Perfectly reasonable and tasty place to get a nice breakfast! Nice throw back vibes with the 60s style booths, decor and music. The breakfast menu had some bright spots. The sausage gravy and biscuits was quite tasty and peppery with the biscuit being very fresh and soft with a great salty/buttery taste. Bacon was grilled really great and cant ask for better over medium eggs. All of my dining companions enjoyed their breakfasts as well and the coffee was quite good! The service was fine - I could tell it was a newer server, but they did great and was very friendly. I couldn't tell if it was the owner or manager there, but he was also quite nice and made sure we were really well taken care of. It was very quiet when we were in there, but came back for donuts next door the following day and the place was packed - seems to be a great spot in general and I would definitely come back!

Love the atmosphere of this authentic 60s influenced diner! Friendly and excellent service. Best milkshakes/malteds in town!

Ok so we were headed to Dave's Hot Chicken after my son's football games on Saturday (August 24th). We were heading down the road when my son saw the neon sign on the facade. We took a hard right into the parking lot. As we entered the restaurant it flashed me back to being a kid, although not 100% of the way. There were tons of nostalgic pics of Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Betty Boop (cartoon I know lol), and tons of other stuff. The music was amazing, tons of Bob Dylan was what I really noticed. I was totally ok with that. I wasn't even expecting to order a milkshake, but after my son told me how good it was in Lincoln City, how could I say no? I am glad I didn't ask for "extra thick" like I usually have to or else the straw would have probably been totally useless. My shake (I got peanut butter) was thick and delicious. Basically it was desert before dinner. Not this is when the nostalgia wore off. All three of us got Bacon Cheeseburgers. We all had special requests. Long story short(er), we had to send them back two, (possibly three) times . I ended up just eating mine and finishing long before my son and wife. My burger was dry and meh. I didn't get the sauce on my burger and got curly, instead of regular fries that I ordered. For a diner i would have expected slightly greasy and juicy burger. I think they totally flipped my wife and son's order, but took a long time to get it right. The manager did come over to verify the errors (might not be exactly as i documented). She also encouraged us to come back. When we dined it was really slow (about 2:45), but advised it was a "long day". The restaurant was fun, and my wife and son (and I) had fun watching all the retro cartoons, but the food left a lot to be desired.

I recently stumbled upon the 60's Cafe & Diner while my friend had a meeting in Tualatin. As a huge fan of 50s and 60s-themed establishments, I was immediately drawn to the retro decor and classic vibe. The menu may have been simple, but the one item that caught my eye was the chicken fried steak. I've tried this dish at countless diners across the country, and I can be quite picky. To my delight, the chicken fried steak exceeded my expectations. The steak was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside. The gravy was rich and flavorful, complementing the savory steak beautifully. Beyond the delicious food, the atmosphere at the 60's Cafe & Diner was truly charming. The vintage decor, complete with old-school jukeboxes and classic memorabilia, transported me back in time. I think I'm going to need to get back here for lunch and/or dinner too!

Went here to do a photo shoot, was pleasantly surprised that the milkshake was amazing and that the fries were fried to perfection! This is definitely a classic, and I hope it stays around much longer!

Let me just tell you about how amazing this place and this team is: Less than two full days before my event, myself and the manager realized that a miscommunication occurred and they hadn't been fully informed about the $500 order for 18 people that I was expecting to pick up. Didn't matter- Jack and his team managed to come through, on time, with a smile and a sense of humor. This place has amazing food, and I know because we basically ordered it all. The service is outstanding- like it's really the 60s! We could not be happier and more impressed.

HOLY CRAP!!! First thing was sticker shock, THEN when the food came, it was like HOLY CRAP how am I gonna eat all of that myself !! The wife and I could have split the Bacon cheese burger and fries and been stuffed instead of OVERSTUFFED!!! I had to bounce my belly just to move. So DON'T let the price fool you, you definitely get what you paid for. AND we will be back!!!!!!

60's theme restaurant complete with music playing, cartoons from the 60's and dishes reminiscent of those found in diner's during that era. The bar serves drinks, boozy shakes and beer on tap. Food is very good and service is with a smile. Plenty of seats and large comfortable booths. Everyone in our family enjoyed both young and old. Good food, good drink, good service in a fun themed restaurant. We will be back.

We went here for the first time. Decorated in red and white. Reminds me of "Happy Days" show theme. 60s celebrities and photos on the walls. Very nostalgic. I ordered a cheeseburger with curly fries and my counterpart ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It came out quickly. The burger was humongous and so much curly fries right out of the fryer. Pickles were on the side. They had a jukebox. 60s cartoons were playing on the four television set. Peabody and Sherman, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Felix The Cat and Casper The Ghost was playing when we were eating. The entry way had white Cadillac sitting area great for pictures!!!

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!

I ordered a scrambled, it had eggs, veggies, cheese and potato's and jalapeños. It was a very large portion of food. My son had a pancake with eggs and bacon, he did not eat the rest of his bacon he said it had an odd taste. I would share that they have a huge menu with many options. Elmer's is always solid I might add - so we weren't relinquishing anything. We ordered seasonal breakfast items and a coffee and a couple mimosas. Everything was great! Everything was also super expensive! Now to be fair, my husband always has to order a savory and a sweet item, so we got more food than we needed but it was nearly $100 bucks after tip. Entrees were basically $20 a pop. I really, really do like Elmer's, but it shouldn't be a toss up between Elmer's and Fogo De Chao - the two for two would literally have been within a ten dollar difference. In my head without paying attention I imagined in the $12-14 per plate price point. I regret nothing, but was just taken aback by the pricing, and the difference of how high it is in comparison to a Cafe Murrayhill, Store Street Cafe, or even Babica Hen. All less expensive per plate by quite a bit. Will we go back to Elmer's, I'm sure. But thought it was worth noting!

We're always zipping by on the way to or from someplace, so the opportunity to try it hadn't presented itself until one day last week, after a long dog walk, we happened to be in that area, and we opted for "linner". We used the walk-up window and were greeted warmly. The person who took our order was also training someone new and seemed patient. While we didn't go inside, it looked bright and clean. I had no idea the menu would be as extensive as it was. There were several burger and sides options and a mahoosive selection of milkshake flavors. I ordered a cheeseburger meal with tots and a dark chocolate milkshake. My hubby got a double bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. I wish we had eaten our meals on site rather than driving home, or at least thought to vent our hamburger bags. Because the burgers were in foil pouches and I failed to vent them, the bun and shredded lettuce got soggy. Overall, the flavor was good, and I'm sure it would have been better had we eaten there or vented the burger bags. I did open the bag so the fries and tots would be okay, and they were still crispy and tasty. The milkshakes were delicious. Sure, you could argue even a bad milkshake is still good, but these were pretty darned tasty. Thick but not undrinkably or ear-popping thick. All in all, Mike's is a definite do-over for us.
