Food and service were just ok. View was amazing and made up for it. I would come back and sit at the bar and order Apps. Expected better quality Shrimp from a place like this. Oh well, maybe next time.
Dauphin's is such a treat! I take clients there to eat every time I'm in town and everyone leaves amazed. The food and the service is always amazing. The ambiance is elegant and perfect for meetings. I would love to try something new on the menu, but I just can't turn down the banana docks chicken. The chicken is perfectly juicy every time!
Been a few times, and I highly recommend their brunch! Their dinner is good, but definitely more pricey. Brunch is reasonable and very tasty! Plus you can see the views during the day! Service was very nice! We made a reservation, and though our whole party wasn't there, when we asked if we could go ahead and be seated they took us back. Ordered: Joe Cain dip - spinach and artichoke dip but elevated. Could eat with a spoon! Breakfast bowl - everything was cooked well Royal st. Rooster - huge chicken sandwich! Said sidewinder fries, but was told later they didn't have any which was a bummer Fried gulf shrimp - fried perfectly Eggs a la bama - love fried green tomatoes! And the potatoes were great
Finding the place was a bit of a challenge, but as long as one could locate the correct door, there would be a sign that points in the right direction. My partner and I went straight to the top floor and were seated in a spot that allowed us to see the entire city view. It was very clear that this was a fine dining spot, because I was given a blazer by the restaurant staff since I failed to dress up for this occasion. I have never tried alligator meat before and managed to taste it for the first time here. It tasted like popcorn chicken and having Thai chili sauce was a good move because it offered the dish good flavor. I didn't use any of the ranch dressing. The gulf shrimp chowder was extremely tasty because it contained a good amount of black pepper and a lot of shrimp and cream corn, making the soup taste creamy in a flavorful way. My partner had great things to say about the duck, which was a specialty dish. The maple glaze was obvious and provided the duck breast meat with good flavor. However, the green beans were very plain with barely any seasoning. I ordered the farmer's plate, which was a vegetarian dish, and I thought that it was overall only okay because the snow peas were very undercooked, and they occupied majority of the dish. The green tomatoes, tomatillos, and zucchini all tasted very good. In terms of desserts, the chocolate cake was very hot and moist inside, which made it clear that it was fresh. The outer crust was very crispy but the inside tasted too plain. The key lime pie was very well-made, with a soft layer of graham crackers along with tasty mango syrup and hibiscus reduction defining the extra taste. Overall they both tasted great. I must mention that our server Ashleigh was very attentive and helpful. My partner and I appreciated her help a lot during our experience. Also, it was good to listen to some quiet live performances during the dinner because it added an extra level of vibe.
My family and I stopped here during a drive through Alabama. My father-in-law wanted a nice dinner with a view, and this place certainly delivers on the scenery. The view of Mobile is gorgeous. The interior itself feels pretty dated though. Our server Ev was friendly and gave great recommendations, but the rest of the staff had an attitude. Hard to act that fancy when the food is this inconsistent. Appetizers were actually the highlight of the meal. The 5 Rivers gator bites were excellent with an amazing dipping sauce. The mussels were big and well prepared, though the garlic white wine sauce was a bit underwhelming. We also tried some fish cakes that were dry with an overly mustardy sauce. Entrees were where things went downhill. My Steak Diane was not worth $44. The sauce was watery, the mashed potatoes had a weird aftertaste, and while the steak was tender it just wasn't juicy. The seafood pasta my family got was better, so that's a win, but another entree i don't remember the name of left them feeling meh. For dessert, the cheesecake tasted like it came straight from the refrigerator section at a grocery store. The bread pudding was genuinely good though.
Oh my what a view and the ambiance is perfect for lunch or an intimate dinner. But most importantly, great friendly staff.
Perfect for lunch! We walked in and were immediately seated by a window. The view during the day is spectacular. It's a very professional setting. Service was on point. We were served French bread with two different flavors of butter. Our entrees were huge for a lunch portion and delicious. This is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to eat!. I had fried shrimp and asparagus and he had a chicken sandwich that rivaled any I have ever seen!
Now this is always a staple for us to go to when we visit Mobile as my father is from there we always come from Mardi Gras and Christmas. The views are spectacular. Ambience is great. Service is great food unmatched.
We went to Dauphins for lunch Food was great Uncle Willie's Shrimp Tacos, LA" PAELLA , Shrimp'n grits, Shrimp platter. Service was great Ambience was great I have to give 5 stars because 6 wasn't an option.
View was amazing. Food (cheese board) was so so (crackers were stale, I was too lazy to send them back). The waitress was awful. She not only forgot small plates for the cheeseboard. She forgot silverware. She forgot our second order. And she forgot to come back and ask for the second drink . Dress is upscale. But you can dress casual and sit in the chairs as you come in by the bar.
Me and a group of friends had a reservation for a birthday dinner at Dauphin's. The reservation was relatively late so we were one of the last parties. It was a quiet night and the staff was so sweet. The bartender made me a drink that I didn't really like so she replaced it with a custom drink. I told her I love hibiscus and tequila so she made me a hibiscus margarita/martini. It was so good that several of the ladies in my group ordered it as well. I ordered the Joe Cain Dip which I wasn't a huge fan of. It wasn't bad, just not my favorite. The Pasta Del Mar made up for it 10000%. The food was hot and perfectly plated. Nothing was overcooked and the mussels were really good. Also, our server was absolutely amazing. She made sure to answer all of our questions and was very detailed in her descriptions of the different menu options. It was my first time going to Dauphin's for dinner but it definitely won't be my last.
The view as we're great! I really enjoyed the steak salad! My steak was absolutely cooked perfectly. Kenneth our server was amazing as well. He was so amazing the whole time! The dessert was delicious. I would definitely come back. It's the perfect place to get dressed up for! Only small issues I had was the food took a really long time to receive. Including the dessert as well. The bathroom could use some updating as well. Other than that it was such a great experience

I went there for my birthday expecting a special experience and was sadly disappointed. The waitress was a cold batch who forgot to give us water. She claimed we had to ask for it. The water was chilled but had no ice nor Lemons. She claimed we had to ask for that too and never brought us Lemons even later..... My shrimp and grits looked like vomit, my cocktail had very little alcohol if any.... My friend's fish was mildly ok but the Mexican black beans did not go with the fish and actually made her sick. The other dish was also not done right just Chopped up chicken thrown into something stringy....nothing special for my birthday was offered.....like I said, that $100 lunch was not worth 50cents ..... the cheapo Mexican restaurant was 100% better...... read more

My wife and I decided to go here for our 11th wedding anniversary. We called to make a reservation but they were booked up. But we decided to try any way. So glad we did. We sat at the bar and honestly we had an even better time there than we would have had at a table. Hannah and Tyler were absolutely amazing. The food and drinks were beyond our expectations. Thanks so much Dauphin's for making our anniversary an epic night. Best dish was the crab claws. A must try. And the special touch on our dessert was very touching. read more

Sadly, this was my first time at Dauphine's! It was superb! I met my sister and Dad for lunch and nothing disappointed. I had the poke bowl which packed a nice kick, my sister got the Caesar Salad which was delicious and my Dad got the Friday special and loved it. Our server was super nice, well everyone we came in contact with was super nice and hospitable! My son (3) had the kids grilled cheese sliders and fruit, he didn't eat much at all but I am pretty sure the view was overwhelming him and he was itching to get back to the square to see the very friendly squirrels. I can't wait to go back and try many other items, like the Rooster Sandwich...I just didn't want to fall asleep on my way back across the bay! Oh and the complementary butter which includes a raspberry butter and fresh bread was such a nice touch! read more

Our family enjoyed a lovely Friday lunch at Dauphin's in downtown Mobile. Even on a Friday afternoon, parking was available on the street. This restaurant sits on the 34th floor overlooking Mobile Bay. Our server, Olivia, was hospitable and entertaining and well-versed on the menu choices. Each dish was beautifully served and cooked to perfection! Lunch menu prices were very affordable for such a gorgeous view with the feel of a fine dining experience. This might be the best kept happy hour secret in Mobile. Views are great! Bring guests here if they're visiting Mobile. M-F 3-6 pm, rooftop bar, half-off drinks (including bottles) which means delicious cocktails from $6. We also shared a bottle of prosecco for half price :) For food, you can get sliders for $2, poke was delicious and only $8. I went on a Friday, and there was live pianist playing and singing. Service was meh as my water glass wasn't filled or attempted to be filled for the hour I was there. But it was pretty busy at the time. Would go back! read more

Had the pleasure of dining solo at Dauphin's on a work trip. Kel was my server and was phenomenal. She was so attentive and checked on me the perfect amount of times. She packed my to-go items for me and also gave me bread and the delicious hibiscus butter to-go. I had the best filet, albeit overcooked for my liking, but it was still super tender and flavorful. I had the mashed potatoes and corn for my sides. I also ordered a créme brûlée to go, which I wouldn't have thought would be an option. Everything was divine! Dauphin's, formally the Bienville Club is the place to eat for dinner with a view. Dauphin's is located 34 floors above the city and offers patrons a panoramic view of the city and the bay! We were recently in for a. Easter brunch and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased with how everything went. We were seated promptly at a comfortable table and began to peruse the menu. We ordered cocktails a mimosa and old fashioned. The old fashioned was very good and the mimosa she seemed to enjoy! Our waiter took the appetizer orders for our party of four, beignets, pork belly, crawfish and crab cakes, and ahi poke tuna! The crawfish and crab cakes were delightful! Full of crab and crawfish with a slight crunch to the cake and very flavorful. The pork belly and the beignets didn't disappoint either, all had great flavor and were perfectly cooked. Next I had to try one of the 100 things to eat before you die and gave the Zherb Gumbo a shot, man it was absolutely one of the best soup I've ever eaten. Ham hocks, conecuh sausage and broth with rice, collards and turnips... it's the entire south in a soup! For an entree I had the 3 eggs and 3 sides, tried some crispy cooked conecuh bacon, stone ground Gouda grits, scrambled eggs, and some rosemary potatoes, all we stupendous. She had the fish tacos which she said were very good, and the rest had the delta omelet which was massive and delicious and the pecan encrusted sheepshead which he really enjoyed! For dessert we piled in some Creme Brûlée and some bread pudding with vanilla ice cream! In now see why the chef has won the cajun cook off two years in a row! Dauphin's is located on the 34th floor of the trustmark bank building in downtown Mobile. The view is amazing. What a great way to enjoy a meal by overlooking Mobile. The menu has options that everyone could enjoy. Dauphin's brunch is by far my favorite menu of theirs. This visit I enjoyed the 3 eggs & 3 sides dish which was delicious. The $5 mimosas are also a grand slam. On Sundays there is also a live saxophonist playing great hits. I can't get enough. read more

Fantastic views with excellent attentive service from Stevie B. Everything we ate: gumbo, fried catfish, and creole shrimp were all outstanding. Black beans and coconut rice also a surprise standout. Parking on the street can be difficult, but the meal is worth it. read more

It was a nice place to stop and had my dinner on my way home to Mississippi. Parking on the street. Wish they have valet parking. Reservation required for main dining room. So, I end up dining at the bar. The view of the city was ok from the bar area. The waitress at the bar was friendly and fast in service. The menu was great. Price was $$$. The western Indian salad was refreshing. The crab and crawfish cake were tasty. The rack of lamb was great due to the seasoning and the way it was grilled. Above average noise ( bar area). 6/25/21 - My friend and I were looking for a nice lunch to catch up. We decided on Dauphin's, so we booked a reservation for a window table the night before on OpenTable. We were sat at one of the best spot to take in the beautiful view of the Mobile Bay. We food was amazing, the server, Ken, was wonderful, and the Host was incredible. The entire atmosphere and service was wonderful. The price is very good for what you get. We also shared a petit bread pudding that was decadent. My friend got the Thyme Out and I got the Piña de Plata that was very refreshing. read more

This restaurant has such a beautiful view if the city, it really sets the mood for your experience. The hostess were personable and gave us the option to be seated right away or wait for the rest of our party to arrive. The food was delicious but took a while to come out. The complimentary biscuits were a nice touch and I love the hibiscus butter. The live musician played a variety of songs both old and new. All the beignets were overcooked, instead of being a nice golden brown they were very dark chocolate brown and not fluffy. read more

A beautiful restaurant on the top of the RSA Tower in downtown Mobile. The restaurant has a beautiful view of Mobile from nearly every seat. The menu is excellent and has daily lunch specials with reasonable pricing. I had the fish of the day which was fresh flounder. It was covered in a sauce with sides of squash and coconut rice. The staff are very attentive. There is a piano for happy hour. What's not to love about this great place? I will be back very soon for dinner. read more

Best crab cake I have ever had. Wow. The rest of the food was good-great. Alcoholic drinks tasted a little watered down. I ended up being overcharged $40 because the server didn't do her job. And I had to call the restaurant several times in the subsequent days to get the money back. Hopefully that wouldn't happen again upon returning. read more

In town for one day and had a local tell me about Dauphins It was very very good! I had the fried shrimp poboy. Granted. It isn't a Parasols Po boy from NOLA... but. It was good. The remoulade was some of the best I've ever had. Not a fan of the "fries". They were like huge chunks of fried potatoes????? The shrimp and corn chowder was the soup today and it was quite tasty! Nice lunch today, but the service and presentation weren't up to normal par. I went with some colleagues today and had the fish of the day. It was grill speckled trout with the tequila vinaigrette. The filet was a bit ugly and petite. However, it was cooked deliciously and the tequila vinaigrette was a great addition to he white fish. The black beans and rice side was satisfying; I could taste the sprinkle of cumin! And the squash was southern quality good. read more

Just Fabulous!! Great food, express lunch service and incredible views! Dauphin's has finally worked out its kinks - the new general manager is the type of guy who's hands on and it has become my favorite lunch spot. You'll first start with their cornbread served with whipped butter and one of their special butter creations. The Shrimp Creole with rice was spicy and so tasty but it did make me sweat. Between their fried catfish or fried flounder, I preferred their catfish. The fried shrimp is also very good. Their smothered squash and cheese grits are my two favorite sides. Yesterday I got to sample the Poke - tuna sashimi seasoned on a bed of sushi rice surrounded by cucumber slices - it was a wonderful treat! Thank you Ms Whitney! We are looking forward to our Christmas party there! read more
