Ive given this place a few chances because they're located close to me and I like to support locals. The owner has been incredibly rude multiple times though without provocation. I gave her a chance as well even after she was nasty with me over the phone recently. I just had my nails done there and tipped VERY WELL like I always do even though they werent particularly nice, professional, or good. I simply got one shellac color on both hands and toes. They started peeling and catching in my hair within hours. I called immediately and the phone just kept rigning and ringing for minutes without an answering machine. I tried several times but had to get back to work. I tried again in two days and just let the phone ring for 4 whole minutes until the owner finally picked up. I wasnt angry or rude because I had no reason to be. I figured theyd just fix the small issue and be done with it but she was very rude, kept talking over me, and asked why i didnt call sooner (even though it was still just a couple days since). I told her i had and she talked over me explaining. I even offered over the phone AND in person to show her the records on my phone which would not only show day and time but also how long i was on the phone for. She refused both times to look even though she brought it up both times. I simply wanted them fixed and even offered to get a higher priced service if she thought that would be better and avoid this happening again. I hoped she would give maybe a 5% discount or SOMETHING to get more money as well as fix the simple problem. She just continued to roll her eyes at me, say she's "been doing this a long time and never had this happen or any problems ever with nails" (not possible even at high end salons). This is also odd to me because its actually a very common problem. She was so arrogant but the shop is a dump. Its never clean, theres never anyone there, and they have things for sale in the front that are also dirty like random jeans and homemade lotions (but not in a creative or even semi professional way. ex; they have various used bottles with ripped (not even cut) masking tape and hand written (not even neatly) "labels"). The labels literally just have "lotion" written on them. Its unsanitary. The first time I went there, the heater didnt work and they had me washing my hands in freezing water on a day that it was also freezing outside and didnt even seem to be concerned, apologize, give reason, or anything. My teeth were chattering the whole time as they rolled their eyes at me and wore huge coats. As I said before, I wanted to give this place a chance and they had good reviews so I assumed all these red flags were just one offs or bad days. The owner had me come back today though, on HER time, had me take off work, and was so rude I had to just leave- complete waste of time and money. I cant believe I tipped so well the two times I went...thinking maybe they'd at least be a little nicer. Nope! Im genuinely baffled by the good reviews. I can only assume they are friends and family. Funny though! As Im typing and seeing the reviews to my right, I see other people saying the exact same thing happened with their gel manicures and the owner being rude. I thought you "never had an issue EVER" Claudia?? Do you just not pay attention to your customers or reviews? Maybe you ladies are only nice to hispanic women because yall ALL have pretended to barely or not speak Spanish at all. I wasn't going to bring this up but after seeing Im not the only one - it may be safe to assume you're a bit racist against many of your clients. I said I didn't speak Spanish but whole family is fluent (because even though I may look ambiguous- I AM Mexican) and I do understand a bit. And I caught a few derogative things your techs said. If you cant be a good person, at least pretend to be a good business. Be fair, do what's right, and take pride in what you do. There's no need to be so nasty to kind strangers who are trying to support your business. read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. Positive: the prices are unbeatable ($20), the girls were very nice and polite and my girl spent quite a bit of time on the polish, making sure they looked absolutely perfect. The finished product was perfect! It was quick and simple but got the job done. Negative: it's not at all a relaxing experience. The massage chair didn't work, there were no jets in the water (or maybe they were broken), the massage part lasted for maybe 1 minute, so basically no massage at all, and they don't offer any type of fancy pedicure options. So the entire pedicure took about 20 minutes. Also about halfway through, their kids walked in and started watching children shows on the TV in front of us so we had to listen to that. I guess if you want an "experience" you gotta pay more somewhere else. If you're looking for a relaxing pedicure experience, this is not the place. If you're looking for a quick, simple but good job of cleaning your toes and a nice paint job, this is perfect. I guess it just depends on what you are wanting. I love Claudia's! I wasn't impressed last time I went but I think because I got a regular manicure and it chipped soon. That always happens with me though so I somehow thought someone else doing it would fix that. I'm addicted to gel now so it doesn't matter! Their prices are great! $25 (I think) for a regular mani/pedi Monday through Thursday, $25 gel mani, and 2 for $5 nail designs! Designs are usually $5 a nail at other places! Plus they always listen to how you want your nails done or if you don't want filing, cuticle cutting, whatever. Aleida is the best for this I think. My only gripe is they don't have a website or prices posted on Yelp or anywhere. I still walk out with attention to detail, no crazy hack job on my cuticles, and a flower design on a gel mani for $37 (I left a $7 tip)! I'm so impressed now by how much you get for your money here, will definitely be returning! read more

I was desperately in need of a gel manicure, as the one I'd had eight days before from a different salon, in another state, was literally peeling off my nails. Claudia was able to get me in as a walk-in and was as gracious, friendly, and thorough as if I were a long-standing client. I have never had such a perfect manicure or pedicure. There was no pressurized upselling, and not a speck of dry skin or out of place polish anywhere to be seen! IMMACULATE. Came in as getting my gel mani has been on my TO-DO list for a few days now and I was nearby during traffic hour. I rather get shit done than sit in traffic for hours! It is an unsuspecting locale, but Brenda my manicurist was kind, quiet, cordial and did an impeccable job on my nails! This is coming from a gal who has her "nail spots" in different parts of town that are acceptable/good aka finding a consistently good nail place actually doesn't come easy! I've now added this spot to my list of places in ATX. Definitely coming back again. I've been to Claudia's twice now. It's a small shop -- three pedi chairs, two mani stations. I went at 2pm on a Thursday for a manicure, 4pm on a Tuesday for a manicure-pedicure, and didn't have a wait either time. Both Claudia and Adela are really, really sweet. The shop's really clean in part because it's been open less than a year. I paid $25 for the mani-pedi, which is their deal if you go early in the week. I think it's a great offer: I was pleased with my manicure both times and my pedicure is still rockin' two weeks on. The manicure by itself was $10. Claudia's is tucked in right next to an auto repair and used car lot, which may not be obvious at first. But, hey, at least there's ample parking. They speak English and Spanish. Their polish racks are disorganized and a little scarce. There's no dryers for toes. They have a TV and a great A/C. A nice, cheap oasis. I'll definitely go back. read more

I went to Claudia's for the the first time yesterday for a pedicure and a shellac manicure. This place isn't fancy and doesn't have lots of "extra" amenities like hot stones or paraffin wax as part of their regular treatment- and my greeting when I initially walked in was awkward and a little cold, even though there were two women available- BUT... I will go back here all the time. Brenda and Claudia did an incredible job- they were kind, immaculate, and perfectionists. My pedicure and shellac mani were $45 total. These ladies are amazing! I walked in at 6:50 pm thinking they closed at 7:30pm but they actually close at 7pm. I was going to leave once i realized that but they insisted it was okay and they would take me in. I got a good simple pedicure and I got an acrylic full set with a gel polish overlay. Came here based on positive reviews, but here is why the two stars: - They do good work (I've been looking around), but they are not about the customer service. - No acknowledgement when you walk in, and I have literally been sitting with my feet in this now cold water for 30 minutes with no assistance. - They don't have the largest polish variety, and many of them look old. - Not English fluent, which is TOTALLY fine , all about minority run businesses (Latina in the house here), but that doesn't mean they should completely ignore you and not even try to tell you what's going on (i.e. read above about my feet now having been soaking for 30 minutes) - Salon tech's children running around everywhere. Came here to get my lashes done since my normal lash lady at Ck nails was out of town. Since I was heading out of town, I had to get them done. Needless to say the service was decent but as far as my lashes go- They were horrible. I've never had my lashes done from the front. Claudia's my girl. She'll squeeze you in late/early if you ask and she does a bang-up job on shellac nails. I saw someone else comment that their shellac only lasts a few days and that hasn't been my experience. Mine usually lasts 7-10 days (depending on the polish color...you can ask Claudia about colors that last longer. She's tried all of them and knows which are best). I've only had 1 pedicure here and it was fine, nothing special. Overall for manicures I would very highly recommend Claudia. It's best to call and make an appointment before showing up. It's just Claudia, her sister, and 1 other girl here so they're usually really busy and can't always take walk-in's. They also have lots of parking and I think you can bring champagne/mimosas if you want (but I'm not sure if they still allow that). read more
