My partner and I went straight to the top floor and were seated in a spot that allowed us to see the entire city view. It was very clear that this was a fine dining spot, because I was given a blazer by the restaurant staff since I failed to dress up for this occasion. I have never tried alligator meat before and managed to taste it for the first time here. It tasted like popcorn chicken and having Thai chili sauce was a good move because it offered the dish good flavor. I didn't use any of the ranch dressing. The gulf shrimp chowder was extremely tasty because it contained a good amount of black pepper and a lot of shrimp and cream corn, making the soup taste creamy in a flavorful way. My partner had great things to say about the duck, which was a specialty dish. The maple glaze was obvious and provided the duck breast meat with good flavor. However, the green beans were very plain with barely any seasoning. I ordered the farmer's plate, which was a vegetarian dish, and I thought that it was overall only okay because the snow peas were very undercooked, and they occupied majority of the dish. The green tomatoes, tomatillos, and zucchini all tasted very good. In terms of desserts, the chocolate cake was very hot and moist inside, which made it clear that it was fresh. The outer crust was very crispy but the inside tasted too plain. The key lime pie was very well-made, with a soft layer of graham crackers along with tasty mango syrup and hibiscus reduction defining the extra taste. Overall they both tasted great. I must mention that our server Ashleigh was very attentive and helpful. My partner and I appreciated her help a lot during our experience. Also, it was good to listen to some quiet live performances during the dinner because it added an extra level of vibe.

We began with the Oyster Louise, oysters on the half shell with champagne mignonette, and beef carpaccio. The oysters were absolutely phenomenal--fresh, bright, and beautifully prepared. The beef carpaccio was the only dish that fell a bit short, lacking the depth of flavor we expected, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. For dinner, the brown butter halibut and the venison ossobuco were both excellent, delivering bold flavor and flawless execution. The server John was attentive and professional, the ambiance was beautiful, and there were truly zero complaints. A perfect Valentine's Day dinner and a place we would happily return to.

The service was good the waitress knew the menu and gave recommendations. The food was okay. The truffle gnocchi could have used more salt. The sauce was good, but nothing special. The beef Wellington tasted okay. It was the first time I'd tried it, so nothing to compare it to. The rolls and butter were okay, nothing special. The halibut was flakey and buttery, but the pan sear made crust hard to chew. The potatoes were great. The Brussel sprouts had great flavor. The mushrooms and pearl onions were just not good. I'd maybe give it another try, but it wasn't anything spectacular.

We started with appetizers of Jesse's BBQ Shrimp and Fried Green Tomatoes. I had the House Cut Ribeye, Medium Rare topped with Bone Marrow Butter, along with Gouda Grits and Sautéed Green Beans. My wife had the Pan Seared Red Fish. Both were excellent. Several at our table had the Shrimp & Grits topped with a Crab Cake. They said it was wonderful and it definitely looked great. For drinks I started with the Old Fashioned and finished with the Smokey Chocolate Old Fashioned. Both were very good. Our waiter provided excellent service and explained the history of the building, which was a plus.

We were in town for Mardi Gras and had reservations with friends and family for dinner on a Friday night. For our first course, I chose the seared scallops and hubby got the fish cakes. The scallops were Excellent! Served with butternut squash grits and pesto. The dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. Hubby's fish cakes were ok but nothing special. The breading overpowered the halibut. Next we both had the spring salad. It was nice and fresh but it really isn't strawberry season and it showed. For our entrees, hubby choice the panko crusted fish and I picked the line caught fish. The panko crusted was mahi mahi, a nice big fillet with the crunchy panko. A bit greasy but overall good. The Noja potatoes were a hit. The Brussels Sprouts were crispy but greasy. Unfortunately the line caught fish was a disappointment. It was golden tilefish. The filet looked beautiful but had absolutely no taste. It was served with a lemon caper sauce but the lemon completely overshadowed the fish. The restaurant was nice enough to offer a different entree but as a pescatarian, the options were limited. If I was a meat eater, I would give them another shot. It's a shame that while living on the coast, it is difficult to find a restaurant that consistently knows how to prepare an upscale fish dinner.
