Messy and no food. Why aren't they cooking.

Actual worst restaurant ever. I'm not coming back because of the wait, the hygiene, the shouting in the kitchen, and the fact that I waited over 45 mins for a simple order. In fact, my impression of Shake Shack as a BRAND has gone down. (PS are the employees high at w

I've visited this Shake Shack so many times since opening. Generally, the food is OK and the customer service consistently is mediocre. Since opening they've transitioned almost exclusively to receiving customer orders via self-serve kiosks, as is how most other Shake Shacks operate in the area and region. However, they still have the capability to take customer orders with their employees. In a way the self-serve kiosk improve customer service as there is minimal contact with staff, however, I've gotten into the habit of ordering food on the mobile app to increase ordering accuracy and minimize employee interaction. This location thrives off of foot traffic from the local nightclubs in Dupont Circle. They easily serve hundreds of customers on Friday and Saturday nights. Consider ordering via the mobile app to reduce wait time which is my recommendation for all Shake Shack locations only because there is so much liberty in being able to pre-order food with the intent of spending minimal time in restaurants.

Food: 5/5 Shake Shack burger with tomatoes and lettuce is excellent, especially for the price. Smaller patty so you might go with a double, but the price climbs $3 to roughly $10 for that. Burger doesn't come with fries... Fries: 4/5 Crinkle fries but much much better than Ore-ida. Crisp, fresh and tasty. Tried the bacon cheese fries, which seems expensive at $6.49 for a single cardboard skiff, but they went a long way and could easily be split with someone. Shake: 4/5 Tried the oreo-cookie. Very tasty and the cookie crumbles were just the right size to get through the straw. Bit pricy at $6.50 for the small size portion, being one reason for less than full 5/5. Ambiance:. Nicer than it looks from the entry. Music was some rap with some hip hop flair from yesteryear like Earth Wind & Fire. The backroom has a loft and is pretty cool. There were a number of tables back there with street people who had maybe bought a drink and just hanging until they closed. They were quiet but one had what looked like a couple days of trash surrounding him at his feet and he was sleeping wrapped in a blanket. Not sure this is the look you want for arriving people sitting in this large seating section. Couple tables needed cleanup but that wasn't part of their process during the 60 minutes we were there. Bonus for staying open late! Definitely returning, especially for takeout.

Yes, I'm going there: this is a five star shake shack. While the food is as you would expect it just about any other of their locations, the service with a smile offered by every single staff member brings this place to the top of my shake shack list. By comparison, the store in Hollywood, California, just a few doors down from the Pantages theater, features an entire staff of people who seemingly forgot how to smile. Not here in DC; the young lady that took our order, another lady who brought our food out, and a third individual who just happened to be walking by towards the back... Each of them treated us like we were guests in their home. And as evidence that it was not a fluke, we made two separate orders; one for our burgers and fries, and the second one for our respective chocolate and vanilla shakes. Because, as my dad says in Vegas: "we're not here for a haircut." I don't know the next time I will be in Washington DC, but like so many places that we have visited around our great country, customer service, kindness, and courtesy all seem to be far superior in many locations outside of my native southern California. I suppose we could take a lesson on that to be a little nicer and slow down a little bit. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Good place, the workers were nice, nice decoration, but my food was really late, cold, soggy, and missing half the bun.

Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.

There Are Hotels. And Then There Is The Jefferson…read more Some places hold history the way marble holds cold, the way a well-appointed room holds silence after a long day of noise. Washington, D.C. is full of those places. Monuments. Halls of power. Streets that hum with the weight of decisions that shaped the world. But The Jefferson sits in a different category entirely. It does not shout its significance. It assumes it. Quietly. Perfectly. The way only a truly great institution can. For a millennial woman who grew up watching The West Wing and Scandal; who came of age believing that proximity to power was a personality trait, walking into The Jefferson feels like arriving somewhere you already knew existed but had not yet been permitted to enter. The lobby does not try to impress you. It simply receives you. Dark wood, dramatic marble,, soft light, the kind of quiet that costs something. I came for an afternoon. I left with a story. It started with a glass of wine and a question. The wine was easy. The question was better. I turned to Mike, the bartender, the kind of professional who carries himself with the quiet competence of someone who has never once doubted a pour, and I asked him directly: how confident are you in making the perfect martini? Sky high, he said. He was not wrong. Gin. A wash of vermouth. Nothing more. Stirred, because some things are not up for negotiation, and James Bond has a lot to answer for. The glass arrived impossibly cold, impossibly clear, with a lemon twist curled inside like a small, elegant secret. The first sip was the kind that makes you set the glass down slowly, look at nothing in particular, and simply exhale. That was the drink. That was the moment. That was The Jefferson saying: you are exactly where you should be. What followed was a burger. But calling it a burger is like calling the Library of Congress a place with books. They heard me. Gluten free toast in place of a bun, no hesitation, no substitution tax levied in the form of a lesser experience. The patty was serious. The cheese was melted with intention. And then, the Dijon. Two small jars of Clovis, the kind of condiment that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything else. Thick. Complex. The culinary equivalent of a strong opinion delivered with grace. This is what D.C. does to you when you let it. When you stop moving long enough to sit at a bar that has probably hosted quiet conversations that changed things, and you order something beautiful, and you let the afternoon arrive. This city is not just for politicians and lobbyists and people with lanyards. It belongs, equally, to the ones who show up knowing what they want and how to ask for it. Stirred. Not shaken. Mike understood that before I finished the sentence. And The Jefferson understood it long before I walked through the door.

The tequila cocktail I tried missed the mark but their wine list is very good; the server also seemed to know it intimately, which was impressive. I was surprised by the generous portions too, and really enjoyed the tuna. It's not cheap but you knew that because it's the Jefferson. I would absolutely go back but plan ahead because the interior, while cozy, can get crowded quickly.

Another Thursday and yet another great meal at The Admiral!!!…read moreWalking home from the office, we were both hungry and, when we saw the sign, our minds were made up! We both got the All American Burger and it was awesome! Piled high with extras like fresh lettuce, flavorful tomatoes, sharp onion, slightly spicy mayo - MORE PLEASE!!!! It was straight up LOUD when we arrived due to the music; so loud I debated on if we should stay but we decided on sticking here after seeing there were a couple spots at the bar and less of a crowd there. The bartenders are attentive and patient, answering any questions you have. After ordering a couple beers, I ordered the chicken wings and a side caesar salad while my friend got the fish and chips. The wings are crispy although dry on the inside; fortunately you got the ranch for that; probably not something I would order again given the quality and price. The caesar salad is fine; nothing special, just fine. The fish and chips looked delicious and my friend enjoyed it. I probably should've gone with that but it was a large portion and I wasn't trying to leave on a full stomach. It's breaded nicely with some parmesan fries and a garnish of slaw. I can tell it's a favorite here. Located in Dupont Circle, this seems to be a favorite of the younger crowd which would explain the blaring music; especially on a Wednesday night at 930ish. The restaurant interior gives an upscale elegant vibe that suites the DC scene. Maybe I'll come here for lunch or on the weekend if I'm in the area but I'm too old for the loud music now. Sit outside (if weather permits).

From start to finish, I have absolutely no negative feedback at all. 1. The Food Everything we ordered was completely divine! Here's the rundown: -Sandwiches: My husband got a Bogan Bun. My son a Mumbo Bun chicken sandwich and listen, he didn't speak a single word the entire meal because he was enjoying it so much! I ordered the Lucky Bun made with an Impossible patty. It was everything! Best I've had at a restaurant! In fact, my son, who loves beef burgers and claims he doesn't like plant based meat, ended up eating the rest of my burger! He tore that plant based meat DOWN! -Thick cut chips & Queso: The waiter let us know that their portion of fries (chips) could easily feed 3 to 4 people. He was not lying at all. The three of us shared one basket. I don't know if the sandwiches or the fries stole the show. These fries were seasoned to absolute perfection!!! SERIOUSLY! Not the typical sprinkle on top, but seasoned on every single side like someone picked up each fry and hand sprinkled each fry. Think I'm fibbing look at my pic. We ordered a side of queso for dipping and it was so good I wish I had some right now. If you're reading, hear me out Lucky Bun....add tortilla chips and queso to the menu please!!!! I would buy it just to scoop up that delicious cheese. -The Garlic Aioli: why am I highlighting a condiment???? Because!! lol!! It wasn't just standard mayo mixed with garlic powder. You could tell someone actually finely minced fresh garlic and herbs into it. It was so good I couldn't decide whether to dip my fries in the aioli or the queso! So that's why it's in my review! 2. Service The service was exceptional. There was no wait time at all. We walked straight in and were seated immediately. The food came out extremely fast which surprised us since we all ordered completely different proteins. They were speedy but all of our food arrived perfectly warm. The host, a slim gentleman, and our waitress, a lovely young lady rockin locs, were both incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. I'm telling you good service makes the food even better! 3. Restaurant Look and Seating The inside of the restaurant is fairly small, but they maximized the space with multiple tables and a full service bar. They also have outdoor dining and a front waiting area with outdoor furniture, which would be perfect for a nice summer day. You don't even have to ask me because you already know the answer. YES!!! The next time I am in DC, I will specifically make time to go there. Even if I'm not staying in the immediate area, I would gladly take an Uber just to eat here again and so will my family! Make sure you get there too!

The patty melt was perfectly cooked, juicy, and hit all the right spots, and those fries were crisp, seasoned just right, and seriously addictive. Service was great. Young bartender Noah with braids held it down. Young man was raised right! Go Commanders lol. Go Wizards! Restaurant was comfy, dark and chill. Inside and outside dining options. The mosquitoes aren't out yet so enjoy the patio. But honestly, the real star of the show, the one that truly stole my heart and taste buds, was the Antigua Bound drink. It was so good I had to get it twice! Seriously, this drink is a game-changer. It's got that perfect balance of refreshing and delicious that just makes you want to savor every sip. You know a drink is special when it outshines a stellar patty melt and fries, and the Antigua Bound definitely did that.
