He went out to my parents' house in the evening, so I didn't hear anything else about this until the next day. My parents talked about Kael for days afterward. That might not sound like a big deal, but my parents are not exactly known for handing out compliments. They said he was kind, patient, easy to talk to, and that he explained everything he was doing in a way they could actually follow. He never made them feel embarrassed or foolish about how they ended up in the situation, which meant a lot. Kael also didn't just fix the one laptop he came for. When he assessed the situation, he took it upon himself to check the two other computers in the house, found malware and hidden files on those as well, cleaned everything up, and set my parents up with software to help protect them going forward. My dad offered to pay him more for checking the other computers, and he refused to accept it. Perhaps I'm getting cynical in my old age, but I'm not impressed by much these days.
