We just used them to remove a 20ft tall coastal live oak tree under our power lines that was starting to encroach on our neighbors service drop. They completed the job quickly, and were very careful to reduce damage to the surrounding plants and shrubs. They did a good job on cleaning up and being respectful to the rest of the property. Would definitely recommend them, it was super easy to work with them and they did a great job being communicative. read more

We were very pleased with the professional service and promptness provided by Thomas Lamas, Certified Arborist. He was very humble, knowledgeable, diagnosing our sickly tree, and provided excellent advice and guidance to help us restore our tree to a healthy condition. read more

NewVista Tree Service - A sickly tree we would like to heal. - Tree Services Near Me - San Jose, California

We have a large gingko tree on the street in San Jose and some trees in our backyard that was due for a trim. What makes our particular trees especially difficult is that we are on a busy street and it can turn off some tree services (we've actually had an arborist decline our job). NewVista was by far the easiest company to work with - you schedule a time online to get a quote and it was one of the earliest availabilities we saw vs. other companies. They're ISA certified (that's how I found them) and I thought the whole process of working with them painless and simple. The whole contract and system is online and their pricing was very competitive. Moreover, they did a great job trimming the trees and provided good estimates on when they'd need to return for a future trim. NewVista made the trees on our property look great and I know I can call them back for future needs. read more

NewVista Tree Service team just finished working on some pretty tall trees in our backyard and they did an excellent job. We have a pool and many potted plants in our backyard which makes accessing the trees and removing the debris very challenging. However, the men managed to successfully trim all excessive branches and remove all the debris leaving the yard clean and tidy. The trees still look good but lighter. It was not easy to achieve. It was very easy to communicate with their office as well as with the crew on site. The price was reasonable and the quality of work great. I would hire them again to keep our trees under control. I highly recommend their team to everyone. Thank you for the good job done quickly. read more

I hired NewVista to cut an acceptable line-of-sight for an upcoming electrical drop to a property I manage, as well as to trim back a few more out of control fruit trees. I'm a perfect world, I'd actually give them 16 stars out of 5. I'll explain: 5 for integrity. They actually talked me out of some work I wanted a bid for, and explained convincingly why it would be an unnecessary cost! 5 for expertise. It was clear from the get-go that these folks are bona fide arborists and know their business. 5 for pricing. Not the cheapest, but light-years from the most expensive. Absolutely fair and competitive rates. And 1 bonus star because I just can't recommend NewVista highly enough. Don't waste time or MONEY on another tree service.. these guys are the *best*! read more

This is a 5 Star positive review for NewVista Tree Service. We got multiple bids for our neglected Backyard and Front yard 6 fruit trees, 4 Camellias and boxwood. However, we decided to use this Company because Thomas (Company Owner) was very friendly, professional and gave us a competitive price. They were always available to answer all questions & scheduled our project in a timely manner that was very appreciated. This Company representative (Dina) was available 24/7. Thomas made this huge process so easy. We could not be happier with Anthonio and his team (Angel and Maricio) for a GREAT job! Our Project was done within 8 DAYS with outstanding results. This team arrived on time and got to work right away which included: canopy reduction for 3 citrus trees and 2 apricot trees as well as removal of deadwood and shaping all trees; trimming of neighboring apricot, lemon and apple trees back to property lines. This team cleaned all the areas after completing project. They worked tirelessly throughout this project. Our backyard and front yard look so beautiful that several people stop and praise it. The team cleaned all areas after the project was completed, loaded old staff on Company trucks. Hands down a TOTAL AMAZING Experience with this Company!!! I would highly recommend NewVista Tree Service to anyone who needs a professional, kind and skilled team for any home improvement project!!! Thank you very much!!!!! Company Management you can be very proud of your Team!! read more

Great service. they trim our pine tree brunches on our back yard. Very professional service.

Great work and excellent customer service. It was easy to book an initial consultation where we received expert advice, and then to schedule the work that we needed (installing a root barrier for bamboo, and trimming/treating a lemon tree). Highly recommended! read more

Hired New Vista Tree Service to remove two large liquid amber trees from the front of my house that the City of San Jose ordered to be removed as their roots were doing serious damage to the sidewalk, curb and street (never mind that the city originally planted these trees!). I appreciated that Thomas came to my home to evaluate the project and provided a very competitive estimate. I also appreciated that Thomas is a certified arborist and performed a good portion of the work. They removed the trees, performed the stump grinding and planted the two replacement trees I provided to them, They did the work quickly and did an excellent job cleaning up when the work was completed. Overall, I am very happy and would hire them again without hesitation. Would also recommend New Vista to friends and family! read more

Came on time, were friendly and communicated clearly. They were skillful and cautious in how they cut limbs in pieces, lowered them with a rope, and batted them away from 2 cables in the way. The cuts were neat, and they even cut for me some of the wood into small chunks (to use for bbq's). I was very pleased, and can strongly recommend them. read more

In April, 2025, Thomas's crew came out to trim two street trees, both oaks, and a large stand of privets in our backyard. They also trimmed tree branches which stretched out about ten feet over our backyard fence from our neighbor's property (we had obtained our neighbor's permission). The work and the cleanup went well, and we're happy with the outcomes. We also asked Thomas for a Tree Risk Assessment for both street trees. The report was very thorough, and we're glad to have done this. We recommend Thomas and NewVista Tree Service. read more

I am so happy with NewVista Tree Service's work for me! They pruned my 100-year-old oak tree. They were able to trim parts of the tree that other companies have never been able to reach. They got us an appointment on very short notice. They were on time and very polite. They were patient with my less than kind neighbor. They needed more time to do the job because there was so much that other companies missed in years past. They came back the next day right on time. They did an excellent job cleaning up when they were finished. I highly recommend NewVista Tree Service. I will only use NewVista in the future. read more

I discovered NewVista after they did some tree trimming at my neighbors house. I asked Thomas what he could do for the big Oak tree in the back of our house. As a trained arborist, he was able to provide me with a detailed plan about what should be done to the tree. He provided a very competitive quote and threw in some other minor things that needed work in our yard. On the appointed day, he showed up with his team and they worked extremely hard. Thomas told me he would need to return the next day and would bring an additional climber to make things move along faster. At the end of the 2nd day, the team had done everything we expected and did an excellent job of cleaning up all the debris. Our tree and the yard looks great. My wife and I were very impressed with the effort that the team put forth on our project. I highly recommend NewVista and we will be using them again. read more

New Vista Tree Service was selected for our tree removal. Their proposal quotation by Thomas Lamas was competitively priced and had included all their pertinent license, bonding and insurance information up front which was very important to me compared to other vendor's proposals. The tree removal crew had three people, one to climb the tree and trim the branches, one on the ground to collect the slowly rope dropped branches and one to transport the dropped branches to their wood chipper equipment. I also ordered the tree stump grinding. Very professional crew and they had good work and safety attitude. Very happy with their on-time tree removal job and highly recommended. read more

We have a Meyer lemon tree that had gotten out of control because we didn't know how to trim and prune it. New Vista was able to make a recommendation along with a quote after seeing a photo of the tree. They did great work and gave recommendations for how to keep it trimmed so that it doesn't get out of control again and grow more naturally. We will definitely use them again and recommended them to our neighbors as well. read more

I found New Vista Tree Service online and decided to get an estimate to do a cleaning (trimming, pruning and chopping) in my back yard. Antonio came on time on a Sunday and gave me a quote. He came with Thomas to trim off all the messy neighbor's tree and I also got them him to prune the rest of the trees around my house. Antonio did a great job, very hardworking and he's a strong man. They removed 1 large Redwood tree growing too close to our home. Their certified arborist was able to provide an arborist report for the permit application. On the day of removal the crew showed up on time and were professional. They safely removed the tree in sections and did a great job cleaning up. Payment was easy since they just invoiced me and I paid online. Would hire again and recommend. read more
