Fish tacos

Can we just take a second and appreciate the $1.39 fish tacos? There is nowhere else you can find this deal. I eat about 4 fish tacos and I leave pretty full. You have a choice of corn or flour tortilla. Sauce bar includes pickled carrots and onions as well. Service is quick, bathroom is clean (but requires a code), and parking is easy.

When you enter the amazing smells draw you inside. Had to try their famous fish taco! Totally worth it!!! Also got a crispy beef taco, it had a bit of a grease taste (I would something else next time). My husband ordered the surf and turf burrito and it was amazing. The corn and flour tortillas are delicious. I liked that they had a salsa bar. There is ample seating and an outdoor patio. The service was great! Our waitress was very nice and quick to grab what we asked for. We got a side of guacamole to share and it reminded me of Mexico. I would definitely return and recommend it to everyone!!!! They even have cocktails and a nice bar area. Menu is huge! Lots of options

Happy Hour offerings

While coming back home from San Diego, we often stop at El Pueblo for fish tacos and in my opinion you can't find another place that can top the price and size for less than $2!! This place however offers a bar as well so Happy Hour every day from 2pm-7pm or Happy Hour all day on Mondays are a no brainer!! Their margs are worth paying the double for the price during Happy Hour. Great service and delicious food at a great price is worth it to me You will be glad you stopped by.

El Pueblo has a lively atmosphere, but it feels more like a true bar than a restaurant despite having seating for it. It was also very loud, so it may not be the best choice if you are looking for a relaxed meal or easy conversation. The food was fresh, but it did not have much flavor overall. At $8 for a single shrimp taco, the price felt high for what was served. I did appreciate the kiosk ordering system which was convenient, but the food took a while to be delivered after ordering and the carne asada fries were lukewarm and limp when delivered to the table. The cheesecake itself was flavored well, but the outside had an oxidized layer from sitting out, which took away from the dessert. Overall, it could be a decent spot for drinks and a lively night out, but the food did not stand out enough for me to make it a go-to restaurant.

I've come to El Pueblo at least three times and I've literally tried one thing on the menu: fish tacos. For $1.39 each it's a deal that can't be beat, so don't be expecting anything mind blowing. It's a bite full of corn or flour tortilla, a suitable piece of fried fish, some slaw, some tomatoes, and some sauce. Served with some lime wedges. Simple, delicious, and hits the spot every time. Everything else on the menu is much more expensive, probably to offset the costs of these fish tacos. Would I ever try them? Probably not. With order to table service, both a salsa and alcoholic bar, and pet-friendly outdoor seating, this place runs on little, but delivers a lot, and can accomodate large parties. Seems like this is the go-to place for many, and for good reason. From broke college students to working adults, everyone can enjoy a cheap taco.

Absolutely love their fish tacos!! sSOOO cheap and actually tasted so good. Came here before heading to Coronado for the weekend, and it was busy!!! Ordering was quick, but it does take some time to get the tacos. They ask if you want flour or corn tortillas which is so nice. My friends and I were shocked on how yummy and fresh these tacos tasted since the price is so cheap. I can't wait to come back soon.

Fish tacos here are amazing! Especially for $1.39! Nobody can beat the deal and the quality- It's such a cute place in Del Mar, wish I tried this place sooner. I ordered to go, and the food was ready so not sure how quick the actual service would be if I were to dine in but everybody was nice and kind. I learned they offer happy hour, too- will definitely try in the near future :)

Food: 10/10* Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Brace yourselves, this review is going to be a bit diabolical, BUT I'm being dead serious. My relationship with El Pueblo is like that best friend you had from elementary school. Yeah, you might not talk all too often these days, but when you do, it's like no time has passed at all. El Pueblo is the same today, as it was yesterday, as it was in my college days. The fish tacos will probably be in my obituary. I tell everyone about El Pueblo, not because people asked me, just because I'm reminded of how great El Pueblo has been to me. The fish taco (with a flour tortilla) is delightful. Packed with veggies and a crispy piece of freshly fried fish, topped with some of that spicy red salsa--WW. It changes a person. I mean for the price, the value is immaculate. I used a thesaurus for that last sentence. Service and vibe are so good. They serve you your food fast and they bus the table. They play all the sports you could ever imagine. I mean after church on Sunday during football season. A grown man could shed tears. Say goodbye to searching Reddit for nfl streams, say goodbye to instant ramen, say goodbye to sitting at your desk. Say HELLO to fresh tacos, fresh salsa, and free cable TV. Anyway, I could go on and on, but my 15-minute break is over. I could not recommend it enough. Oh also, I saw Kawhi Leonard one time. *I should also note, I've only ever had the fish taco.*

Fish taco soft shell

I was around the area and we found that they have a $1.39 soft shell fish taco. So we ordered it right away. They were pretty busy at the time, it said it will be ready in 40minutes. When we got there, we waited in line and pick it up right away. We can't believe how big it is for only $1.39 and it tasted SO GOOD too! My family said we fs will come back here if we ever around the area again, and we'll try other menu too! The inside was clean.

Breakfast Burrito - Chorizo

I grew up in San Diego, went to college in the Bay Area, and live in Los Angeles currently so feel that I really know good Mexican food and can honestly say this is some seriously delicious Mexican. I grew up in the area so I've been coming to this shopping center for decades, and I've seen all the different restaurants in this location and would say this is probably my favorite of the bunch so far. Inside is really large, they have a full bar, a full salsa bar, and a ton of seating options. You place your order at the counter and they either bring it to you or you can choose to go. Service was very fast and friendly, and my favorite part was how delicious it was. The salsa itself was also very good, I still think Roberto's has the best salsa in town, but El Pueblo has better burritos. I was actually impressed with how good the food was. This morning we stopped in for fish tacos and breakfast burritos and thought they were fantastic. The fish taco is a little bit smaller than you usually get here in town but had great flavor and the breakfast burritos both the chorizo and the bacon were delicious. The tortilla was also very fresh and I already want to come back soon to try a Cali or a Carne Asada burrito. I would highly recommend to anyone and will be back many times in the future.

Fish tacos and carnitas tacos

This place was amazing. The food was delicious and I cannot wait when we come back to SD to eat here again. The fish tacos and carnitas tacos were so good and margaritas were amazing and strong. We talked to so many locals at the bar that were long time customers.

The absolute best fish tacos money can buy. Im not the biggest fan of seafood/fish but I will demolish at least 4 of these. The fish tacos are awesome, you can get them with flour tortillas for a different vibe. They also have a salsa bar, the darker salsa and green salsa are perfect for the tacos. They're each less than $2 and they're a great deal. Theif staff are always super nice and it tends to be busy. They have some outdoor sleeting and indoor as well.

Honestly, 9/10 for a veggie taco because the filling was well seasoned and dressed. The asparagus taco was unfortunately a different story. The asparagus was prepared well, crunchy on the outside but still tender when you bite into it. However, it was not seasoned as well and paled in comparison to the Yogi. The shrimp taco was okay. I think they were very heavy handed with the toppings and dressings and did little in terms of the actual preparation of the shrimp. The chicken taco on the other hand was DELICIOUS. The meat was seasoned well and so juicy. The pineapple salsa was the perfect touch!

$35.50 for ONE Margarita? Check Your Bill Before You Order a Large!…read more Four of us went to Fidel's for dinner tonight. The food was good, and we were enjoying our evening until we received the bill. Two people in our group ordered skinny margaritas. The waitress asked if they wanted a small or a large. One person ordered the large. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to see that ONE large skinny margarita was $35.50. This was not a Cadillac margarita. Nothing special was added. It was simply a large skinny margarita. I went back and looked at the menu because $35.50 for one margarita seemed outrageous. The prices for the smaller margaritas were listed, but I could not find a price listed for the large. Had we been told that ordering a large meant paying $35.50 for one drink, we absolutely would not have ordered it. The food was good, but charging $35.50 for a margarita without clearly showing that price on the menu left such a bad impression that we will not be back. If you order a margarita here, ask exactly how much the large costs before saying yes.
