Ordered the #BombayLatte but you must be a fan of cardamom because you can definitely taste it I also had the #JambonBuerre and it was delicious with the ham, herb butter, Gruyère, arugula and mustard. I am a returning customer but these two items were a first for me

Je taime Darshan Bakery. The coffee and food is magnifique! We had the turkey and avocado sandwich, almond chocolate croissant and latte....all of which was super yum. We will certainly frequent this wonderful place.

One year later and I'm back! I came at 3pm. The interior is really pretty and I do love how the light shines through the seating area. They also had a few books in the corner, I believe. It is clean, organized, but they do not have water cups for you. Maybe if you go at 3pm, you have to ask for it. They also have outdoor seating. Also, Yelp says there's an ocean view....No, you're not on the beach and you can't really see the water either because of the building in front. For a French bakery it didn't have many French baked goods-- for some reason lots of scones, cookies, cinnamon bun, etc. Yes, they had pain aux raisins, some pain au chocolat, plain croissants, and jambon croissant. They also had sandwiches-- some served on crispy French baguette and others served on wheat bread. The worker was kind. I ordered their tuna sandwich and she asked me "if there were any in the front?" I said "No, just turkey." And she replied that "it was okay and they would make it fresh for me." That was nice. But then the total for the sandwich was $15. I was shocked because it was more expensive than a turkey club at Board & Brew. What am I paying such a steep price for? I thought that maybe I'll get bang for my buck -- yeah right. The tuna sandwich was the most pathetic sandwich I laid eyes on and tasted. The description said there was tuna, rémoulade, cheese (can't remember exact one), arugula, balsamic on wheat bread. This sandwich was more arugula and balsamic than ANYTHING. I can still taste the bitterness. The size of the tuna was shocking as it was only maybe a teaspoon amount on the bread, check the photo. There was no rémoulade aka mayonnaise based sauce with cornichons, herbs, and sometimes capers. I'm so disappointed and honestly pissed as well that I paid $15 for this. Now that I've cooled off a little I came back to give some feedback. Their food and pastry items need to have the prices written on the menu. So that there's no shock or surprise. If you run out of something, just tell the customer so that they can choose something else if they wish. Yeah, I don't mind paying a little extra if the quality is there. There was no quality here and there was very little quantity as well. If this is how your tuna sandwich recipe is written, re write it because it's straight robbery! They were ok the first time I tried Darshan Bakery, so if you want to-- go and eat some pastries and have your morning coffee/lattes. They are just ok, nothing extraordinary like some French bakeries. But heed my warning and do not order the sandwiches. They are 1000% not worth it!!

The desserts here are about two star. The Service is about two stars. The ambience is clean and it is five stars. The coffee is not good The orange juice is fresh squeezed The sandwiches are extra salty

just had the best croissant of my life here No idea why this place only has 4 stars -- easily one of the best bakeries.

It has its own seating inside and outside and the outside seating has umbrellas just in case it gets a little too sunny. There is an abundance of parking on the street that's usually free up to two hours. I went on a Sunday where it wasn't really that busy so finding parking close by was pretty easy. I like this area because it's in between a lot of other small businesses and it's not right on the street. It's kind of tucked away a little bit. It has its own bathroom as well. We even saw a parrot whilst eating haha. I ordered the Italian grinder and my girlfriend ordered the turkey club. Both sandwiches were very tasty and make sure to get sauce with it because the sauce here is really good! Cons: due to the location, if it's busy parking will probably be slim. This is most likely due to it being close to the Del Mar fairgrounds. Verdict: If you want a quick bite to eat there or to go, this is the perfect place for you! Bored and brew is a staple in California and anybody who hasn't tried it should go now!

It's the kind of place where you linger over coffee without feeling rushed. You order at a counter and they bring you your food at your table. The food is fairly standard café breakfast and lunch fare, but it is all done very well. I come here pretty often for weekend brunch and you can't go wrong with their breakfast sandwiches and scrambles! They give pretty generous portions without being heavy. The coffee drinks are all solid and service was friendly in that laid-back way. It can get pretty busy during weekend so be prepared for a long line to order. That said, the service was great, the ambiance is really cool, and there is plenty of seating which made it a nice spot to hang out for a bit which is why I wanted to return. It's on a quiet side street and was really inviting. I came back again on a Saturday around 1pm, for lunch and it was a beautiful, busy afternoon. We managed to snag the last shaded table, which felt like a win. I ordered the Avocado BLT. It was really good overall. Simple, fresh ingredients, though I think it could have been even better with an extra flavorful spread. The pasta salad on the side was super fresh and honestly delicious. I also loved the tangerine juice. The prices are pretty high, but that's to be expected in a Del Mar. Big bonus points for the free iced tea by the water station. Such a nice touch. Overall a great neighborhood spot with a great vibe. Excited to come back and try more of the menu.

Yummmm Service was great too: our waitress was honest about the portion size and the two dishes were probably enough for the 3 of us females. We still wanted order one more and she recommended 1/2 size French toast. It's also located at a nice area where you can walk around. We parked the garage attached to the restaurant. They have outdoor seating, but it looked cramped and right next to the walkway and the road so not very inviting. The service was not very personable and only checked in on us once. We had to flag down someone to refill our coffee. We ordered the Benedict, French toast, and an omelet. The omelet was great, but the French toast tasted bland, and they charge for each fruit you add to it, so if you want bananas and blueberries you need to pay extra, which I found odd since the La Jolla location just brought a medley of fruit. The biggest disappointment was the syrup--it wasn't maple syrup but what looked like house-made pancake syrup, and the consistently was an unappetizing gooeyness instead of viscous. For the prices they charge I at least expect maple syrup, not high fructose corn syrup for my French toast. Overall I probably would skip this place and try something else next time I'm in Del Mar.

They also sell sandwiches and salads which I am excited to try next return. SPECIALITY OF THE DAY ($5) - cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, and garlic. As I've been told it's a staff favorite among the rotating flavors for speciality of the day. At first it tasted like a normal pepperoni pizza but then the garlic flavor really shines thru.
