This is my second time eating here and it's always super amazing. The servers are quick. The food it's very well made and the whole saloon is very cozy. Pricing is truly great for how much food you get. I kept it simple today and ordered a create your own omelet. It has so many things in it for such a low cost. I've eaten here many times and posted a review in 2016. Davidson's was recently purchased by a young couple. The husband is a veteran and a member of my American Legion post. I've been told they are part of the original owner's family. This Thanksgiving (2025) they closed the restaurant to the public and hosted a free Thanksgiving meal for members of the post. It was great! Had I not had this option it would have been PBJs at home... alone. Instead, I got to enjoy an amazing buffet meal in a warm building and in the company of very nice people. The two gals there who I assume were family walked around with a carafe of hot coffee for several hours and made sure my cup never went below half full. I left stuffed.... and all for free! I know it wasn't required or expected but I left a very nice gratuity when I left. Best Thanksgiving for me in many, many years! As I said in my earlier review, Davidson's is great although I prefer Toms (owned by the same family for decades). It's much closer to where I live but the same great food and plenty of it for not much money model. If you're in the area looking for an amazing, filling breakfast, a hearty comfort food lunch or dinner, this is the place for you. I'm mostly updating my review as a shout out and a thank you to the new owners for offering an lovely and noteworthy holiday meal that won't be forgotten. Called all around to find a pecan pie. None of the other places that sold pie had any. I was told that it tends to be a fall pie. Davidson's was the last on my list and they had freshly baked pecan pies. I asked the lady if she could save one for me? She let me know how much it would cost, took my name down, and said it would be packed and ready for me. The pie looked wonderful. The only discrepancy was an up charge from the price I was quoted. Single employee was doing everything, the greeting, the wait staff and cooking. Never been to Davidson's but it's Frosty Top Saloon now. We went in for dinner, and there was no staff to seat us or give us menus. We sat and waited for almost 10 minutes. It wasn't a good start. My husband finally called the restaurant and after about the 30th ring, someone came out, took the call, and then we got service. I ordered the halibut fish and chips which is $18 and I was expecting long pieces of fish with my fries. I got two chunks the size of a chicken nugget, and it certainly did not fill me up. This wait staff was kind and good, but the fries were bitter, like the fryer oil needed to be changed and I was dismayed with the amount of halibut that I received for a fairly high price. The worst diner of all! I can't believe I had to pay for the slop we were served. Came in early afternoon for a lunch. No smile, no greeting, no one paid any mind to us for a hot minute. We were then yelled at across the restaurant to sit in some terrible corner booth (the rest of the restaurant was basically empty - not sure why we got stuck in the stinky corner by the dirty dishes). Never got the tea I ordered. Service was abysmal. You would have thought the waitress was in physical pain having to take our order... she was so rude and put out by our presence in the restaurant. We were nothing but perky, friendly, and kind. NONE of that was returned. Waited FOREVER for food. In excess of 45 minutes for a burger and a chicken dish. Again, the restaurant was empty. Burger was cold. Fries were inedible... stale. The bread was also stale. Veggies on the burger were soggy... we were inedible. Lemon Chicken was covered in this white coagulated sauce that was disgusting. The mashed potatoes were dry, previously frozen, and from a box. The vegetables were soggy, rubber tasting, and completely inedible. $40 later and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Floors were filthy. Bathroom was disgusting. Staff was horrible and rude. Food was just inedible. Skip it, save yourself, go somewhere else. read more

Okay I usually do not write bad reviews BUT a PSA is needed! We used to come here often and was our go to. With that being said, we walked in expecting what we experienced in the past. Well that did not happen. The menu has been downsized by 70%! And no new items have been added. I order the hamburger special, since my options are LIMITED. My husband orders the meat lovers scramble and we wait... As we are waiting the owners walk in... not the managers the OWNERS! They gab regarding business with the server and she expresses how slow it's been etc. While this is happening our food is ready and the server brings us our food. Mine was COMPLETELY incorrect. It was some soggy roast beef sandwich, that I later learned was "tri-tip", and I let her know ordered the only hamburger on the menu, my husbands breakfast entree was correct. Of course we wanted to eat together but who wants cold eggs?! I let him know to go ahead and eat while I wait. Burger comes out... SO RAW THAT THERE WAS BLOOD ON MY PLATE AND IN MY MUSTARD! I kindly express that I would not be eating and the server was very apologetic. She went to the owner, Justin, who meanwhile is sitting at the countertop and scoffs in disbelief as I am standing there. I let him know that my husband and I not eating together was disappointing but was more disappointing was his lack of ownership. As he is doom scrolling on his phone he gives me the thumbs up and laughs! Mark my words JUSTIN will be the reason this restaurant closes before the summer. With the lack of leadership and accountability this place is doomed! To make matters worse, he has the audacity to come up to me and not apologize for my experience but for his subpar employees! SO SAD!! Another example of the lack of leadership! In the end we paid $22 for an egg scramble where the highlight was the toast and the ice tea. I love to bring my elderly aunt to this restaurant. The variety on the menu here is ridiculous. There is something for everybody and honestly I can't believe how they make all these delicious things every day. I often get the Mexican food, my aunt will get some sort of a sandwich, and my mom will get some home cooking. And then... Pie. I always feel like I've had a very satisfying meal. I went to Davidson's today (5/16/24) for the first time in 3 years. It was very good! When I ate there 3 years ago - not good at all. Since then they have changed hands, renovatated, and have good people in the kitchen! I had a basic BLT and it was worth coming back for. My friend had a breakfast special and liked it very much! I have been to this place several times in the past and it was always a pleasant experience, however this time was a bit of a shock due rude service, extremely high prices for everything on the menu ($7.50 for a cup of soup) and the fact that I couldn't even dry my hands in the restroom due to the lack of hand towels. So if you like jacked up prices, poor service and questionable sanitary conditions, this is the place for you. We ordered online as we were getting out vichle serviced next door. We're I went to pick up the first thing I notice was the pie and cake display. I was there on the 9/ 26th and there were items dated 9/18 in the case. When I said I had ordered on line on of the waitress asked another if that "do t they pay more online?" " Yep, they sure do" " she rurns back to me "Next time come in and youll save money." I found this very rude. We order the no carb breakfast. The eggs were grey iss and tasted old. The most disappointing meal ever. I grew up coming to this place. A family favorite. Everything is different and clearly just ordered from a food warehouse, nothing is homemade. Not even the dressings. The ranch was that sour store bought flavor and the clam chowder that used to be thick, creamy and full of flavor is now potato/clam flavored water, warmed. We are having the week from hell. So, we're eating out a lot. This Saturday morning we had to be Allstate in Tigard at 8am for the adjuster to look at our crunched fender, then we had to get my dad's meds from Costco at 9:30 because the hospital called them in to the wrong pharmacy after he discharged ( hubby waited in line at Aloha for too long to only to find this out),then we had to take our sick old cat to the vet. And our home PC crashed as in gone, kaput. Hubby is inconsolable. We were already tired by 9 am. Did I mention it was a long week? Comfort breakfast? Tigard? Davidson's. Poached eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast for me. Cinnamon roll french toast with eggs and bacon for him. Fine mostly (bacon not yummy, couldnt figure it out, flat and hard but not crispy salty or greasy....alien bacon!)and reasonably fast. Coffee?well, not awesome. Although the second cup from a new pot was better than the first cup. Davidson's is one of those comfy familiar old timey places. It is not trendy or precious or hipster. Certainly it is not fancy. On this day it filled a need. And in February they have 22 cent cherry pie.Sweet! I don't even eat pie and wouldn't even choose cherry, but that feels awesome, kinda like a good grandma hug. read more

I'm a big fan of old school diners. Their history, staff, decor, and menu choices are usually full of character history and hospitality. Sadly I can't say that's the case with this diner. Unfortunately only the history of this diner has anything going for it worth mentioning. Sadly the place is filthy, and the staff and owners are distracted and absent minded. The cook is moody, volatile, inpatient and overworked. Do not tell him you don't like your food because who knows what you'll get after that! The dishwasher wears gloves, and you might think that's a good thing, well not always, when you never change them between clean dishes and dirty, you end up with a nice coating of soggy food particles on everything you touch. When you try to explain this to kitchen staff you just get a blank stare! In fact, not just the server's station, but the entire kitchen staff can frequently be seen huddled up and gossiping like a group of teenage girls, the owners usually exchange gossip and banter along with them whenever they deign to grace the place with their presence. Unfortunately unless you speak Spanish don't expect to get much of anyone's time of day, as the owners of this American restaurant are Hispanic, and while their is absolutely nothing wrong with that, they haven't learned much English and don't require the rest of staff to speak it either. A fact that results in much misunderstanding between the owners and any non Spanish speaking staff. In fact they would like if everyone spoke Spanish and their hiring practices prove that. So unless you want Mexican food I don't recommend this restaurant and even if you do, there's ten other places with nicer staff and cleaner dishes within a two mile radius. read more

Came here for breakfast while we were in town for a wedding. I had been here once before a few years ago, it's definitely an oldie-but-goodie diner. (Lots of older clientele, with good home made food). I got a mushroom, spinach, and swiss omelette, it was devoured. If it was possible I would have tried a million other things like the cinnamon buns I always eye while I'm here, but I was sadly (and happily) full. For many years we frequented Davidson's and enjoyed their breakfasts and other offerings. We haven't been there since before Covid and were looking forward to a nice breakfast. It has changed ownership and is not the same place. We ordered the Chicken Fajita Omelet. Plenty of food but the omelet was very bland and the hashbrowns were over grilled. The wait staff was inattentive and we had to work to get there attention for more coffee or anything else. Frustrating because the restaurant was almost empty. Overall a poor experience. read more

Lovely diner/casual dining place. Stopped in here for a late breakfast while getting my car detailed at United Carwash. The ladies/waitress/hostess were all friendly, and the place has a nice vibe. Service was slow, and coffee didn't really get refilled in a timely manner. The coffee itself is the light roast easy drinking profile one expects in this sort of establishment. The food quantity to dollar ratio is high, and no way could I finish the meal. I had the ranchera omelette special with the verde sauce. Rich and tasty. The boxed hash browns were limp and blah, the English muffin ok. I'd come again if getting my car cleaned nearby or for some other errand. Clean and well lit. Well done! read more

Typical little neighborhood place serving good, solid comfort food. Kinda old-fashioned in that the waitresses call you "Hon" (at least ours did) and coffee is served out of those clear glass "bubble" carafes that have been burning on a hot plate all day! You probably ate somewhere just like this when you were a kid. Homey & warm ambiance with good flavorful and filling food with lots of chotskies scattered about. Davidson's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has favorites like chicken fried steak, fish & chips, beef stew, cobb salad and many other made from scratch dishes. The menu is fairly large but they are known for their cinnamon rolls, never a mistake to order. Davidson's is also known in for things you probably wouldn't suspect, their Mexican offerings, fish, and homemade root beer for example. Whatever you order, plan on taking half of it home, servings are very generous. Good, solid, American diner food. read more
