I made an online reservation and thought it was a little odd that it said *"we'll let you know if we can take it"* after submitting. I waited a few hours without hearing back, so I eventually called, and they confirmed they could get us in. I'm not a fan of this type of reservation system--it feels uncertain, and if a time slot isn't available, it probably shouldn't be selectable. That said, once we arrived on a busy Saturday night, we were seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise. We started with cocktails, which were fun and well-made. For appetizers, we ordered the Brussels sprouts (amazing!) and calamari. The calamari wasn't what we expected--the rings were so tiny they almost looked like little pieces rather than the usual size. For my main dish, I had the Pad Kee Mao. They brought out the wrong dish for my main. So they had to go back and remake it. The portion was generous, the flavors were spot-on, and the prices overall felt more than reasonable for the quality of food. Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive. Wrapping up PDX nacho week, Aji Tram never misses a beat with their offerings. This time it was the Bulgogi Nachos. I love this fusion style of nachos. The sauce they use in combination with the cheese is just amazing and the nacho chips are crispy and not soggy. Like seriously, this needs to be a regular item here. Where have these nachos been all my life?!? Oh and yes, I did use chopsticks to eat them. It just added to the experience and kept my hands clean. Win/win! But I'm telling you I couldn't stop licking the owl clean of that sauce. The other patrons were probably looking at me with an OMG expression, but I didn't care. It was that good. It was a slow afternoon so we were seated quickly and we just wanted to eat the nachos and move on to the next place for nachos. [gluten free review]: This place has been on my list for a while - not because I heard all about it, but because I had driven by it and always wondered what it had to offer. Now, typically a Friday night is not the best time to visit a place that doesn't take reservations, but upon arrival, we were greeted, waited in line for a few short minutes and then were seated in the bar area. (Be aware - we were just a party of 2 - families of 4-5 ppl waited around 20 min for a table). The staff was friendly and the ambiance was lively and family friendly. After getting seated, we took a minute to decide on our drinks and starters. The wait staff was extremely kind and patient, but didn't leave us hanging once. We ordered the lettuce wraps as a starter along with two of the spicy cocktails (we both tried a different one). The chicken that was served with the lettuce wraps gave a crunchy kung-pao type of flavor and we ate those SO fast. We ended up both ordering the spicy street noodles - my partner got the beef and I got the ground pork per my waiter's suggestion. We finished our meals and loved every bite start to finish!! The cocktails were absolutely banging with the spicy noodles we ordered ~ the sweet, tangy, tart, spicy flavors all melded together with the tequila for a delightful and fun experience. I've been here multiple times and I'm never disappointed. Tonight we had the veggie salad rolls, lettuce wraps & pad Thai. The lettuce wraps were exceptionally good and they used butter lettuce rather than iceberg. Menu is marked for GF, but watch out for fried items as they have a common fryer. Server was celiac aware and friendly. They do well taking your plate when done which I appreciate. We were near the bar so football games were visible. We've been loyal fans for years, loving the atmosphere, the wonderful staff, and of course the consistently amazing food and drinks. We recently rented it out for my 50th birthday celebration, and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things. The pricing for the party was incredibly reasonable, the food and drinks were exceptional (as always), and our guests couldn't stop raving that it was one of the best parties they'd ever attended. The service was outstanding from start to finish, and working with the manager, Adam, was an absolute pleasure. He made everything seamless and supported every detail we hoped to include. It honestly made us wonder if people come here to get drunk than the food, or if those enjoying it aren't familiar with real Thai cuisine. We ordered five dishes, and every single one was a salt bomb with strange, unbalanced flavors. Nothing tasted fresh or thoughtfully prepared. On top of that, the service from Adam? was very rude we were treated like an inconvenience just for calling in our order. I found it weird that their nachos weren't Asian-fusion inspired as much of their menu was, but I suppose it worked since it got a group of in to check them out. We ordered some of the appetizers and it was fine eating them alongside nachos. We sat inside and it was a pretty loud with ambient noise for me, so I might try sitting outside next time. I would rate this place 4.5/5 mostly because of the stellar service! We visited here on a Sunday and found it moderately packed but got a table right away. We ordered calamari, cauliflower, Thai noodle special and spicy noodles with tofu. Also got the Thai iced tea and mango lemonade both of which were delicious and fresh. The cauliflower was crispy, cooked to perfection and coated well with the sauce. The pickled ginger on top was the best thing about it. My only gripe would be that it wasn't spicy. The calamari was well received by the husband and it was a sizable portion! The husband got the Thai noodle special with an addition of shrimp (which was expensive but worth it) and he could not stop raving about it. The spicy noodles were well cooked, had lots of veggies and the tofu was well integrated into the dish (rather than just being added to it). Again my only gripe would be that it needs to be way spicier to be called spicy noodles. The highlight of our meal was our friendly server. There was a slight delay with getting my entree (which honestly I had not noticed) and she gave us complimentary spring rolls which were also delicious. My other wish for this place (in addition to "please make things three times spicer") would be to add more vegetarian options. They have a limited menu and we could tell that they do all of these dishes justice - but a couple more veggie options would make this a truly inclusive meal and one of the best spots in the area for us! read more

Flank steak, mushroom, corn, beets, pickled onion, kimchi, fried egg, gochujang chili sauce, jasmine rice- all mixed in a fire hot stone bowl. We ordered the cauliflower, the green beans, bibimbap and beef pad thai. The inside reminds me a little bit of a Flat Top Grill. It is fairly informal, and there are a lot of red tones. When recommended which restaurant is a must try in LO, I always heard Aji Tram. They have very tasty food and incredible GF options. It is pretty spendy and incredibly spicy... Every time we went (one time with family) it was so spicy! I can handle spice and love it, but some others can't. It's sooo crave-able. *CHICKEN WINGS are GF tempura battered, general tso's glaze & chili flake. So good! Not dry at all. Other items we tried: *BIBIMBAP - wasn't our favorite. Was very spicy but was also lacking a little flavor at the same time? Served in the traditional stone bowl which makes it perfect for winter. *PAD THAI - it was good. Very spicy again! But not my favorite pad Thai ever for $20. *STREET NOODLES - Now these were delish! I'd choose these over the pad Thai. However, it was borderline too spicy to eat.... We recently enjoyed dining inside again after doing takeout many times during Covid. We love their spicy fried chicken sandwich which definitely packs the heat! The Korean Street noodles with steak is another favorite although sometimes it can be salty. Last night my friend tried their version of a Phili Steak sandwich, a special, and raved about it. Packed with thinly sliced steak, it was flavorful and satisfying. They have a full bar and craft cocktails are definitely popular. Drinks are inventive, many include similar ingredients as their food. I had the ginger Lemondrop which was both sweet and had some heat. The environment is lively with families and groups of friends enjoying meals. There are a variety of tables and high tops. In the nice weather the garage type doors open and tables spill onto the sidewalk. . Since there is no carpet, just lots of hard surfaces, it can get loud inside. We went here for lunch and enjoyed three items: Bibimbap, Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen, and Chicken and Noodle (kids menu). My husband enjoyed their bibimbap in the hot stone pot. Great flavor and good portion. The sauce is a mild spice. My toddler enjoyed tender chicken on top of some thin noodles, which was perfect. No spice, she chose the teriyaki sauce. The waiter said kids like the peanut sauce even though there is a little spice to it, but it's not intense. I loved the Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen! It's not too salty like other places, it was perfect. Delicious broth with great ingredients (pork broth, chashu pork, wavy egg noodle, soft egg, corn, edamame, mushroom, cabbage). My favorite is the egg. They put 2 eggs that have so much flavor. My mouth is watering thinking about the egg. I recommend this dish! I didn't catch our waiter's name, but he checked on us often to make sure we were enjoying our meal and having a good first time at Aji Tram's. He was very friendly and attentive. Went for burger week. Burger ok but dry so asked for ketchup. Got about a teaspoon of ketchup. When bill came I was charged 50 cents for sauce ketchup. Mentioned to waiter and he seemed to think that was reasonable. WOW! I've never been charged for ketchup before. AVOID this rip off place. I mentioned this to a few people and they couldn't believe this place actually charges for ketchup.
