We enjoyed. Great atmosphere and even better service. Food was a little pricey but hey, everything is expensive now. Nice place to visit, even if only for appetizers.

Grace on Dauphin : RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE (I arrived 10 minutes early , and was instantly seated) Dauphin Street Rooftop Bar (open in the evenings) Envy Beverage (Rum,Cucumber,Mint) ; Very Refreshing Pride Beverage (Anejo,Agave,Lemon,Rose) ; Pretty good although I would've went with a fancier drink next time. The Envy was by far my favorite. Spinach & Artichoke Dip w/ Warm Pita. Wagyu Meatloaf w/ Duck Fat Gravy , Mashed Potatoes & Collared Greens. The meatloaf was phenomenal and it wasn't too heavy of a meal. The savory flavors and tender textures of this course were very satisfying. Very tender and moist, yet holding its shape without being mushy. Fast service , and very respectful employees. The staff at Grace was efficient and attentive. (took my order without writing it down & showed respect) I look forward to returning. Definitely a go to spot here in Down-Town Mobile. (5-10 min walk from the City)

We were told about Grace from a friend so we decided to check them out. When we first got there, the restaurant was empty, but by the time we left, it was packed. I would recommend getting a reservation even during the week if you decide to go. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I loved that they also had a rooftop bar, but on this particular night, it was very cold and windy and I didn't see any fire pits or heat lamps so we didn't want to stay on the rooftop. Keep in mind, while the restaurant is nice, it is very dim so it can be hard to see. There were little lamps at our table that helped some, but it was still dark. I even saw a waitress adjust a lamp near the register so she could see. We ordered a few apps, which included the fried green tomatoes, wontons, and the spinach dip. All were very tasty, but I will say the wontons were a nice size but didn't have enough stuffing in them. So it was like you were eating a lot of shell. Also the fried green tomato's although delicious, the crispy texture was drowned out due to the amount of sauce that was on top. It was just too much sauce. For dinner, I ordered the braised beef short rib ragout. I didn't want the mushrooms, but they couldn't take them out so I ordered the dish anyways. It was pretty good. Our waitress said it was spicy, but in my opinion, it wasn't. I also noticed that the tomato sauce was a bit watery...But still a decent dish. All in all, everyone enjoyed their meals. I did notice by the time we received our meals and then were done, our waitress disappeared. I had to ask her twice for a to-go cup and bag so maybe she got really busy because by then, the restaurant was packed. Nonetheless, I would visit again to try a different dish.

We arrived Thursday at our reservation time of 6:30 and seated right away but, in a nearly empty restaurant. The only noise we heard was from the street because the front windows were open. Parking was difficult tonight, I am guessing there was a convention in town (neck badges eveywhere) The last time we were here, the place was packed. Our waiter gave us more attention than we needed or wanted since we were his only table. We ordered drinks and fried green tomatoes with lump crabmeat for the table, they were very tasty. Next, I ordered the braised short rib ragout, and also the side of blue cheese potatoes caught my eye, so I ordered as a side. The short rib was tasty but, the potatoes had no bluecheese flavor whatsoever, very dissapointing. She and our guest both ordered the pan roasted duck breast, it was recomended to be cooked to medium rare, both of them accepted. When the duck (both of them) arrived it was cooked beyond medium. It was just ok. This visit felt like 3.5 star visit but, given our past experience, I leaned toward 4 stars vs. 3 stars. This was a dissapointing visit, however, anyone can have a bad night. We will try them again.

Review Time: Grace (Mobile, AL) Time to knock the dust off the keyboard and take a minute to freshen up an old passion of mine. I know I have been away, but my other half and I have not taken the time to try any new, inspirational restaurants lately. We did, however, decide to take an overnight trip to Mobile, AL, to see the latest jaw-dropping Chinese Lantern Festival at Bellingrath and to try out a new contemporary restaurant named "Grace". I am excited to see if Executive Chef Mark Strickland has brought a much-needed casual fine dining experience to the Coast of Alabama? I loved the clean and simplistic décor of the restaurant, which means you can come dressed to impress, or if you spent the day on the water, come in with your t-shirts and sandals. This is especially true if you want to spend some time on their beautiful rooftop bar, where you can dine as well. Our server, please forgive me once again, was extremely attentive and did an amazing job suggesting appetizers and desserts. You'd better come here hungry, because Chef Mark does nothing here small scale. I will say Chef does have an extremely creative, simplistic palate. We started with the phenomenal Poutine and West Indies Bruschetta. This was probably some of the best and crispiest fresh-cut fries I have ever had in my life. The duck fat gravy was perfectly seasoned with a smooth texture, but his spin was the delicious fried cheese curds. Simplicity at its finest was the amazingly acidic West indies crab, which was all crab with a little fresh chopped onion with beautifully sweet heirloom tomatoes and toasted baguette. My other half ordered the succulent Beef Short Rib Pasta Ragout, and I decided on the massive Half Roasted Chicken. The short rib ragout was perfectly balanced with flavor. All of the ingredients, short rib, Marzano tomato, spinach, mushrooms, and garlic, were paired perfectly, as well as the precise preparation of the pappardelle pasta. This Chef definitely provides you with half of a chicken, which was extremely moist and tender. The beautifully roasted carrots and broccolini were an excellent match with the rustic preparation of the chicken, but this southerner's delight of cornbread dressing took me back to Thanksgiving with a delicious lemon thyme pan au jus. Prepare your to-go boxes, and don't forget about dessert, because this Banana Foster Tres Leche is sure to win anyone over. Whether you have a sweet tooth or want something on the light side, it can please anyone's palate. The amazingly dense, but extremely moist, sponge cake was perfectly executed; but the knock it out of the park bruleed bananas was the true star of the show. I have not had anything bruleed this good in a long time. I could have eaten a tray full of these bananas, so make sure to order extra!!! Overall Review: ambience and wonderful service (10/10), with perfectly decadent, simplistic execution of food (10/10). It has been a long time since I was inspired to write a review, but hold on to your reservations Grace, because your recognition will not go unnoticed. So, if you want an over-night getaway and some palate pleasing food; don't miss out on a new Chef in Mobile, Mark Strickland, be sure to "Grace" them with your presence.

Great place for a nice date out! All the food was great! And the servers were very nice. We went as a big group, but they kept up with all of us very well. I was told their cocktails were tasty (especially the old fashioned). And that their steak was 11/10. The food I had was super flavorful!

Walked in to Grace for brunch and they asked us if we wanted to set outside on the rooftop. Wasn't aware of a rooftop, but a perfect day so why not. We were told we could sit anywhere so we walked up the stars. Walk out onto the rooftop where they put outdoor couches under umbrellas and some round tables sitting on top of old whisky barrels. Most of the round table seats were taken so we sat at the bar. Ordered a bloody mary and ordered the Steak Fries. Amazing tenderloin with Chimichurri, a poached egg on top and potatoes. Great atmosphere, the food was fantastic. Definitely coming back.

It was great!!! The patio is super nice, if the weather cooperates! It was pretty quiet at 11am so it's an easy brunch to get in to without a reservation!

The food, the atmosphere, the service, I can't speak highly enough about this place! Can't wait to come back again! Chef even came out to make sure all was perfect! The serving sizes were so big that we had to bring some home with us. Definitely recommend trying this one out!

Well, I brunched at Grace's and I loved it! Tried the Grillades and Grits, and coffee w/ a shot of Bailey's -- perfection! The flavors were on point, the service (with Lance) was fast and friendly. The decor and aesthetic were great. Their menu is impressive and they deliver on presentation and taste. The bite of the croque monsieur I tried was delicious as well. Love the rooftop dining option as well. Definitely worth the visit, and I'd like to see (and try) their dinner menu. Cheers!

Too many places on the gulf coast are trashy dive bars. Nice to see a place that's holding the line. I will start with Rosie to doorman. What a fun guy and a huge personality. Just love chatting with him. He looks you over to make sure you don't look like a slob. You give him the password, and he opens the hidden door. Inside is nicely decorated with old bank vault doors still in place. Pretty cool. But the TVs on every wall and behind the bar upset the ambiance. Goes quickly from "speakeasy" to "sports bar." Hated that. Service was good and everyone was very friendly. Drinks were fine. Maybe a little on the sweet side. Should have asked more questions and ensured mine was made more dry. Food though.... Not good. I don't have a high standard for Latino food - I generally like it all. But the croquettes were lukewarm and mealy (probably made from frozen?). The plantain chips that came with the black bean dip were strangely small - as in dime-sized which made eating the dip messy. They might have come from a bad but just the crumbs at the bottom of the bag. The ceviche was just OK. So... great concept. Not executed particularly well. Probably better cocktails in downtown Mobile. Food needs a lot of work. Hated the TVs on the walls - ruined the speakeasy feel and took me straight to "sports bar." 2 stars bc there's potential here. Will watch reviews to see if it's improving and worth revisiting.
