Prompt Service & Topnotch Computer Skills! It's rare to find trustworthy, fairly priced and quality computer repairs in the Boston metro area. Surprise! WangPC Computer Service's techie Erickson delivers on the promise to make repairs in a timely manner. The costs are fair and mirror those I've grown accustomed to previously. The death of a youthful independent computer businessman I relied upon last year, left a void; not to mention concern about what to do in the event a "computer breakdown" occurred. It is truly a pleasant surprise to encounter the services and nearby location of another trustworthy, knowledgeable and fairly priced computer repair service! The trouble with my laptop has been remedied, and I was not charged excessively for repairing the issue; Erickson "assessed" the problem, communicated to me a "turn-around" time for making the repair as well as, an estimate of the cost. The work was performed within 24 hours! Thanks, WangPC ! I unreservedly recommend you give WangPC of Brookline a visit! Thank you read more

Had to have my desktop PC fixed, because all I got when starting it up was a blue screen. Thought it might be from a bad graphics card, but he was able to diagnose the problem quickly and recommended either replacing the motherboard or the component on the motherboard that had burned out, giving me the options and the pricing for both. He steered me to the cheaper option, and he fixed it within a few hours. I picked it up, and my computer is now working fine! Vary happy with his advice, repairs, and professionalism. read more

I am so glad I took my computer to Wangpc! They did a great job of bringing it back to life!

Both the fans in my computer broke two days before classes started. Best Buy Geek Squad told me to get a new computer because repairs would cost the same and take two weeks. Wang PC fixed my computer in two days for way cheaper than any other repair center would have given me. Martin is also incredibly nice, and there is a "every customer is important" vibe that other repair centers don't give. Martin also went above and beyond replacing the fans and also cleaned the inside of my keyboard (in two days) for no added charge. Needless to say they have earned a lifelong customer. read more

Had an issue with my computer overrheating and likely fried the motherboard. I am pretty saavy with computers but was at my wits' end with my arsenal of troubleshooting tricks. I had never used a computer repair service and was very reluctant to give my laptop away for repair. I was almost certain that this would not get solved and was worried about my data being lost. I was definitely proven wrong! I read the great reviews about WangPC and dropped my laptop off. Martin gave me an update with the problem and gave me a reasonable quote for the repair. I received my laptop back in a timely manner and everything was working great! Martin went above and beyond to repair other longstanding issues in the laptop that I didn't even ask for (and he did not charge me for this). These weren't easily perceptible issues, but Martin was able to spot them /fix them immediately. Martin is truly and expert/professional. I am very impressed with this service and would recommend to anyone. Really saved me a lot of time and headache. 5/5 stars. read more

My computer just came back from this service for second time for same issue, but problem did not get solved unfortunately. The man charged me $180 for replacing fan and install software, explained me what is going on, suggested me not to use my MacBook Pro for video job anymore ! I was so tired from random shut down, when repair was done on first time I just took few days off from computer. Then I had to use it for my job and, man, problem is still going on.... as the man told me twice "let me know if something wrong." when I picked up on first time, I felt funny but I was assuming he fixed my lap top. I wrote nice review of his sayings here. but I brought it to this place for second time. He said it's nothing wrong, he checked it again and cleaned inside....I said there is problem on using Logic Pro X and other jobs on Chrome... he said he will check again once more. My computer came back. my baby was in sleep mode and when I opened it, a lot of Youtube videos was still on with many tubs and problem itself was still going on like crazy monkey. I guess it's very difficult problem as Computer Loft didn't even do anything, man at Loft diagnosed no problem, told me just it's time for new computer. Computer Loft didn't charge me anything though. I wonder if my fan was really in need of replacement, I believe not at Wangpc Computer Service. also no need of software I know something about Mac... Eventually I searched all possible internet area all day and night, finally I found things work for my MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2010 random shut down problem. Live and learn. Thanks for reading. read more

Did excellent job repairing my computer. It was relatively difficult.

I fried the hard drive on my All in One Dell. All ok one minute...the black screen of death when I went to reboot. I know a bit about computers and tried all diagnostic / fixes in my book. Nada. I brought in the computer, was called with the verdict the next morning and the beast was up and running by late afternoon. Price was more than fair with a 90 guarantee. Happy Customer! read more

Today was the first time I have used Yelp. It's important to note, firstly, that I am a disabled senior in my seventies and struggle immensely with neurological issues that make it extremely difficult to maneuver the internet, amongst other technologies. Now, having informed the public of this problem of mine, it should be prevalent that should I seek a service that would help me, such as getting my old computer cleaned so I can use it instead of having to use a cellphone, then, sure, contact a computer place. Cell phones are very difficult, yes indeed. So, here's the dilemma; I used Yelp for the very first time recently and tried to find a computer repair place and to simply receive a quote for this keypad cleaning I needed. I was contacted by place called, Wang PC Computer Service who quickly reached out to me and quoted me a fixed price, and then there was an odd written sentence just above his response, some vague statement, at least I thought it was odd. Something like this: you have sent your computer to such and such a place. So, of course I thought it was a mistake made by him or his company - because it simply was right above his own writing of an estimate - and tried to tell him about it. Of course he wrote back that he did not write that statement, but said it as if it wasn'teven there. But it was there and I even tried to send it to him, but failed: my age, inexperience and dementia I suppose. So far not bad. But here's something: I mentioned right from the beginning that I was new to all of this stuff... emailing, signing up on Yelp, so on. I wanted also to let him feel comfortable with my inexperience and told him I was using humorous language, like when I wanted to know his location, because I didn't see it anywhere in his email. So I asked: where are you located? Because if you're in Alaska and I'm here in Randolph MA. Then it not going to work out for me. This is when I tried to place a laughing face after my sentence, hoping he recognized my humor but his response was uncalled for. He that is ridiculous. Look for somebody else. There was more than that but my point was simply that I just wanted an address and a town or city. I am in Randolph MA, and told him this earlier. All he had to do is give me an address. Instead, he told me I wasn't very experienced with Yelp. Dah... I think that was pretty much clarified by me right from the beginning. Hee, hee, hee! There should be a smiley face here. read more

Quick, responsive and amazing service! I came in on a Friday afternoon when the office already closed, I called the owner and he still want to help me fix my laptop so I dropped my laptop at his home office and knowing that he's working overtime to get my laptop ready for me to pick up on next day. I expect it takes longer time to get my laptop fix but it turned in on next day. Just to be honest, Apple is always busy and barely get me the appointment next week Thursday which means several days of waiting for their appointment. He offered an affordable price quote! Thanks WangPC for your hard work. read more

Martin Wang who owns this business went WAY beyond what he needed to do in order to help me. I sent a used iPhone from eBay to him to setup. The phone seemed to disappear in the mail. Martin made repeated phone calls to his local post office and finally found it. The setup was done flawlessly for a very fair price. Martin communicated quickly throughout. Amazing service! During the Covid-19, dont forget to call before you go to his store. Many street parking around his store, so you can find a place to park easily (the T station is closed to here too). Martin is super nice, he replies messages very fast and friendly. I got some computer problems and I visited his store. He gave me advice when I was there, and he started to fix it in a short time. While he fixed it, he figured out more problems and he called me to explain and provided detailed information. He told me I can go back anytime when I have more problems with my computer, very appreciated! read more

I woke up this morning to a computer that wouldn't power on. No booting or anything. I called up Wang PC and he scheduled me a time to come drop off my PC so he could take a look and diagnose a problem. Before I could even pick up my coffee order he called me with a diagnosis (dead power supply) and didn't even charge me for the diagnostics! On a Sunday! Replacing a PSU is something I can do on my own and he didn't pressure me to leave my PC with him. Great and fast service. I'll definitely be returning if I have a more complicated issue in the future. read more

This service was excellent. Martin was prompt to answer phone calls and return text messages. He was clear about the services he could provide, and talked me through the issues that could arise from my computer accident. He both picked up and dropped off my computer because I was unable to visit the location of his store during the workday. His price was very reasonable. Overall, WangPC provides a wonderful service. If I ever have another computer issue, I know who to go to. I've typed out the specific details surrounding my experience below. I spilled a small amount of coffee on my laptop, immediately unplugged it, and tried to dry it out for a bit. When I turned the computer back on, (much earlier than I should have, you should wait at least 24 hours), one by one, the keyboard letters stopped working, and generally weird things were happening on my screen - the start-up screen would shake until I pressed a key. I called Martin at around 7:30 pm the Sunday evening that it happened, and he talked me through a plan. Because I was working on Monday and unable to go to the store, he agreed to come pick up my laptop from me at work. We spoke briefly about the issues, and he told me what he planned to do - clean the coffee residue off the motherboard, let the computer dry completely, and check the keyboard. Tuesday night around 7:30 pm, he told me that I will actually need a new keyboard, which he could order and install himself - the only delay would be caused by the shipping of the new keyboard. Friday afternoon, he texts me that the computer is ready and that he can bring it to my office within the hour. I'm currently typing this review from my working laptop. read more

I will never go anywhere else. I dropped my laptop on Tuesday morning and it cracked open. Erickson said he would take a look and call me to let me know what is going on....which he did promptly. He told me what he needed to do and that I could pick it up the next day (every other repair place I have been to, has taken 2 weeks). Not only did he fix it, he removed 10 viruses and his manner was beyond friendly and polite. This place is a true find. Thank you Erickson...you're the man! read more

I have done terrible damage to my computer a number of times and Martin has always been there to save the day. I am a Northeastern student and once told Martin that I had an exam the following day; he DROVE TO ME with my finished repair so that I could focus on studying. I had a problem with my Dell laptop not running and had been avoiding going online to DELL or big retail stores to get it repaired as they charge you a lot of money just to look at it. Thankfully, at Wang PC, the person diagnosed the issue in 5 secs and guess what, he didn't charge me a penny!! On top of that, he gave me great advice on what to buy to fix my issue (it was a hard disk issue, I needed a new one). Now my laptop is better than it was before and up and running thanks to WangPC. Writing this review from my rejuvenated laptop seems right :) read more

I cannot say enough fantastic things about this place. They're super helpful, and totally honest. I first emailed about a laptop problem and they responded within minutes and chatted with me a bit before suggesting I bring it in. When I did, Ryan gets A+ for effort despite concluding that it is the laptop equivalent of a totaled car. He refused to charge me for the 2 days of detective work since it needs a new motherboard and also graciously talked through options I was considering for a new computer. This place is super nice, efficient, and honest to a fault. Don't take your computer/electronics anywhere else! read more

Mr. Wang was quick and responsive when it came to fixing my Asus laptop which needed a new battery replaced. He even came and picked up my laptop and dropped it back off at my apartment after one week (we needed to wait a few days for the battery to come in by mail). Would highly recommend his services to anyone in the Boston area! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Martin and his dependable and excellent PC service. I first met my Martin when I dropped my external 1T drive on a hard floor, dropped it hard, and it fried. My bad. I thought there was the possibility that the data could be recovered, and Martin tried to do that, and spent some time with the drive but could not recover anything. He did not charge me a thing for his time, and I told him I would be back. And I was -- back -- when an odd desktop display issue developed on my Dell laptop, and I took it to Martin for service. This time, he not only fixed the issue(s), but made other adjustments and enhancements to my system that made it run smoother and faster. And then just yesterday, Martin took the laptop after I made the incredibly stupid decision of allowing a bogus Adobe Flash upgrade request, which turned out to be nothing but a BIG FAT VIRUS. It did a real number on my system, and Martin took my laptop last night and I picked it up from this morning. It's in great shape, and he added extra virus protections which will keep me, and it, safe for a long time to come. Smart, honest, reliable, knowledgeable, up-to-date, flexible. Martin Wang is all of these things, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks, Martin. read more

I needed a hard drive replaced on a slightly older macbook, but the apple store and "apple certified" micro center in cambridge could only replace with the same crappy hard drive the computer came with even though wayyy better ones are now available - after running around all day Saturday I got the hard drive from micro center and then called and dropped off my laptop here Sunday and picked up a day or so later. They checked with me that everything was backed up beforehand and my computer now works soooo much better! They are a little disorganized, once the door was locked without a sign while an employee moved their car (just call) and theres a lot of devices piled on top of each other - but worth the friendly, honest, reasonably priced and good service in a convenient location! read more

Martin Wang is a wonderful person to work with...if it can be made to happen, he can make it so. Patient, committed, an expert on all things PC, he spent a week trying to resurrect my hard drive--tried everything possible. But if Michael says "No way" you don't have to ask for second opinions. Thank goodness for backups. Anyway, I recommend him highly. read more

A serious lifesaver. I was super desperate on a Sunday night with everything being closed after I broke my computer screen. I knew my computer screen was going to be hard and expensive to fix due to it being a retina. I called Martin up and he said he would drive over to pick it up. To put it in perspective, he is ALL the way in Brookline and I am ALL the way in Somerville. Martin communicated with me over the next course of the week, answering my annoying questions and being completely professional the entire time. In less than a week, he was able to fastly install the new screen and deliver it to me immediately. I may also add that the price is amazing! If I had gone to apple, it would have literally cost me $800.000. WangPC was half the price and a way better customer service. Have you ever tried to call apple? You never talk to a person directly. Martin is a true professional, extremely reliable, and prompt. I will go to him in the future for all my technology needs. read more

I had an absolutely AMAZING experience with WangPC and Martin! Great service! I HIGHLY recommend them. I broke my HP laptop screen while I was on vacation in California. I did some shopping around there as well as Boston and the average charge was around $250-$300 on top of that, I was told they would have to ship it to another site for repair. I saw how well WangPC was reviewed and gave it a shot. I was immediately responded to and My laptop was picked up from my home the same day I called. I was kept informed on when the new screen would be delivered and my screen would be replace. The price I was given was the price I was charged ($180). I made the initial call on Monday and had my fixed computer three days later. He even fixed the tiny bent corners on the keyboard at no extra charge and without me asking! read more

Martin was amazing! I called for an estimate based on a problem in my Dell computer. Based on the research that I have done so far, the suggestion was totally off base. I don't mind paying for a diagnosis, but not the nonsense that came from WangPC read more

I moved my son to Cambridge on Saturday to start a masters degree at MIT. On Monday his power supply blew out on his desktop. He was very upset because he felt vulnerable starting a new program without his desktop. We had to get it repaired ASAP. Went to a big box store and were told the repair would take two or three weeks. So I searched "computer repair" on Yelp and found that Martin Wang had five stars. He fixed the power supply within 24 hours and even replaced a dysfunctional fan and memory card, and added capability for previously dormant programs. All without being asked by us to do the extra work. Repairs were reasonably priced as well. Very professional and very fast. Thanks Martin. You really hit a home run! read more

Expensive. Not cooperating at all. They asked for $350.00 for my Samsung laptop while I got it fixed for $150.00. I don't recommend it.

My laptop stopped working and I needed to get it fixed asap for my work with clients. I tried three other places in Cambridge first but they either did not accept walk-ins or only worked on Apple products. I called WangPC in desperation and they told me to stop by. Erickson was very friendly and fixed the issue an hour before closing time. Unfortunately, another virus affected laptop the very next day and caused the same issue to re-occur. I went back to Martin and Erickson in desperation and they were puzzled as to what was going on with the software and why it got reinfected so quickly. They spent 5 hours uninstalling and reinstalling hard drive/software to remove all the viruses and get my laptop functioning like new. They did not charge for this second repair and said they would refund me if the issue was still not resolved. Luckily, my laptop is working perfectly now! Really nice, trustworthy guys who know what they're doing. I will save you the time of calling other places like I did - definitely go here first if you need a repair! read more

I came to Martin with a broken hinge and cover on my Asus laptop. He diagnosed my laptop for free quoted me a very reasonable price for the repair. I had my repaired laptop back in a very timely manner (within 7 days). He is very prompt in replying to text messages and phone calls, is very professional, and provides great customer service! Will go back to him if there are any future incidences and highly recommend his services! P.S. The store may be a bit hard to find, as there are no business signs! read more

Brought my HP laptop in for repairs back in August 2020. Was running slow. New hard drive probably, at least do some data rescue. Great! Week later, no call, I called them. It's ready, but I'm not in office will call you back. Got no call. Called them again, stopped in. Couldn't find my computer. Bottom line is they LOST it. No computer, no data. LOST. If you value your electronics, avoid Wangpc at all cost. Worst repair place imaginable. They offered to replace, but again weeks go by and no calls. read more

Martin was able to diagnose my laptop for free and fixed my laptop at a reasonable price. He is quick to respond to text messages and gave frequent updates on the status of my computer. He even offered to deliver my laptop back to me to save me the trip to Brookline and gave me a free three month warranty. My computer came back running better and faster than it had when I first bought it. I highly recommend going to Martin for computer repair services. read more

I visited Martin twice regarding an issue with my laptop and I got a true professional service from him. It's always a challenge to find a reliable, honest service person when it comes to automobile and computers and I believe I've found one for all my computer/laptop related issues. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately and gave me a clear explanation of the issue, the different options I've got and the timeline to work on those. The first time I went to Martin was because I tried to install uBuntu on my Lenovo Ideapad u310 with dual partition and it corrupted the Win 7 on it. I exhausted almost all the troubleshooting possibility in trying to boot Win 7 but I couldn't. I took it to Martin and got the issue resolved the next day. The second time I took it to him regarding an issue related to the fix he did previously and he got it resolved without charging me a penny. My laptop works great now. Both the time I called, I was able to get the appointment right away. Very professional service, extremely friendly, immediate understanding of the problem. Keep up the good work Martin. read more

My work laptop had issues and urgently needed repair during a weekday. WangPC was extremely knowledgeable and responsive. No other store around the Boston area even came close to how helpful WangPC was; they do a great job of keeping you informed of the issues and the necessary steps to fix them . I had a fully working laptop within a day and was even able to pick it up on the weekend. Truly a gold standard 24/7 service. read more

Brilliant experience. My very expensive Dell laptop was having trouble keeping a charge, and everything online said that it could be any number of things. My ASUS laptop screen was on the fritz and I panicked because I have to use it to study for the bar exam. I called Martin at around 2pm on a Friday afternoon (today) and he answered immediately. He was over at my Brighton apartment within 15 minutes. OF COURSE my screen was miraculously cured by the time Martin got to my third floor apartment, but he was incredibly kind and understanding after having come all the way over to my place for nothing. Though I did not get to see Martin in action, his kindness and efficiency will make him the first person I call the next time I inevitably break my laptop. Thank you, Martin! read more

On cue, my laptop overheated a couple days before my research paper was due. I opted to just use the slow-as-molasses school setups because in the past, I would give my computer to a repairman and wouldn't see it for weeks. I wish I took the time to look up WangPC. Martin is professional, wicked fast, and does a terrific job. He is one of the few businessmen I've met who have integrity. Even if the job ends up costing more due to over-nighting parts, he remained faithful to what he quoted me initially. Now, lets be clear, this man deserves top dollar for just how damn good he is. But this gesture moved me a great deal, and I highly, highly recommend him to anyone experiencing computer troubles. Don't wait and get around to it because you've had lousy repair experiences in the past. WangPC gets it DONE. read more
