Tree Cherubs used to be called We Care Tree Care. It's the same company and still run by Tory and Herme. Tory is very knowledgeable about trees and has over 20 years of experience. About 9 years ago we had Tory come and trim our 50-year-old Jacaranda tree and we were very happy with the care and concern about the tree and their work. Today, we wanted to have the same people come back out and were happy to discover that they were still around and rebranded as Tree Cherubs. Tory remembered our tree and was happy that we remembered him, too. Once again, he showed his knowledge and understanding of the tree and, again, didn't allow any climbers with shoe spikes for fear of damaging the tree. They took great care in protecting the plants and property below. They worked efficiently and quickly and did a fantastic job for a very good price given the large amount of work they needed to accomplish. They left the yard clean and neat and did a wonderful job at not cutting too much or just topping the tree like so many other tree trimming companies do. We actually have a neighbor that has a tree trimming company, but I've seen how they've hacked and topped trees in the neighborhood and I refuse to use them. They will be my go to and recommendation for tree experts moving forward. So if you need a guy, I've got some guys ;) I got a few estimates before I met with Tree Cherubs. It was like the waters parted and I found my people when the cherub arrived. Absolutely delightful and a good laugh! The estimate was fair and explained all the potential issues that could arise, but also gave me an honest evaluation of what the trees needed since they were butchered in the past. Day of, they arrived before the scheduled time to set up tarps to protect my fake grass and didn't disturb my family. They spoke with the neighbors as well to let them know what to expect in the 5 hours they would be on site. They cut and cleaned the tree, and piled everything in the driveway like they said they would to prep for the wood chipper folks in a couple days. After cutting all the branches, cleaning up and leaving (hah), the cherub texted me letting me know the chippers would be on site that day. Through a recommendation from a friend, I reached out to Tree Cherubs through Yelp for a quote & scheduling. Tory was very responsive, scheduling a time to come to give us his opinion & an estimate for the labor. From our initial conversation, it was clear Tory has a vast amount of knowledge, very familiar with the trees in the Bay Area, and good insight into our tree's current & projected health. He provided good recommendations on how the trees could be trimmed to prevent fallen branches with winter storms, as well as cosmetically keep the tree looking natural. Once we settled on a quote, Tory emailed me the agreement. When it came time to execute the trim, Tory texted me the evening before to confirm his arrival time in the morning. He & his partner arrived on-the-dot, quickly started the job to trim 4 of our trees. One of the trees in our backyard intersects with string lights, and Tree Cherubs did a careful job protecting the lights & the floor with some tarp. I appreciated Tory's honesty and candid attitude when he talked us through the trees on our property for us. We decided to go with Tree Cherub not only because the price was competitive but mainly because he made solid recommendations for the health of our trees and explained why certain branches were growing at strange-looking angles, due to previous cuts. He pointed out that one of our trees was diseased and he shared what signs to look out for in the future for if it gets worse. I had also thought that we would get our incense cedars trimmed but he recommended waiting for the winter so that the tree wouldn't get stressed. I appreciated that because I would much rather have healthy strong trees in the long run. As for the job, he and his helper trimmed our eucalyptus tree beautifully and got the wood chipped and hauled away that afternoon.
