I agree with a previous poster who wrote, "Owner is an arrogant person that does not back his product." and "there was an issue with the software that he blamed me". This is exactly what happened to me at his store. When I tried communicating this to him, he over-talked me, raised his voice and was extremely arrogant. I brought my Asus into his shop about 5 weeks ago because it stopped powering up when I plugged it in. It was a powerful machine with an Nvidia graphics card and only 2 years old. I thought it might be a faulty port. After spending initial time with the laptop, he assessed it was faulty ports and needed more time to see if it could be salvaged. In the interim, I purchased a laptop from him (I did not buy my Asus from him) so I could continue to do work. As soon as I got it home (this one was an HP), I noticed that the disk was at 75% as soon as I turned on the PC and then at 100% if I opened anything. I was doing a presentation at work and suddenly the presentation stopped and a windows update started and stopped my presentation in its tracks. Yikes!! It was still under warranty from HP and I went to them first -- they told me it had viruses and malware. Ok, these things happen and I let Bob know. I wasn't happy that he didn't make sure the laptop was ready to go, but I just wanted it replaced ultimately (and hopefully get my Asus laptop resolved). He took it personally. He talked over me and continually said, "no, listen to me" when I told him my frustrations. He also lied and said, "The new version of Windows does updates now without giving the user the opportunity to defer.". That's just not true. *sighs* He *did* have another laptop ready to go and I went to go look at it. I inspected it first and I noticed it had only an 1/8 of the space I had purchased on my "replacement" laptop. I also noticed the touch-screen and cd was gone. These 3 things were not even mentioned to me - Bob did ZERO communication with me to ascertain what was important, what were deal breakers, etc. I also let Bob know I wanted my original Asus back - I still didn't get it back and they were no longer working on it. Immediately he said, "I never said I was going to keep it. I'm not sure what you're going to do with it, the motherboard is toast.". Ok- doesn't matter, it's my laptop. He said he would get me another laptop with the correct space, touch screen and one that wouldn't freeze (it would cost me more). I picked up my replacement laptop and old laptop last week. I opened up the replacement and while it wasn't like my Asus, I was too frustrated (and intimidated) by Bob to say another word. However, I opened up my Asus -- and it was cracked in 3 places!!! The monitor is completely ruined. I called immediately (same day) and his wife (non-help) simply said, "I'll pass along the message.". NO ONE has called back and NO ONE has reached out. Owners do NOT care and lack a work ethic. read more

My names Brett and I own a local business in Haverhill. I went into Megahertz looking to build my own computer, because I wanted a gaming computer to run the virtual reality system, HTC vive. Knowing nothing whatsoever about computers, the owner showed me a computer I could buy for less than the parts to build a new one. I had something in mind... he ordered it. My confusion. It was totally the wrong configuration I needed to run the vive. He ordered me a totally different computer which I'm extremely happy with. It was the same price as the box stores or on the internet. And I'd much rather give him the money, than I big chain store. Brought in a laptop that kept restarting itself then had a blue screen error. Told me it was full of viruses and needed to be cleaned up. I thought it was odd since I have Antivirus software running all the time. I asked if that would take care of the problem and was told it would. Told them to go ahead and fix it for $120, also asked me if I wanted my documents backed up before they did the work for an additional $79. I said if they could back up my outlook emails, then yes do it. I get the laptop back after a week. Turn it on and its in safe mode, it's still restarting itself and only a couple documents are "backed" up and Outlook is no where to be found. I bring it back and tell them and the guy working there says oh yea the video card is bad. (so much for the viruses I had) I leave it, after another week the woman calls and tells me that they can't reproduce the problem it must be my power cord that is causing all these issues. I purchased a new power supply and still doing the same thing. Now I'm out $250 and this laptop is still not working. Stay away from this place. read more

I brought my computer here when it would not boot up. Unfortunately the mother board was dead and the hard drive was not doing well. The computer was over 7 years old, so no surprise there. I decided to buy a new one and I bought this through Megahertz. He transferred everything over and installed Micro Soft office. He transferred all my Quicken data, but the installer was not on the computer so he could not load the program. I did load this when I got home and once loaded all the files that were brought over loaded in. He saved all my data from 2002 on and I am so thankful. I was fearful that it would be lost. He was a pleasure to do business with and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who has computer issues. read more
