    Mole

Not sure where to start. Rough cooks on the steak, not sure if it's our fault for getting dishes with steak at a Mexican restaurant. I had the mole which its base was delicious, I asked for a medium steak and got it extremely well. My friends steak was the opposite and nearly raw and chewy. Nobody seemed stoked on their tacos and tostadas. We didn't drink and maybe that would've helped us. Also... the bathroom was like a club the music was so loud and the lighting was strobing (in case you're looking for somewhere to party).

Our group of 6 ordered some appetizers and multiple dishes. The dishes were just ok and were mild in flavor and taste. All of us felt that none of the dishes stood out as very good and there was nothing specific to mention about them. Service was good. Disappointed with the taste and lack of flavor.

Came here on Friday for my son's graduation his choice. Was really impressed outstanding service and the food was incredible. Everything tasted delicious. Had a party of 8 but could only get pictures on my side of the table, but everybody pretty much ordered the same things. Was really impressed with the service and the friendliness of the staff. Thank you for making his day special.

We ended up on a Friday night in Del Mar. And decided on this place for dinner due to good Yelp reviews and liked the vibe based on the photos. I was able to get a reservation and we didn't have to wait that long. The hostess was nice and we were given a nice spot. Right away, we like the ambience which is nice and cozy. The food was good and we find the servings to be towards bigger portions. For starters we ordered the Caesar salad. It was huge and the waiter split it for us. That was good and refreshing. We also had the Bone Marrow Quesadilla. They were huge bone marrows sprinkled with rockets greens and quesadillas on the side. We also had an asada taco and quesa birria taco. Which were also good. For drinks I had the cilantro jalapeño which is nothing special. For dessert we had the Kuty's churros which was nothing special. Only thing I didn't like was the credit card processing fee which they pass on the customers. Normal tip rates are now much higher than before. So any additional charges just don't sit right with me. So we try to avoid places like this especially since there's a lot going of good food places out there that don't have extra charges.

We drive to The Oceanside to LaJolla PCH drive and we love driving by Del Mar coast. We just recently drove and as a Yelper, Yelped this place as reviews are good. I had to investigate. Feeling Mexican foodie so I dove right in. Reserved and after about 10 minutes, we got our seat. This place isn't small, but it isn't big either so reserve during busy times. Bar area exists and seating on counter height chairs near the bar too! All pretty much covered cozy outdoor/indoor type seating. I liked the vibe. I tried the bone marrow quesadilla. The bone marrow, I think 3 pieces, was good. The quesadilla that is separate was good too. The bone marrow being sauced a little would have been better served with a plain toast or tortillas, but I get it and ain't complaining. We also had the tacos. Good as well. Finishing it with churros. Service was decent and prices was decent. The only thing I must say is that they charged us for a salad they split without even asking us if we wanted it split. That's a big shame! And on top of that, this place charges more for credit card usage passing the costs to the customers. So your bill that you thought was decent, is now a little fluffier that you would like it to be. I'm not too happy about that! I feel like places that tack on more after you've enjoyed dining, just blows it when doing this! And this place ain't no different. Is that even legal? So what could have been a pretty decent experience becomes a meh experience. Verdict - hard pass for me. I'd rather go to up front pricing rather than a hidden pricing one. Some may call this petty, and it is maybe. But I'd rather pay for the food with the price I see with no hidden things that crop up after enjoying dining C'mon!

Salt plus lime has become our to-go place for happy hour in Del Mar. We love the coziness. The servers are very attentive. We feel at home. One of my girlfriends has recently discovered this gem and we love how petite and colorful and whimsical this restaurant/bar is so now our point of gathering on a frequent basis. The decor is very uplifting and the little pink Vespa-look alike at the door is adorable and prone to selfie taking. The menu has a nice variety and the tacos are truly delicious.

Perfect for date night! We got Sopes De LA Casa as an appetizer, it came with 2 sopes and was delicious. Won Tostada and Taco Mi - Rey were both coming back for, along with a Mango drink that was heavier on the alcohol! The service was attentive and nice!

I wanted to try a new place none of us have ever been to before so I went here with my family for my birthday. I had seen the pictures online and thought it looked like a nice inside outside kind of place. I made the right choice. The food was delicious! I totally can't remember the name but I got the nopales avocado toast tostada thing, so good. I could totally eat a whole plate of that for lunch, easy. I also got a quesabirria but asked to hold the cheese. I'm lactose intolerant which sucks but the taco and consommé were both very tasty. I'm bummed I didn't get the name of our server. She was great. Even brought me a churros dessert that didn't get a photo because it didn't last long enough. Haha

We stopped by for happy Hour drinks. There is a small glimpse of the ocean, just a short distance. We had already had lunch, so just a drink before dinner later. Service was good, drinks were too! Great atmosphere and highly recommend the cilantro margarita!

Came for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday. We had a reservation, but it wasn't too crowded around 3pm. We were seated next to their indoor tree. The restaurant itself is open not enclosed, so on a hot day, it can get a little warm. We started off with their Potato Taquitos. An order comes with three with mashed potato inside. It's topped with a mound of shredded lettuce, crema, cotija cheese, pickled onion, and green salsa. These were pretty good! we also got their Salt & Lime Salad that has mixed greens, queso panela, toasted almonds, cherry tomatoes, mandarins, green apple, avocado, and a cumin vinaigrette. This salad was a pretty big portion size. I enjoyed the mix of toppings, and the dressing was tasty! A refreshing salad on a hot day. I saw photos of their ceviche, and it looked incredible! We got the Ceviche Yucatan with shrimp, fish, onions, tomato, cilantro, radish ,orange lime base, and creamy cilantro. When they bring it to your table, they'll pour on the orange lime based and drizzle on the chili oil. They'll also leave the bottle, so you can add more if you'd like. It also comes with two crispy tostadas, though with the portion size of the ceviche, I think they could have provided more. Though, overall, the ceviche was a hit! I've never had a White Mole before so seeing that on the menu caught my eye. This White Mole dish comes with a variety of mushrooms, green oil, chili powder, and micro cilantro. You can also add chicken, which we did, and it went great with the white mole! Definitely enjoyed this!

    Aguachile Negro
    Michelle L.

I love the outdoor/indoor seating vibe they have. Only qualm is that it was super bright in the spot I was in and I was getting blinded but I love the sun so it was fine. The server was attentive without being too much which was nice. I got aguachile negro and it was super fresh and sour and delicious! If you're looking for a fresh seafood dish and you love shrimp and sour flavors this would be a great choice. I also got an asada taco which was a nice pair to tone down my overall meal. The asada taco was yummy - nothing outstanding but still generally food. Getting both items was the perfect lunch portion for me.

    Potato Taquitos

TL;DR: Beautiful outdoor patio vibes in downtown Del Mar with friendly service and big portion sizes that actually justify the higher price tag. The potato taquitos and Won-Tostada were our top choices that we tried, as well as the Ceviche Yucatan (best for sharing)! The vibe here is absolutely beautiful, starting with their iconic "when life gives you lemons" LED sign right when you walk in. They seat you on a decently sized open-air patio that features a stunning central tree and views of the downtown Del Mar streets. It is the perfect, relaxing aesthetic for a brunch or lunch date with friends, and the space can easily accommodate larger parties. Just a quick heads-up: the patio can get a bit windy and chilly depending on the day, so you'll definitely want to bring a jacket just in case. We kicked things off with the complimentary chips served with a green and orange salsa; neither had much heat, but they were good to munch on. For appetizers, the Potato Taquitos were fantastic--super crispy on the outside with a smooth, milky potato filling, all topped with shredded lettuce and a great green crema. Our waiter also steered us toward the Ceviche Yucatan for sharing, and he was totally right about the size. It was a massive pile of shrimp and mahi-mahi served with two tostadas. The waiter poured a crema and chili oil over it at the table, creating a perfectly acidic, lime-forward flavor profile with a subtle kick of spice. Moving on to the mains, we tried the tostadas. The Sinaloa-style tostada was loaded generously with fish, but the heavy black marinade tasted a bit too much like a sweet Japanese barbecue sauce for our liking, though the fresh serranos added a nice heat. The Won-Tostada, however, was incredible--the mandarin oranges added a perfect sweetness to every bite, it was topped with the perfect amount of sriracha mayo, and the wonton shell itself was incredibly airy and crispy. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and gave great recommendations. One thing to note is the pricing--with entrees sitting at $30+ and single tacos over $9, it definitely feels more like a "$$$" spot than what you might see online. However, the portion sizes really do reflect the cost. We expected small plates but ended up completely full with leftovers to take home. Between the great hospitality, the relaxing patio, and the standout dishes, we'll definitely be back to try the tacos next time!

Come here and you'll be delighted. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the vegan options to the seafood, meat, and chicken. The Heart of Palm Ceviche, Nopalita Tostada, Aguachile Negro, Potato Taquitos, and Roasted Veggie Salad were my favorites. The staff were fantastic. The atmosphere was a 10/10, just like the food. Parking is available in a public garage next door or on the street.

The burger comes with garlic aioli, and I asked for extra on the side for my fries. I finished the burger and almost all the fries, which says a lot. The burger was flavorful and satisfying without being overly heavy, and the fries were crispy and paired well with the extra aioli. My husband got the classic burger, which comes with their version of a 1000 island style dressing, and he liked it. He also ordered a beer that paired well with the burger. My sister-in-law had the ahi tostadas and tuna ceviche and enjoyed both. The flavors leaned fresh and bright, especially the ceviche, which balanced nicely with the heavier items. The space itself is a highlight. There's a lot of natural light coming in through large windows, and the decor is very aesthetic and thoughtfully designed. My cousin loves fruity flavors, so he had the palate cleanser (lemon & ginger) and Straw-hat (mango & passionfruit). The most popular flavor is Leather (brown butter and cookies). Every flavor is excellent. It's really hard to choose. We were told a new location is coming to Oceanside at the former Top Gun house, so I'll be headed there once it opens on a future San Diego trip.
