It was served on a hot cast iron, halved and dipped in cheese with onions and bacon bits. Fries were decent as well. It was a quiet Sunday, but service was friendly and fairly quick. Horrible experience today. An older woman who was a server/manager was incredibly disrespectful to a group of paying customers. Instead of kindly telling us about table space being reserved, she was unnecessarily rude. We are from the area and don't plan on coming back after that. We've visited once a month since fall pre-symphony usually during brunch rush. With seating upstairs and downstairs in the beautifully paneled dining rooms, the pub feel is inviting and relaxing for friends and families to gather. Our favorites are drinks and apps, and must do's include: The Mango Mai Tai, Peach Bellini, Cosmopolitan, and various Margaritas. Full bar and specialty brunch cocktails are available on their website. The menu is American and extensive! We always start with our favorite fried mushrooms and horseradish dip, and their nachos are yummy too. Brunch favorites include shrimp and grits (creamy and satisfying,) crab cake benedict (yum,) and their french toast (we cleaned the plates!) They are also known for their Monte Cristo (we upgraded to their perfect onion rings side) and both were delicious. The sandwich included a honey mustard sauce on the side. The wait for my food was just too long for what I ordered. I got in, and no one was there to greet me on what to do.. do I just sit at a table? Do I need to alert someone I am here. It was a bit miss organized. I told the guy what I wanted, and I didn't get what I read on the menu. The green salad with croutons and cucumbers. I got bacon and no croutons... I paid almost double what I thought lunch of a small salad and soup was going to be. $10. That is what I thought I would be paying, but after tipping 20%, my bill was $20. Let me just say, I would come here any day just for the fried crab claws, HOLY SMOKES! They come at very affordable prices for what they give you, and the service was fine. The waitress tended to my party of 7 for my sisters birthday, and treated us like a family! This is a more fine dining experience, so I would absolutely get dressed for the occasion. The drinks are at reasonable prices for the scale of the restaurant, and they were all made very well. It was supposed to be Gulf Shrimp sautéed in butter and white wine over pasta. Absolutely horrible. The shrimp was tiny and not deveined. The flavor was literally salt. Location was great before a Mardi Gras Parade. Food was typical bar food with my wife getting a burger, which was fine and I had the shrimp poboy which was also pretty good for where I get it. Balcony seating was great being able to watch all the people. Only real complaint was service. We saw the waiter twice and that's when it brought our drinks to us.
