PG&E cut down an 18' palm tree in my back yard, as it was growing into their distribution lines. Rather than chip the branches or haul them away, they abandoned the entire tree in my yard and left it to me to put in a claim or clear it myself. I called a couple junk haulers and tree services and got some pretty crazy quotes. Then I called A1 Tree Service, texted them a few pictures of what needed to be done, and within five minutes I was given a quote 1/3rd of what some others were asking. Jose came out that afternoon, even though they were busy with other jobs, and said he could take care of it immediately. He was extremely professional and polite, and completely removed all the tree debris within an hour. This is who you want to call if you want great service and a fair price. read more

Jose did a great job explaining the tree removal process completely: notifying utility companies to identify underground pipes, tree removal, stump removal, and clean-up. His crew arrived at the scheduled time on the scheduled day and worked diligently until the tree and stump were thoroughly removed and ground up. For the work involved, the cost was reasonable. After delays of several weeks and complete lack of response to phone calls, A-1 Tree Care crew finally arrived at our home this morning for trimming backyard trees. As per the proposal and estimate, the job was supposed to be completed in next 2 days. Once here, the crew demanded double the estimate amount. I tried to contact the manager (who provided the estimate and scheduled the job) but he did not pick-up the phone or respond to text messages. And, after wasting our entire morning, the crew just left. Absolutely unprofessional job and will not recommend this company. read more

Yelp to the rescue again! I found A1 Tree Care by looking through Yelp reviews - you always wonder if the highly-rated companies live up to their reviews. In this case, definitely! I called about getting four palm trees trimmed. Jose - who is polite and professional - came out that same day to give an estimate. His price was competitive and they could do the job within a few days, so we booked him. He and his crew showed up early, and were very careful to confirm exactly what was needed. While they were trimming our trees, the crew would stop and check in with us to make sure it was how we wanted. The final result was great, and they cleaned up after. A1 will be the first call I make next time we have a tree issue! Thanks, Jose! read more
