I really like this Elmer's. I have always gotten really good food here. The California omelette I had was great. I always get excellent service here too. It is a chain restaurant, so it looks like all the others but it is clean and well maintained. My only complaint was the air conditioning was really cranked up and we were cold.

Belgian Waffle with strawberries, bacon and eggs

I ate here a lot with my family as a child, and decades later the place still looks exactly the same. I had a very nostalgic experience here with the belgian waffle, bacon and eggs I ordered, which were all delicious. The only thing that was strange was that when it was time for the check, my waitress just disappeared? Not sure what happened there since I was one of the few tables in the restaurant.

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!

My son had a pancake with eggs and bacon, he did not eat the rest of his bacon he said it had an odd taste. I would share that they have a huge menu with many options. We're always zipping by on the way to or from someplace, so the opportunity to try it hadn't presented itself until one day last week, after a long dog walk, we happened to be in that area, and we opted for "linner". We used the walk-up window and were greeted warmly. The person who took our order was also training someone new and seemed patient. While we didn't go inside, it looked bright and clean. I had no idea the menu would be as extensive as it was. There were several burger and sides options and a mahoosive selection of milkshake flavors. I ordered a cheeseburger meal with tots and a dark chocolate milkshake. My hubby got a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. I wish we had eaten our meals on site rather than driving home, or at least thought to vent our hamburger bags. Because the burgers were in foil pouches and I failed to vent them, the bun and shredded lettuce got soggy. Overall, the flavor was good, and I'm sure it would have been better had we eaten there or vented the burger bags. I did open the bag so the fries and tots would be okay, and they were still crispy and tasty. The milkshakes were delicious. Sure, you could argue even a bad milkshake is still good, but these were pretty darned tasty. Thick but not undrinkably or ear-popping thick. All in all, Mike's is a definite do-over for us.

The biscuits were not biscuits. They were so hard and flat I thought it was sourdough slices but it was a handmade biscuit but very hard, flat, and tough. Worst I've ever had. They were rubbery and chewy but not grainy like gf tends to be. They were fluffy. Overall I'd have preferred regular pancakes. The waitress suggested them to me instead of the French toast which she told me wasn't very good and vegan French toast is hard to do (not true I do it at home... but appreciate the honesty). The tempeh bacon, tofu scramble, and sausage was also applauded at the table but I didn't personally try it. I found the chicken too chewy but others like it. The carrot cake was good but the icing is a lot. Very rich and sweet. I'm probably the only person who likes a more savory icing everyone else liked the cake but agreed you couldn't eat a whole slice yourself. the coffee was great and they kept refilling in true diner style. Menus were provided and then we heard the magic words... "What can I get you guys? Coffee? Water? Tea? A beer? A glass of wine?" A WHAT? Ma'am! It is 11:00 AM. Did you just offer me BEER and WINE? Yes, yes she did. And yes, yes we accepted. So let's pause. If you've not thrown back a glass of white wine with eggs, you're missing out. Seriously, rethink your life and try it. You're welcome.
