Service was incredibly bad. The place wasn't too busy but there was 6 different tables waiting to be bussed and the person working the front just sat on his phone. The tables that were unoccupied were sticky. The set up is -- order at the front, seat yourself and get water for your self. The food was decent but my pork was not warm one bit, it's like it had been sitting all day and served with fresh rice. I'd much rather had driven farther to get warm, fresh food next time around. read more

I had a great experience here. The interior is nicely decorated and I really liked the seating layout. There was a decorated Christmas tree and music was playing. All very nice. I didn't get to try their milk teas but I did have the vegetarian pho. The broth was very flavorful and the veggies all very fresh (the sprouts nice and crunchy) and the veggies brightly colored (broccoli, carrots, basil, green onion, jalapeno). This one included mushrooms, which I could tell were also fresh and tofu. I didn't care for the tofu's taste. I would have preferred plain, firm tofu instead of what is probably fried tofu. I added some sauce (from the table condiments) to the tofu and that helped. I was able to take my leftovers home in a plastic container. read more

You order at a kiosk and can customize your order with type of broth and modifications (e.g. no mushrooms, yes cilantro, extra tofu etc). The veggie pho (vegan) was delicious and my omnivore partner said it was the most flavorful veggie broth he's ever had. Noodles were thin and chewy and included lots of veggies, and I customized to have fresh tofu instead of fried. Would go again! read more

I'm here visiting for a wedding and my group decided to visit this place for lunch today. I love bird's nest and I was excited to see this on the menu. When I ordered this, it originally came with seafood but the person at the counter said I can substitute chicken instead. Overall, it was a rather delicious dish. The noodles were very crispy and there was an ample of protein and veggies. The brown sauce was not too salty and gave it the right flavor it needed. My only critique was that the chicken to me felt like the wrong cut to use. The chicken pieces looked more to be used in a pho dish then this kind of this. So much pho, so little time. The food at Pho Tiger rivals the best at many of my other favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The one thing I LOVE the most is that they serve all the usual phos, salad rolls, egg rolls, vermicelli bowls, rice plates AND bahn mi sandwiches. It's hard to find such a menu out there. We've dined in pre-COVID and usually do takeout now. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. You place your order at the counter, help yourself to water, utensils, get your beverage and condiments at the side bar and pick where you want to sit. The giant painted tiger on the wall is beautiful and very impressive. The photos of farmers working in the rice fields (I think) are beautiful too. There's even a tiny enclosed space for those who have to have their gambling fix (???) The tables are clean and seating is quite comfortable. There is a TV always on but I've never heard the sound. I'm happy they've weathered the pandemic problems and have remained excellent. Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are just about right. I've never been disappointed in my order and will keep Pho Tiger high on my Vietnamese food rotation list. read more

On a Friday lunch hour, the place was clean and easy to find. I ordered the Pho Tai Sach, which is my standard staple to see how a pho spot stands up. Unfortunately, it was nothing special. The quantity and quality of the protein was okay. It could have been stronger with more meat especially since I ordered the large. The broth was okay. It didn't have a memorable flavor with the broth base. It would have been stronger if it had more flavor particularly more beef broth. The veggies was missing cilantro in the broth. So, I just thought it was an okay spot. Feel free to adventure out here if you like, but I might pass unless I'm really feeling like a bowl of pho. read more

No jalapeño in a banh mi? :( so sad Not the best banh mi I've had but still good. I loved how light and fresh the baguette was and the service was very friendly. Also, I'm not used to having cucumber in my banh mi, which I'm not sure I liked. I'm happy to have had a nice quick lunch here. read more

Some of us got some things off the lunch menu which included an appetizer. Some ordered the miso soup and since they did not have lemongrass clam chowder, i opted for the asian salad. When both apps came out, the miso soup color looked very displeasing. First off, it was green which isn't a normal miso paste color at all and just tasted like seaweed water. No flavor whatsoever. I got my asian salad which didn't look fresh at all after waiting more than 10 minutes for it already. On top of that, there was nothing asian about it, except the crumbs of raw instant ramen on top, which I felt was almost lightweight racist? There were so many different ways to make an asian salad for example, mandarin slices with wontons crisps, a sesame dressing etc. but it just felt like a prepackaged bag of salad that was also brown around the edges and they just sprinkled raw instant noodles crumbs on top to make it "asian". I deff felt some type of way about that, but I didn't bring it up at the end of the day because that's too much critique to do when we're just trying to have a meal.

All the critters looked alive and active - always a good sign. Now I'm used to going to Chinatown in Chicago/SF to get my live crab and that's a whole different kind of experience. You have to make your way past the live frogs, softshell turtles and other 'alternative' protien sources as you order up your clams and crustaceans but Daxing is a much more mainstream experience. No funky stuff...at least in the front where people can see. Looks like they're expanding too. They're just putting in some shelves and stocking up on grocery items so this should be a place where you can get most of your asian shopping done. The prices are cheap to reasonable. For the most part, everything here I found was cheaper than Uwajimaya. The produce secion is very small though. This place is a grocery store by the way - not a restaurant.

Vegetarian options are limited; vegetarianism just isn't a big part of Latin American culture or cuisine... or most other cuisines either. If you insist on vegetarianism, go to a restaurant whose cuisine emphasizes it rather than expecting others to somehow adapt to it. The food here is great and it's a great experience.
