We got seated quickly in their beautiful outdoor patio area with our 2 pups! The food was absolutely delicious! The wonton tostada, DEFINTELY my favorite!! I wish we got more orders! I was apprehensive about the tangerine in it at first, but it brought such a delicious sweet flavor to the tostada, literally devoured it so fast lol 20/10! The bone marrow quesadillas were good. The bone marrow was juicy, melt in your mouth flavor! I like to add a squeeze of lime on the marrow as well, tastes so good that way. The quesadilla itself was okay, tbh I could've done without it as it wasn't anything amazing. The bulgogi burger is on their monthly special menu! It's listed as sliders but when we came, our server informed us they only have it as a regular burger for the time being which wasn't an issue for us! It was delicious & filled with so much flavor! I loved the crunch from all the veggies inside as well. The fries it came with had some sort of sugar salt which wasn't my favorite, but still good. How to lose a good customer, here you go. I was in Del Mar meeting a friend and she had lunch today at Salt + Lime. She told me the waiter Omar told her that the girl with the spots in her skin (me) left without paying on May 14th when we were celebrating her birthday and that he was informing her just to let me know that probably they won't let me enter in the restaurant anymore. Well, this is absolutely ridiculous, so NOT true and so insulting. We were celebrating the birthday of that precise friend that told me this and another friend and I told the waiter Alejandro F that we will pay separately for our consumptions and whatever my friend ordered and then whoever was coming to the party later on will pay in whatever way they want. So we clarified we were going to pay separately and then I had to leave early and told Alejandro that my friend will pay for us as we informed to start with. Later that night I asked my friend what was my part and paid her my part. End of story. Now, not only they accuse me but when I talked to the manager over the phone (Omar put me in touch with him) this manager told me he was told and was not accusing me but the group. Well, manager, so your math, I showed the ticket that my friend sent me with the portion we paid and you should train your staff to make sure all the money due is paid at the end of the dinner and not false accusing someone a month later. I have never been so embarrassed in my life and apparently there were $80 missing which is anyways a ridiculous amount considering the many people with have been mentioning this place to and the good word we have put about the music and cozy ambiance. This is not the way to treat customers. No apologies, no maybe is OUR misunderstanding due to OUR bad management and our inabilility to do the math. Cute little corner area in Del Mar off the main road. The service was great. The tacos were delicious - especially the shrimp taco. I loved my strawberry drink with a Tajin treat. We heard this place started as a food truck and they hope to expand into another brick and mortar location. It must be those great tacos! There is limited free parking behind the building as well as two hour street parking. My friend parked at the nearby City Hall for free and walked up. The ambiance was great, and while service was a little slow, it seemed like there was only one server handling the floor, so it was understandable. We ended up on a Friday night in Del Mar. And decided on this place for dinner due to good Yelp reviews and liked the vibe based on the photos. I was able to get a reservation and we didn't have to wait that long. The hostess was nice and we were given a nice spot. Right away, we like the ambience which is nice and cozy. The food was good and we find the servings to be towards bigger portions. For starters we ordered the Caesar salad. It was huge and the waiter split it for us. That was good and refreshing. We also had the Bone Marrow Quesadilla. They were huge bone marrows sprinkled with rockets greens and quesadillas on the side. We also had an asada taco and quesa birria taco. Which were also good. For drinks I had the cilantro jalapeño which is nothing special. For dessert we had the Kuty's churros which was nothing special. Only thing I didn't like was the credit card processing fee which they pass on the customers. Normal tip rates are now much higher than before. So any additional charges just don't sit right with me. So we try to avoid places like this especially since there's a lot going of good food places out there that don't have extra charges. read more

Not sure where to start. Rough cooks on the steak, not sure if it's our fault for getting dishes with steak at a Mexican restaurant. I had the mole which its base was delicious, I asked for a medium steak and got it extremely well. My friends steak was the opposite and nearly raw and chewy. My family and I drove into town this week for vacation. I called them the day before asking if they were going to play the soccer game(mexico vs South Korea). After confirming all of that information I asked for a reservation next to a tv so we can watch it. Shocker.. my family and I rolled up right at the start of the game and the only table they had for us was a table with the view of the back is the tv and another tv so far that you couldn't make anything out. The hostess told me she thought we weren't going to show up and gave our table away. Super irritated I left and had to go to an even shittier food place. We drive to The Oceanside to LaJolla PCH drive and we love driving by Del Mar coast. We just recently drove and as a Yelper, Yelped this place as reviews are good. I had to investigate. Feeling Mexican foodie so I dove right in. Reserved and after about 10 minutes, we got our seat. This place isn't small, but it isn't big either so reserve during busy times. Bar area exists and seating on counter height chairs near the bar too! All pretty much covered cozy outdoor/indoor type seating. I liked the vibe. I tried the bone marrow quesadilla. The bone marrow, I think 3 pieces, was good. The quesadilla that is separate was good too. The bone marrow being sauced a little would have been better served with a plain toast or tortillas, but I get it and ain't complaining. We also had the tacos. Good as well. Finishing it with churros. Service was decent and prices was decent. The only thing I must say is that they charged us for a salad they split without even asking us if we wanted it split. That's a big shame! And on top of that, this place charges more for credit card usage passing the costs to the customers. So your bill that you thought was decent, is now a little fluffier that you would like it to be. I'm not too happy about that! I feel like places that tack on more after you've enjoyed dining, just blows it when doing this! And this place ain't no different. Is that even legal? So what could have been a pretty decent experience becomes a meh experience. Verdict - hard pass for me. I'd rather go to up front pricing rather than a hidden pricing one. I wanted to try a new place none of us have ever been to before so I went here with my family for my birthday. I had seen the pictures online and thought it looked like a nice inside outside kind of place. I made the right choice. The food was delicious! I totally can't remember the name but I got the nopales avocado toast tostada thing, so good. I could totally eat a whole plate of that for lunch, easy. I also got a quesabirria but asked to hold the cheese. I'm lactose intolerant which sucks but the taco and consommé were both very tasty. I'm bummed I didn't get the name of our server. As a Mexican, I felt personally attacked by this menu. I came in expecting Mexican food. What I got was a culinary crime scene. The tacos looked like they had lost the will to live, the salsa tasted like watered-down ketchup with trust issues, and the guacamole had the texture and color of something recovered from an archaeological dig. The menu reads like someone Googled "Mexican food" once in 2007 and then improvised the rest. There were ingredients on dishes that no Mexican grandmother would ever approve of. At one point I was genuinely concerned the chef had confused a taco with a salad and a quesadilla with a construction project. The rice was dry, the beans were flavorless, and the portions somehow managed to be both expensive and disappointing. Even the chips tasted stale, as if they had been waiting years for someone brave enough to order them. If authenticity was a destination, this restaurant missed the exit, drove off a cliff, and kept going. I left with a lighter wallet, a heavier sense of regret, and a newfound appreciation for every taco truck I've ever visited. The ambiance screams, "We spent the entire budget on Instagram and forgot about the food." Every available surface was covered in greenery, hanging plants, flowers, and carefully curated decor designed to convince you that you're having a premium dining experience. Walking in felt less like entering a restaurant and more like wandering into a botanical garden sponsored by social media influencers. The place practically begs you to take photos. Unfortunately, the food seems to have been treated as a decorative accessory. The interior says "luxury culinary destination," while the menu says "we ran out of ideas." It's the kind of restaurant where the plants are fresher than the ingredients and the flowers have more flavor than the tacos. One star. The only thing Mexican about this place was my disappointment. read more

Came for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday. We had a reservation, but it wasn't too crowded around 3pm. We were seated next to their indoor tree. The restaurant itself is open not enclosed, so on a hot day, it can get a little warm. We started off with their Potato Taquitos. An order comes with three with mashed potato inside. It's topped with a mound of shredded lettuce, crema, cotija cheese, pickled onion, and green salsa. These were pretty good! we also got their Salt & Lime Salad that has mixed greens, queso panela, toasted almonds, cherry tomatoes, mandarins, green apple, avocado, and a cumin vinaigrette. This salad was a pretty big portion size. I enjoyed the mix of toppings, and the dressing was tasty! A refreshing salad on a hot day. I saw photos of their ceviche, and it looked incredible! We got the Ceviche Yucatan with shrimp, fish, onions, tomato, cilantro, radish ,orange lime base, and creamy cilantro. When they bring it to your table, they'll pour on the orange lime based and drizzle on the chili oil. They'll also leave the bottle, so you can add more if you'd like. It also comes with two crispy tostadas, though with the portion size of the ceviche, I think they could have provided more. Though, overall, the ceviche was a hit! I've never had a White Mole before so seeing that on the menu caught my eye. This White Mole dish comes with a variety of mushrooms, green oil, chili powder, and micro cilantro. You can also add chicken, which we did, and it went great with the white mole! Definitely enjoyed this! read more

I love the outdoor/indoor seating vibe they have. Only qualm is that it was super bright in the spot I was in and I was getting blinded but I love the sun so it was fine. The server was attentive without being too much which was nice. I got aguachile negro and it was super fresh and sour and delicious! If you're looking for a fresh seafood dish and you love shrimp and sour flavors this would be a great choice. I also got an asada taco which was a nice pair to tone down my overall meal. Overall: Cool vibe. Great drinks. Some of the food was great, some just okay. We arrived at the restaurant on a Sunday night with a reservation. There were more people outside the restaurant waiting than those inside. It didn't seem like a manger was present. A bartender and waitress were helping seat people. We were planning to catch a movie for Galentine's Day in an hour and 20 minutes and I was worried given the hostess was running around setting up table settings and seating people for 10 minutes when we arrived. We weren't greeted for about 5 minutes then just sat at the bar to try to rush things along. They were definitely understaffed but we decided to risk it since it doesn't take too long to prepare most raw items. However, I was pleasantly surprised given poor first impression. In fact, we got our food before our drinks. We were in and out in 21 minutes. Strawberry margaritas were excellent and came with candy. Tostadas were great but I'd recommend ordering chips to scoop up the extra ceviche because they only give you 3 tostadas. Skip the carne asada taco. I really wanted to love this place given the location and vibe, but unfortunately it fell pretty flat for us. The drinks were honestly the biggest letdown. I ordered the jalapeño cilantro margarita, and it tasted more like watered-down cilantro lime water than an actual cocktail--no kick, no balance. My husband got an old fashioned and it was completely undrinkable--super watered down but somehow also tasted like smoke or even gasoline... just very weird and off-putting. We both barely touched our drinks. On the plus side, the ceviche was good and probably the highlight of the visit--but by the time it arrived, we were already pretty turned off by the drinks and just wanted to wrap things up. Considering the price point, it felt like a really mediocre experience overall, especially for what you'd expect in Del Mar. Also worth noting if you're bringing a dog: I wouldn't consider this very big dog-friendly. The space is tight and not particularly accommodating. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and while the ocean view and overall ambiance were beautiful, the experience was not good. I had a reservation, but despite that--and even though there were several empty tables--we still had to wait quite a while to be seated. My friend ordered the fish tacos, which he said were just average, and we shared the potato taquitos, which were also underwhelming. As a vegetarian, I ordered the Nopalita and Tampico tostadas but was mistakenly served a fish tostada. Thankfully, I noticed before eating it. Trying to get a server's attention took forever, and when I finally did, they casually admitted it was the wrong dish without even offering an apology. What was worse, they expected me to still eat the correct tostada that had been sitting next to the fish one, which felt careless and inconsiderate. After yet another long wait, I was finally brought the right tostadas, but they were just okay. The nopalitos were cold and not particularly flavorful--I've had much better elsewhere. To top it off, the server accidentally dropped two churros on the floor and, while they did offer complimentary ice cream for my friend's birthday, it didn't make up for the poor service and food. I understand mistakes happen, but a sincere apology and an effort to make things right go a long way--something I wish the staff here understood. This was a last minute serendipitous find to start off my bachelorette weekend! The location is beautiful and some tables have an ocean view. The music was at the right volume and created a fun yet relaxed mood (think best of Spanish 90s). The food was fantastic! The tacos are pretty substantial so you may only need 1-1.5 with a side. I had the cilantro and jalapeño margarita and sadly wasn't too much of a fan. I found it too sweet which was surprising but after I let it sit for a long while and mashed the lime into it was better. I also ordered the guacamole and this was definitely shareable. I like that it came with 2 salsa options, but will say they all needed salt and more flavor.
