Laptop that was running fine before bed; was dead in the morning. Got scheduled to come in ASAP…read more(mid-afternoon). After a forced overnight Microsoft update that may have gotten stuck, my battery was completely run down. Not sure why, since power adapter worked. For some reason, my laptop powered up 'at the shop' rather than my home, but once restart was accomplished there, and battery was sufficiently recharged to take home, everything was all better. (My power adapter checked out fine.) I supposed I could have figured it out eventually (jiggled plugs, etc), but the 'it works now at the shop' seems to be what was needed. The in-shop review of computer health was useful. Rate charged was reasonable, as was free advice on what to buy next and where.

I've gone in now twice with issues…read moreI've been having and each time they took the time to help me right there and then and didn't charge me. Granted it was a quick check and I asked them specifically to look at one component but it still says a lot about the type of operation they run at Microtime Computers. Most recently I screwed up the installation of a graphics card and I thought I fried my PSU in the process so I brought my system in and they tested it for me. Sure enough, I killed the PSU. I asked what my options were/if they thought I killed other components and the guy told me it was possible that I did but it would be $90 to take a close look. He recommended I buy a new PSU, plug everything up and hope for the best considering I would need a new PSU regardless. If I was having troubles he told me to bring it in first thing Monday and they'd evaluate the whole situation for me. I got lucky and everything survived, system started right up with a new PSU. They could've charged me the $90 and then told me all I needed was the PSU but they didn't do that. I'll be back whenever I have an issue I can't deal with by myself.

I really really really wanted to like this place.....BUT it seems they really don't know how to fix…read morelaptops. They have one blanket prescription for all laptops. That is to take them apart and clean out the built up dust which , according to them , builds up heat and is the source for all problems.. This costs around $100. If that doesn't work you're basically out your one hundred bucks because they don't know how to do anything beyond that. Too bad because I've been looking for a small independent to for computer service but I guess I have to keep looing.
