I ordered the Spike's Sunnyside Burger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The burger was really good and definitely above average. The only small issue was that the bun was a little flat and had a hard time holding together with such a big burger. The fries tasted like they were hand cut and had great flavor, but the real standout was the milkshake. It was rich, creamy, and honestly one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. I've always been interested in eating here. I may have popped in here once several months ago to get a milkshake, but I can't remember. I stopped in here today during my lunch break and had their half chicken tender basket with chipotle barbecue sauce. It took about 7 minutes before it was ready. The meal was just ok to me. Honestly not a bad burger spot if youre looking for a quick bite. I will say the price for the size of the burger is a little on the more expensive side but the flavor was there. The size of the fries were also not bad but because it came in a bag they were all soggy by the time I ate it. I loved the crispy onions they put in my burger, it added a really good crunch in every bite. They had a whole bunch of sauces on the side of the drinks and I tried every single one. I loved the horseradish one the best and the mango one, surprisingly, came in top three. The cashier helped me pick which burger to get because I could decide and she was pretty friendly. Bringing the drinks and sauces and food up the stairs in one trip was pretty difficult so I would suggest taking a few trips. Really good price for three huge tenders fries and drink all around 14 bucks which still high better than some places with higher quality in friends as well. Super friendly staff clean area and really good looking menu. I wanted just som food so tenders and fries for me. A short wait and my buzzer went off and grabbed my meal packaged up on a tray. I appreciated this because if I want to eat in store or to go I have the option. After getting meal they had different sauces out and tried the chipotle one but tasted only of mayo to me. I did get their homemade ranch and that was really good on my chicken. Chicken was FRESH HOT and loved the breading on them. Didn't taste too salty and same with the fries. E is for Eatery as in Good Stuff Eatery: Didn't have a specific E named restaurant for the alphabet series with my g/f, so I decided to go with "Eatery". Prior to my g/f & I visiting here, I had been to Good Stuff Eatery many times mainly in Arlington but also the Georgetown DC location. The burger & fries are always great here. They have the condiment station, where you can select the various condiments more than just ketchup & mustard, but sriracha, mango, chipotle, & others. The Georgetown location seating is all on the upstairs area as well as outside seating. My g/f & I visited here on Wednesday, March 19; exactly a month ago from today! It's pretty rare to go to DC during the workweek and especially Georgetown. But my friend had tickets to a fun game show night event, and there was a movie playing at AMC Georgetown on my A-List, which was not showing at any of the AMC's in MD, that we both wanted to see. So, we decided to trek down here on this Wednesday. Afterward, we ate at Good Stuff, but first I had to rush to move my car since I was in 2 hour parking. I moved my car a few blocks from where I was before & a lot closer to Good Stuff. We enjoyed once again a delicious burger, split fries (which are a pretty good portion), & shake, a Milky Way Malt, which was outstanding. The line was long for a Wednesday after 8 PM, but it's a busy area with college students, workers, & others there. The cashier was cordial, but I realized there were 2 different sizes of fries. I just said I'd like fries, but she didn't ask me for snack or regular. Then, I looked at the receipt and realized it was just the snack for the 2 of us and only a $1.25 price differential. I told her, and I was going to pay the difference, but she said don't worry about it and told the crew to make it a regular size. Also, the condiment station was not the self-service, but they had put them an individual containers unlabeled under labeled containers, but it was hard to tell what was what. I knew what the mango looked like and kind of guessed on the others I wanted. Overall, the food was excellent, service pretty good but could've been better on asking about the fries, & the condiment station being a mess was a negative. This location is terrible. Waited over 20 minutes for my food (2 burgers and an order of small fries) and still never received it. I checked with the cashier several times just for them to tell me that my order was coming while it never did. Meanwhile, every other customer that came after me received their food. Once I asked for a refund, I was given it without a receipt. Hopefully I get my money back. The dirty vents that look like they haven't been cleaned in months filled with dirt and dust, the dirty chili pot, and the monthly special promo that was posted was outdated from the previous month all should have been tell-tale signs that this place was a no-go. Avoid the long lines and go to many of the other burger joints in Georgetown if you want a good experience. This was the worst dining experience that I have had in Georgetown. Both have the register on the first floor with seating on the second. My go-to order is always the Prez Burger with a small village fries and Cherry Coca-Cola. For the fries, they have different mayo like siracha and chipotle. The fountain dispenser has a variety of Coke products. Although tasty, it's very greasy and a bit much. The bun was one you could get from the store, and the patty was so dry, bland, and small. For such a price, this is definitely not what I was looking for. You could go to so many other places to get yourself a burger that is at least somewhat good. Shake Shack and Five Guy's are perfect examples that are around the same price. One word to describe their burger: wet. And who wants a wet burger? The burgers come wrapped in paper and even before being unwrapped you can see the pool of grease. It's not just the paper or the patty, everything is wet: the bun, the cheese, the toppings. You can't hold the burger without your fingers getting wet. Flavor-wise, the burger is mediocre at best. I ordered the Obama burger, which sounded delicious off the menu. But the onions are so sweet that they must have dumped a mountain of sugar on them when cooking. The chef who made the recipe for this burger seems to have the palette of a ten year old. I've never had such a sweet burger in my life. The onion petals were also mediocre at best. Yeah, I wanted to give Good Stuff a higher score, but the taste of some of their burgers left something to be desired. We came to Good Stuff because it was opened by my main man Spike Mendelsohn who was a contestant on the TV show Top Chef Masters. They have a wide selection of burgers and sandwiches for sale here. Some were great, and some were meh. The Spike's Sunnyside and Good Stuff Melt were remarkable. Super tasty, fresh ingredients, just a great burger overall. I would say the quality is comparable to "gourmet" burger spots like The Counter, Red Robin, West Coast Beef Co., etc. On the other hand, burgers like the Barack Obama and the Michelle Obama were underwhelming. The Barack Obama had too much blue cheese so it ended up being super funky, and the Michelle Obama was just too healthy for my taste. I enjoy turkey burgers just as much as anyone (see: Bongo Burger), however, the combination of a dry turkey patty combined with the very seedy whole grain bun made for a bland and dry experience (very healthy tho!) The thing that made this place pretty epic imo was their sauce selection. They had so many sauces "on tap" which you could dispense into little paper cups to put on your burger or fries. Among these were sauces like mango habanero, horseradish, honey mustard, chipotle, and more. The creamy horseradish sauce was fantastic, would highly recommend. This place always smells so good whenever we walk by so we finally decided to try it out. Menu is pretty easy to follow. They have a variety of burgers to choose from and some with turkey burgers or Nashville hot chicken. We went with the melt burger which has caramelized mushrooms and onions, and substituted American cheese. We got the village fries as a side and got an Oreo cookie shake. Burger was good and had a good amount of toppings. There are various dipping sauces you can pick so we tried chipotle, sriracha mayo, and old bay. Out of the three the chipotle was the best for us.
