WORTH EVERY PENNEY AND THEN SOME!! Paul literally worked over time on the holiday weekend no less on my Uncle's computer and he did not even charge the amount of hours I know he actually put in. My Uncle is 92, and the amount of patience and kindness he had towards my Uncle was amazing! Where do I even start? First of all, all the recommendations you read that are negative about Paul, those people don't know how to appreciate. Paul is one of the most empathetic, caring and thoughtful people I have met. I explained to him the importance of getting my brothers music before his anniversary (passing away three years ago) and he dropped everything else to come through. Paul will get anything you need from him done regarding data recovery. I was very happy with Paul's dedication and expertise. He was able to retrieve my outlook files after Microsoft messed up the upgrade to 2021 office from 2007. They uninstalled 2007 without saving the data file. Paul was able to find the .pst file and then migrate the data to the .ost file, the format used in 2021 outlook. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have my outlook files back. They were also some issues with the Word documents that he found work arounds for. I highly recommend Paul!! I recently encountered an error with my laptop where my battery was bloated, and I was encountering the blue screen of death whenever I turned on my computer. I contacted Paul about the issue, and he responded within an hour saying that he was happy to help out. Within 2 hours, he had arrived to my location and described the problem and the next steps for my laptop. I hired Paul since he said he could fix my issue in 2 days and it took him 7 days. He constantly made excuses for the delays and changed his story when I asked him for a status update. We agreed to a certain make/model for a hard drive and then when he returns the PC, tells him he installed a different hard drive. I asked him to not bother recovering files from my broken hard drive and he does so anyway and charges me for the time. By the end of this ordeal, I honestly felt like I was paying him to return my PC and f* off. I get the impression that Paul is knowledgeable but can't deliver on timelines and is taking on more work than he can handle. The biggest takeaway I've had from this experience is that it's probably more cost effective to start replacing PC parts than to hire a professional. read more

My laptop of 5 years experienced a crack in the screen. As it turns out, while waiting for a replacement screen, Paul ran some tests and realized that despite my having Norton "protection" via Xfinity/Comcast, I had quite a few viruses and, as it turns out, a damaged hard drive. After a couple of weeks, I got my laptop back with some add-on's, a serious malware anti-virus software added, and my machine is running like new ... better than new. I recently lost my job and my computer is now my office and lifeline to employment. A rogue virus attacked it this past Saturday and totally shut it down. I usually bring my computer to a large well known chain store but they are quite expensive and take forever to repair. I found PC Nerds and Paul, the owner by accident in the yellow pages and boy am I glad I did. He picked up my computer and spent hours fixing it, rebooting it and adding more security to it , all for a very very reasonable price. He dropped it back off yesterday and it works great. I found Paul the owner of PC Nerds through multiple outstanding reviews like the ones here. I had spoken to him once some months ago & he answered all my questions and told me what he could do about my laptop's problem and the maximum of what it would cost which seemed quite reasonable, but at the time I guess I wasn't desperate enough yet and so didn't follow up with him. Meanwhile my laptop was running slower & slower and getting to the point of often not even responding frequently for a number of tries to most of what I needed. Now flash forward to last week when my computer died once & for all after I dropped it on the floor. The power was on and when I picked it up, the screen was black & the only thing I could get was one repetitive statement that was incoherent with my limited knowledge of technology. I called Paul & asked him to come ASAP which he to my surprise did. He came that day to look at it & take it to his office to fully assess the extent of the damage I'd done to the hard drive. He phoned me the next am & told me what my options were including what his recommendation was when I asked him for that. Unfortunately I lost almost all my data due to exactly how I dropped it causing the hard drive to have full amnesia; but Paul told me it was worth putting in a new hard drive & rebuilding the computer, so that my laptop would be essentially a new device. I was extremely anxious due to my situation, but when Paul returned my laptop, it really was a New Computer. It in no way other than its shape, color & light weight resembled the one I had given him a couple of days before. He had not only put in a new hard drive, but added items including a much more effective security system than I had had "before the fall." He had also added three different browsers I could now choose from & got all my most important OFFICE System up & running again for me. Everything was so much faster, smoother & cleaner. I was so thrilled that I referred a friend to Paul at PC Nerds when he had a problem a week after my disaster. My friend was just as happy as I had been after consulting Paul & is someone unlike myself who is very knowledgeable & tech savvy. I called now, about a laptop I have which has unfortunately became infected with some malicious malware. The guy on the phone (Paul, I believe) was very courteous and helpful. He ran some checks with me on the phone, and went with me over the various options I can take in order to deal with it myself. We spent about 15 minutes on the phone, and he never gave me the sense that I was wasting his time, nor did he put any pressure to bring the laptop over to the lab. When I asked about that option he proposed fair pricing as well. While I haven't paid for the service, I still thought I'd share this experience here. I called Paul once my dying PC could not stay running more than a couple minutes without crashing. The PC had been a good machine, but more important was the last year of data on the hard drive, with pictures and videos of our new baby. Paul worked all weekend trying to save that PC, installing a new OS and swapping every hardware component on the board in the effort. The PC proved unsaveable. I had changed out the power supply a couple years earlier and as Paul had tried absolutely everything I'm now convinced that's what caused its demise. Paul did manage to get it stable enough to copy all our precious memories off of the hard disk, which I have now carefully backed up. Since the PC itself couldn't be saved, per our agreement Paul only charged me for three hours of work for all his time and effort. His persistence on our behalf was exceptional, and through all the uncertainty of the experience, Paul acted with integrity every step of the way.
