Extra cheese pizza
Nikki M.

Was in dc. Late night. Starving. Always fun to look for some late night grub. Extra cheese pizza was amazing. Fast service. Clean place. Take out ambience. Def will come back

Ordering on one side of the store with some seating along the wall.

We were staying around the Dupont Circle neighborhood and wanted a quick pizza lunch pick up. DC Pizza was close by and had decent Yelp! ratings, and so we gave it a try. It was a fun experience... The setup is very efficient. Once you walk in, you pick up an ordering sheet to fill out. You can build your own or choose one of their few preselected combos. Then you head to the left and hand over your order form to the staff at the first station. Within less than 10 minutes, your pizza passes through each station wrapping around the store in clockwise fashion til you get to the cashier to pay for your pizza. They'll call your number and your pizza is ready all boxed up to go. A 10 minute walk back to our hotel and the pizzas were still hot, fresh and crispy with the thin crust...just the way I like it!

Food is always consistent. Open late hours. Delicious pizza and friendly staff. I usually take to go but the location is convenient since it was close to my hotel. Have eaten here a few times.

The Marty

Good pizza, great prices. The concept is really cool. You basically order like a "Subway" style and they make your pizza right there at the counter. I opted for The Marty which has: Naturally Sweet Tomato Sauce Three Cheese Blend Banana Peppers Pineapple Pepperoni Sausage Sweet Red Chili Sauce (finish) I loved the flavors together and it was fresh and hot! The cheese was wonderful and plentiful. The sweet chili finish was a great complement. My friend made her own pizza and admittedly didn't have as much cheese as mine did. It also took them longer than the promised "3 minutes" (maybe 10/15). Maybe just a one-off? I'd definitely recommend DC pizza for a quick and tasty option. You really can't beat it for the price and convenience!

I would've loved this place for my own love for pizza before. Unfortunately with my family having to go gluten free and dairy free (GFDF), having pizza is just not the same. I'm glad DC pizza has an option for persons needing the same dietary restrictions. My son wanted a pineapple pizza. He was thrilled to 1. get GFDF pizza, 2. watch them make the pizza, and 3. eat it while it's hot! I tasted it thinking it won't be that good cuz my experience with plant based cheese has not been meh - it was actually pretty good. It was too toasted though so maybe next time I'd ask that when making the gluten free pizza to either run it shorter in the oven or lower the heat. I lie, one more thing, it was pretty pricey for opting for GF and vegan cheese. Like $5 more. The cash register saw my shock of the price so she offered I take two cookies for my two kiddos. It was a generous and kind gesture. I sadly declined because they weren't gluten free but it was still very sweet of her. I'd come back for the GFDF pizza for my son again. The place was tight inside. It could probably seat 5-7 people inside. There were definitely a lot more seating in the outdoor area.

We had the labne with charred corn and pita chips to start and it was divine. The pita chips are so fresh and the herbs and spices on the charred corn delicious with the creamy, slightly salty labne. I opted for the steak pita and my son had the lamb shoulder pita. Both were excellent- a savory blend of beautifully grilled meat, fresh veggies and herbs and pickled treats. They are also quite filling. I would Have loved to try a baked treat or the soft serve, but I was just too full. The line got a little long around noon, but everyone is very friendly and efficient so it wasn't onerous. We managed to snag a table right at the window which was marvelous- people watching and yummy lunch. I also had a peanut dalgona iced coffee - creamy, slightly sweet and yet refreshing. I think you can't miss with anything you order here.

However, noting the crowds, I was waiting for a time when I could go for lunch after the peak hour, hoping to have an easier time getting a table. Finally, the day had come. We arrived sometime after 2pm on a Sunday. Still crowded! All the tables both indoor and outside were taken, and there was a long line to order at the counter. Oh well, I thought, it's now or never. So, we got in line. Impressively, the line moved fast. In the meantime, I deputed my nephew to hover outside, and swoop in as a table was vacating. By the time I emerged, he had succeeded in his mission. Conclusion: the tables move fast too. Now to the food. The lamb pita was disappointing. And at $22 per sandwich, the disappointment was quite bitter. The meat was over-spiced (a problem I've also had at Albi, with salt) to the point that you could barely taste that it was lamb. After a while, I just couldn't eat it anymore. It could have done with some more greens to balance the flavor a bit better, but aside from a few leaves at the top, there were none. So why four stars? I loved the vibe, and I love the menu concepts. I want to return to try the pastries, which I've heard are the strong suit. It really is a pleasant, buzzy space for afternoon coffee and something sweet. So you could say the fourth star is a downpayment on an experience to come.

Their menu features lamen and noodles, dumplings, and an assortment of soups. The space feels very open upon entry at the top of the stairs, and has a semi-open kitchen in the back of the dining area. My friend and I were seated immediately at a table next to the windows overlooking Wisconsin Ave, and our waitress provided great service throughout our meal. There were only a few other tables dining, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the dishes ordered. The Food Breakdown: Grandma's Style Pancake (4/5) - I was admittedly skeptical at first about the item, as the beef was presented wrap-style within the scallion pancake. However, it was actually a refreshing bite with a slight kick from the red pepper. It made for a filling starter. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5) - Very delicious and flavorful. There was a good amount of soup in each dumpling as well, properly wrapped so it was easy to pick up and add in the complimenting sauces. Steamed Vegetable Dumplings (4.5/5) - Unpictured, but I was pleasantly surprised by the seasoning in the veggies. They come with six per order, and I enjoyed alternatively between them with the soup dumplings. This was a great lunch stop in the heart of Georgetown, with a second, equally convenient location in Chinatown. The menu offers plenty of selections, and I'd be likely to revisit for its noodles and broth next.

Dear reader, Call…read moreYour Mother in Georgetown is definitely a bit of a splurge for a bagel, but fortunately, the food is good enough to justify all day long. The Mountain View sandwich is my personal favourite and has never let me down. It's got mashed avocado, bodega-style egg, and latke. Oh my! If you've never had a latke, you've got to try it! Even the bagels on their own are excellent, particularly the sesame, which has the proper chew and flavour one hopes for. The Georgetown location is also ridiculously charming. That bright pink corner building has been something of a local photo op for years, and it is almost impossible to walk past without noticing it. It is also perfectly situated for grabbing your food and wandering around Georgetown afterward. The employees are always nice and keep things moving despite the crowds. They've got the fresh bagels, friendly service, and a semi-iconic location. Sure it gets a busy with a queue out the door, but it moves quicker than you'd think and gives you time to study the menu! Pricey? Certainly. Worth treating yourself? I don't say so.
