Alaska Roll, Tonkotsu Ramen, Green tea
    Alyssa H.

Always satisfied when I eat here! I've eaten here in person and gotten food to go several times. The food is always top par- the sushi is made fresh and the ramen has excellent flavor. The restaurant is so cute and well decorated, with much attention to the little details. The staff have always been kind, quick, and attentive. Today I got the Alaska roll and the Tonkotsu Ramen. I usually get the Spicy beef Ramen but the Tonkotsu was a nice change!

Food seems to have improved. The curry tofu ramen has great flavor but the next time, I'd choose chicken over tofu as the tofu itself was really bland. My husband thought the steak with fried rice was pretty decent. The steak was tender and seasoned well.

I wandered into this restaurant by chance as I was in this part of Portland unexpectedly. I found MiChi bright and cheerful and was greeted equally by Crystal and quickly seated. I ordered clam miso soup and agedashi tofu and several sushi rolls. The agedashi tofu was my least favorite dish as it was served with overly sweet dipping sauce that was served cold that did not match that piping hot freshly fried tofu. The clam miso soup was also underwhelming. However the sushi rolls were delicious! They were ample in size and fresh. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that has a sushi craving.

Went here for a lunch and it was very quick easy and fast service. I liked that they had sushi combos so I chose the one with the most options, I kinda wish they had more variety for these choices. Overall I thought the sushi was decent and the spot was very nice and clean and a good place to hang.

Another wonderful meal here! Service was quick, the servers were friendly and helpful, and our food was great (as per usual). We love coming here and will be back soon.

A hidden gem. I love a good lemon salmon roll and the lemon tree did not disappoint. I also enjoyed the blue tuna otoro roll.

Decided to give Michi a try after it was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. The exterior is deceiving for its size and decor; very understated. My favorite was definitely the Michi roll but everything was well prepared.

I was craving a hibachi dinner, so glad that we live close to Michi Japan. They have a huge menu . I decide to try the Hibachi Steak dinner, they served it with many veggies, noodles and lots of steak. Well worth the cost. The serving size was above average. So far everything that I have tried at Michi has been very well prepared.

It was a mother & daughter treat and since it was our first time here, the incredible menu of, dare I say, too many choices, made it difficult because we wanted it ALL! For starters, we shared Squid Salad. Delicious! We choose a bento box with sushi. Wonderfully Fresh. Did get photos this time. We cannot wait to go back !

Spicy miso ramen and Michi Roll

This place has some of the best sushi I've ever had. We ordered the Michi roll and Philadelphia roll. The salmon in the Philadelphia roll had a fantastic smokey flavor! The spicy miso ramen was very good for a sushi bar. It was a Saturday afternoon and the service was very good. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant but she was very attentive and quick. Overall definitely a great spot!

Inviting ambiance. Polite servers. Amazing food. Easy parking lot parking. I stopped by at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and it was surprisingly busy. I was quickly seated and ordered the Sake Aisuru Don and edamame. The Sake Aisuru Don (salmon sashimi, salmon belly, and minced salmon over rice) was extremely fresh. The meats were so refreshing and filling. The soft and silky salmon meats made my tastebuds sing. The edamame was portioned well and the light salt was nice. I'm pleased to have had an experience that makes me want to return!

Service is excellent at MiChi. They are striving to do their best with all aspects of the restaurant. They really listen to feedback. Food is still real good and fresh. I mostly go for the sushi nigiri and rolls. I find they cater to the American style with lots more sauce, artificial crab (Krab), and cream cheese. I'm not fond of these items in my sushi rolls. But the scorpion roll needs the color of the sauces to make it stand out as a scorpion. It is nicely done and tasty. Nigiri is priced as single items so when ordering 6 nigiri items you get 6 pieces not 12 like at some other restaurants. But the fish is fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere is real pleasant and I return a few times a month.

It was quiet, and we were seated quickly. I ordered the rice patty burger. I thought the taste was okay, it was a tad bit under seasoned but the sauce kinda made up for the flavor. The concept of a rice burger is interesting but it does get really messy because it breaks apart easily. The fries were delicious, though! The popcorn chicken was breaded nicely and had a great crunch and flavor. My partner loved the fried oysters. The squid was alright, it was a bit too chewy to bite into to tear. Katsu was super crunchy not too dry, just overall great. Matcha dessert was my favorite, you can really taste the high quality Matcha Powder they used. Just a great balance of sweetness, not too sweet. I recommend trying Kyuramen for their Omurice combo! Restaurant had stunning interior with the hexagons aesthetics. Overwhelming friendly and attentive staff.

The price is reasonable ($12 per bowl, no matter what favors of soup bases). The front line people always made sure to keep the bar table clean. On a crowded day for lunch, we sat down to see how Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya fared on this legendary Japanese dish. Though tempted by several options on the menu, we could not resist the calling of the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, which seemed to be the house favorite. Service was prompt and efficient, and they dished up a pair of bowls for us in hardly any time at all. Our assessment? Noodles. I've had ramen all over the place, and Kizuki wins top marks for its overall texture and consistency. If there's a better noodle in the world, I have yet to find it. It's got that perfect chew. Broth. The garlic tonkotsu broth is a winner. Obviously, you need to like garlic if you're going to like this broth, but it's a feature of the broth, and I didn't find it overwhelming. I didn't leave a single drop of it when I was done, which is all you need to know. Goodies. Kizuki includes high-quality ingredients that included a full soft-boiled egg, onions, bamboo shoots, pork chashu, seaweed (nori), and sprouts. I've been to some ramen shops that may have had more, and certainly some who have had less, but this is probably the best quality/quantity blend I've experienced. I might recommend splurging for the extra pork-belly, for those who are protein inclined, but still, top grades for the goodies. Kizuki is an expanding chain, and if other branches have the same formula, then they've done a great job preserving quality with a winning formula. While I only had the one menu item, it feels like the core principles wouldn't change much, so I'm pretty confident in a five-star for this place. Service was just as good as the food, despite it being a packed house. Well done, Kizuki! Arigato gozaimasu! いただきます!
