The Fisherman's Catch is loaded with Pacific mussels, jumbo shrimp, Manila clams, calamari, bay scallops, Louisiana sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes everything is cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I've also tried the Cajun salmon burrito, calamari, and Baja seafood chowder, and every single thing has been delicious. When our party of 5 came we were told to wait a few minutes While we waited, male cashier would come by and asked about our party. He began to put together two empty tables together for us but the female cashier returned and told him not to. Meanwhile a few other couples came in after us and sat at the large tables of four. We had to send back the Poke Nachos because it didn't taste or smell fresh. We weren't given a refund for this. The North Shore Garlic Shrimp was undercooked and underseasoned. We were very happy with the Classic Fish Taco and the Chimichurri Cauliflower. The Oysters were really good as well, but they had lots of seawater in them so wow! they were much saltier than I'm used to for oysters. The Clam Chowder Fries was okay. Not really my thing honestly. I went around 3:30pm right at the start of the happy hour specials as I was already so jet lagged and needed something close by. Yes no doubt the prices during happy hour is very good, some of the best I've seen, with $2 fish tacos (and you get a choice of fried of grilled!) and some other delicious hh specials for some amazing prices. I found the staff to be welcoming, I actually poked my head in first to scope out the spot, and they asked me already if I wanted to check out the hh specials and the menu I said OK. Ended up ordering a bunch of items including a grilled and fried fish tacos, shrimp tempura, cauliflower and a clam chowder soup. Sadly the items really left nothing to be desired. The fish tacos were bland, no flavor in either of the grilled or fried. The shrimp tempura were ok, a lot of batter. The cauliflower were actually good! I would eat this again. And the clam chowder was horrible, just a thick glob with no clams and basically nothing in the soup. Note I did only order all cooked options, as I cannot eat anything raw. I love this place!! It still doesn't disappoints after years of not eating it and coming back because was craving their cioppino. Took my PIL here and they loved it too. We came here for lunch around 1pm with another couple and our three kids under four and it was about half full when we arrived. Parking was super easy since it's in a huge plaza. Our friends got the quinoa bowl with cod and the garlic shrimp rice plate. The standout for me was definitely the cornmeal battered fish. It was fresh, juicy, and cooked really well. The fries that came with it were just okay, but the coleslaw was surprisingly one of my favorites I've had. The Parmesan garlic fries were interesting, there was too much garlic and the garlic was way too spicy and overpowering. It was inexpensive, which probably explains why there seemed to be more batter than actual calamari. The texture was also inconsistent, some pieces were so chewy that we could barely bite through them. But I'd honestly come back just for that fish and slaw combo. The calamari was a little disappointing. My biggest and only issue was the wait for our food. Our friends got their meals pretty quickly, but ours never came out. My husband checked twice, and both times we were told it was coming soon. Meanwhile, two tables that came in after us got their food, and one even finished and left before ours arrived. Our friends were deliberately eating slowly so we could all eat together, but they still ended up finishing before our food showed up which sucked since they had to wait for us later. After hiking the coastline, my husband and I had a big appetite for some fish tacos. We decided to go to Seasurf Fish Co as it had great ratings and was nearby. The place is easy to find and in a large plaza with a Vons, CVS, and various other shops. We went on a Wednesday evening and were able to get a table. I went for the 2 fish taco plate with chips and my husband got the fish burrito. We also got a side of garlic Parmesan fries. I loved my fish tacos and all the salsas that came with it! The tacos were battered and crispy and had a fair amount of fish. I loved the red and green salsas- they were so flavorful without being too spicy. I loved how they gave beans and chips with the meal as well! The whole meal was only $10.99. It was such a good deal! My husband loved his burrito as well- it was huge. It was shocking and for some reason there was like a piece of sourdough bread at the bottom of it? My husband got the fish tacos and he said they were super dry. Order at the counter, pay and they bring the food. The paper bowl they use is horrendous. Within the minutes it took to walk to my car, the oil from the poke dressing seeped through the bowl and got all over my pants. I had to run home to treat my pants overnight to remove the oil stains. They need to use better quality bowls. The salmon chunks are cut way too thick and big. The poke was ok only, didn't taste super fresh and good. The customer service is crap. It's amazing that only a couple bad front of house employees can ruin the whole experience of your restaurant. The wait time is exhausting and the customer service was so rude about a pick up order. The lady literally just had to turn around to handing my food and she made me wait 15 to 20 minutes while my food sat there and got cold and I looked while I was looking at it and wouldn't even let me tell her it was behind her. I never thought a place like Seasurf Fish Co could exist; affordable, fresh seafood in this economy? No way! The space is decently large where you order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. The cashier was working both the main line of customers plus those that sat at the bar (kudos to her). I think menu-wise they strike a good balance between diverse seafood options and a menu-leaning more on the larger side. There's definitely going to be something for everyone (poke bowls, burritos, tacos, salad, fish plates, etc). The crispy calamari were great with a good batter. I really liked their homemade cocktail sauce that it came with too. For $8, this is a great shareable. The chimichurri cauliflower ($4) was so good too! The chimichurri was so flavorful and together it was a great combination. The garlic parmesan fries ($2) were good as well with a good amount of garlic on top. I got 3 a la carte tacos (mix and match; beer-batter fish taco, cajun fish taco, avocado shrimp). The best one was by far the beer-batter fish taco. The batter was nice and crispy and overall I felt that you really got the best flavor from it vs the other ones. We also got the White Fish Basa plate which comes with rice and vegetables. It's a big order and for only $13?! How is this possible?! The fish was delicious and the overall plate was so worth it. For the two people who were sharing it, they couldn't even finish it. The fish was flavored great and flaky. The only miss was the Baja Seafood Chowder. Personally I wasn't a fan of the flavor profile/seasoning. It felt very one-note and so I'd skip this next time. But as you can tell, there's no place that provides affordable and great seafood like SeaSurf. read more

After a UCSD appointment I was hungry and remembered I'd enjoyed happy hour here in the past. I had been meaning to come back, but I don't live close. The timing was perfect. We indecisively looked at the menu and chose our items. Fish tacos, chicken and black bean nachos and ginger garlic wings. The tacos tasted okay but the layer of breading was so thick and excessive that you couldn't taste the fish and most bites were mostly breading. The chicken nachos had a lot of flavor and were my favorite. The wings were my dining partner's favorite. Everything was good with the exception of the excessive breading on the fish. There's a bar, indoor, and outdoor seating. As soon as you walk in, there's a cashier area where you order your food and drinks, get a number, and sit. We ordered a clam chowder, spicy poke bowl, fish tacos, and two Cokes. The Cokes come in cans and they'll give you cups of ice. They also have a craft soda machine. The clam chowder came out first. It's thick, creamy, and very comforting. We got our entrees shortly after the clam chowder arrived. The tuna in the poke bowl was great, lots of flavor and went perfectly with the sweet, pickled cucumbers. The rice in the bowl was not the best, it was a bit hard and very stuck together. The rest of the items in the bowl were so good, I didn't even care. The fish tacos came with a side of chips, salsas, and beans. The fish tacos were seasoned well and were a good size.
