Service was great. Shared an awesome 16 oz ribeye after a fantastic mixed greens salad. Cold beer on tap!

The food is the same menu as Southwood Kitchen, which is great. But the atmosphere is all bar and noise. Detracts from the awesome food.

I looked at my watch as we sat down, not for any particular reason, but it was 6:01. As we sat there, no eye contact was made by any server and we sat there for six minutes without anybody greeting us. Finally, a young gentleman came from the restroom area and he greeted us and he was a very nice and very conscientious server. I had steak and shrimp. We had firecracker wraps in the beginning and the food was delicious. Darian was our server and he did a fabulous job. Now the reason I gave three stars, I have been in the food industry for over 35 years and I have always believed that customer service is the most important aspect of any servers job. Sitting there for six minutes without one person saying a word was uncalled for. When a host seats you, she is to make sure that that server knows he has a table, that is how I trained my hostesses. When other servers pass a table that they can clearly see no one has approached, they too are responsible for making sure that these customers have been spoken to. We are all supposed to be team players. There was absolutely no team playing in that whole scenario. I don't blame Darian. I blame everybody else.

My server, Braxton, greeted me with a warm smile and stayed attentive throughout the entire meal--he made me feel like a VIP. I ordered the petite filet, cooked medium-rare to absolute perfection. It arrived quickly, and each bite was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sweet potato casserole surprised me--in general, I avoid sugary sides, but this was so worth it. Briquettes offers a fantastic range of sides, and I went with the grilled broccoli. The char from the grill gave it an extra pop of flavor, a perfect complement to the steak. They even brought out complementary rolls that were delightfully soft and warm. I judge restaurants by their iced tea, and theirs was spot on--refreshing, ideal for a hot Alabama summer. The veggies were cooked just right, and the added bonus of horseradish on the side took my meal to the next level. I actually finished every last bite--a rare occurrence for me! This isn't a bougie, reservation-only steakhouse like you find in big cities. It's a laid-back, hometown gem where you can pull up, park, walk in, and enjoy an outstanding meal without breaking the bank. I'm so glad it's close to home--Braxton and the team at Briquettes have earned a loyal customer. I'll definitely be back!

My go to is their ribeye, and it is usually seasoned and cooked just right. But I took my wife and daughter to the Spanish Fort location for lunch and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The ribeye, although cooked to temp tasted like the chef poured liquid smoke on it. It even smelled like smoke. I took one bite and that was it. The waiter came over several times and never asked why I wasn't eating it. When I asked for the check, he asked if I wanted a box to go and I told him no way. My wife insisted that we take it home to the dog, but she wouldn't eat it either. So disappointed in this location. What happened?!? NOT RECOMMENDED

The atmosphere at Buster's Brick Oven seems more upscale than the more dive bar ambiance of Manci's. They offer more than just pizza here but pizza seems to be the featured item. I sampled a Margherita pizza at Buster's Brick Oven and honestly it wasn't my favorite version of that particular pizza but it was alright. I also tried their Bison Burger which I ordered medium and it arrived with charred, burned and very crunchy meat on the outside but better on the inside with a side of charred and burned green beans... I will be sticking with the food on the Manci's Antique Club side! Ultimately the food on the Manci's side is far superior to me. The same folks that own Callaghan's Irish Social Club in Mobile have taken over Manci's and added the pizza addition of Buster's Brick Oven. Overall this is a great neighborhood spot which gives you the choice of the more "upscale" pizza side or the more classic dive bar side with different menus available in each. So far my experience with Buster's Brick Oven has convinced me to stick with the food at Manci's!

The ambiance is nice and cozy. But we always sat in a booth. Sitting at a table indoors next to the back door, I looked around in confusion. At first it felt like someone kicking the back of the seat like on a flight. But then I was trying to move the table and check the chairs, maybe it was an earthquake from the New Madrid fault line. But like a typical NOLA raised home, it was just a hard floor and heavy footsteps. I'll know better next time. But Sundays from 12-3pm is the time to be there. Having to wait for parking was about the hardest part.

We started with Boudreaux's eggrolls appetizer, they were pretty good, and cooked very well, the dipping sauce made the egg rolls. Next she got the crab and spinach bisque, I had a side salad with blue cheese dressing. Both were very tasty. Next she had grilled salmon with veggies and mash potatos, I had the blackend redfish topped Crawfish Etouffee w/ Rice & sautéed Vegetables redfish. Both meals were tasty, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. When we arrived at 615 it was pretty empty and quiet but by the time we left most tables were full and a vibrant scene. Chelsea and the stunning view made the evening. We will of course return.

We told stories and laughed through lunch. We had the absolute very best waiter named Alex. He was truly amazing. He superbly took care of each one of us. Alex had handwritten a long note to her, giving her the best and most thoughtful words about marriage.
