My go to Nail spot in austin. I'd go 5 stars, but I've found a couple of the nail techs a bit rough on cuticles and filing, while others are phenomenal. Place is very clean, and they have a nice little beverage fridge for free drinks while you are getting a mani pedi. After moving to Austin, a number of ladies and I have spoken. In my hunt for a great nail salon, I decided to try Dazzle Nails. I got there and took a seat and the owner came over soon after and greeted me. They were very busy and he told me if would be a few minutes. Not a problem, I used the time to pick out a color. A pedicure chair opens soon after and I took my seat. The owner was wonderful, talked me and helped out the staff. He got several of us a drink and was honest with walk-ins. They were so busy, I didn't have a chance to pick a pedicure and didn't get a hand massage with the manicure. But overall, I'm still happy. I mentioned that I didn't want my nails cut, just squared and that's exactly what they did. I'm going to see how the grip holds up, but as of now, I would go back. read more

I asked for an almond shape (someone else has an almost identical review below) and repeatedly pulled my hand away as the guy filed the side of my fingers down until I bled. Wish I got his name, he was not friendly and only seemed to get more annoyed when I showed him where my fingers were raw and bleeding. Left with powder all over my hands, at the end he just got up and walked away without acknowledging me at all to say he was done. So i just sat there waiting for the polish layer to dry. I went in Saturday, it's now one day later and I have a nail that looks shattered? I've never had this happen before. Not sure if it's just poor quality product or what. I have tried nearly every nail salon in Austin. I always do a dip manicure and gel pedicure. Prior to Dazzle, I would wind up with chips, breaks, etc. usually w/i less than a week. At Dazzle, not one time, in my approximately 3 years of exclusively going to Dazzle have I had a problem. In the process of moving one time, I broke a nail and they took care of it within about 5 minutes and no charge, even though it was 100% my fault. Alex and Vanna, the owners, are the sweetest people on earth. Talk about a fountain of wisdom from the both of them. You cannot go wrong w/ any of their staff as I always walk away with the best nails that last until my new growth is just too long... approximately 3 weeks or so. The owner is just the sweetest conversationalist. He greeted us with a warm welcome and helped my friend a lot to match her powder color and gel color. I like my powder nails and pedicure. My nails did seem a little thick but I also have short nails, and it was my first time doing nails so I actually don't know if they did a good job. The picture I posted is about 2 weeks later. I've continued to try to support this business since it's in my neighborhood, but every time I come in I always regret it. They don't do a great job and my nails never look as good as when I go elsewhere. They are always running behind. Multiple times I've made an appointment and they start 45 minutes late. This time was a Friday night at 6pm and we didn't get started until 6:45 which put me behind for plans for the rest of the evening. And they don't even apologize or acknowledge they are running very far behind. Unfortunately I won't be going back after consistently experiencing the same issues. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had. No one asked what kind of pedicure I'd like. Spent 30 seconds exfoliating and then started painting my nails. Said she was going to do the massage after. Then used cuticle oil and random lotion in her cart to rub my legs. Then I asked for my SNS off of my fingers and to just clean up my nails and paint them with clear polish. She didn't even get all of the SNS off. My nails look like sh*t. I honestly can't believe I just paid a babysitter to watch my kids just to pay someone else to do a worse job on my nails than I could have done at home. So disappointing. read more

Called in to make an appointment to get my old gel polish on my nails and toes removed. Got an appointment within 30 min, and upon arrival, was warmly welcomed by Alex. Alex helped remove the nail polish on my hands, made great conversation, and warmly handed me off to Nam to take care of my nails and another to take care of my pedicure. I'm quite particular when it comes to my manicure, and Nam was patient and sweet, and took the time to make sure my design was to my liking. The pedicure was lovely, included a massage, sugar scrub, exfoliation, and I was dozing off. They have a TV, and there is also a nice soothing instrumental music softly playing. Alex also offered a sparkling water while I was being taken care of. The shop itself is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and the massage chairs are nice as well. The nail tech (I did not get her name, it was a woman probably in her 40s) was very short with me and got upset when I asked her to make my nail extensions shorter. She cut me with the drill. Got my nails done at Dazzle when it first opened a few days ago, and Wowow! 20% off on a manicure that was already reasonably priced, and the staff was so professional and friendly! Loved how chic the interior was and everything was very sanitary. I had a great time chatting with the girls who work here, and I didn't feel rushed at all, like some other salons I've been to in the area. Such a great location too, with plenty of free lot parking, so no worries about street parking, which was what I disliked about my usual place. TLDR: cheap, friendly, clean, with free parking always! Such a great addition to the neighborhood!! Vivian and her staff are very professional, welcoming and their attention to detail is spot on!! I was in a rush (literally, in 5 o'clock traffic, bleh!) to pick up my boyfriend from the airport. Only being 10 minutes away, I called and asked if they could squeeze me in for a mani/pedi in 45 minutes. By the time I got there, they had everything ready for me and recommended I get a gel manicure so that the polish would dry quickly since I was in a hurry. These ladies are so nice and barely made fun of me for my very ticklish feet. 2.5 weeks later and I'm still rocking my manicure with no chips, too! Giving 3 stars because the manager/owner is very friendly. I don't think I've ever had a crappier pedicure. Didn't file or clean under the nails. My toenails were left jagged and not shaped. Nail tech didn't use much effort into scrubbing bottom of heels/feet. I wanted to like this place but it seems as if the staff is not experienced. I showed a picture of the color I wanted as dip and emphasized I did not want pink, that I wanted a nude. I kept asking "this isn't going to be pink, right?" And was told no. It definitely is pink. Wow...I've been trying to find the right nail salon around downtown Austin that wasn't $30 for a manicure and I finally found my salon... I had the best manicure for $18 and a pedicure for $30.
