    Happy Bowl ($13.95) - This was a customizable bowl with two scoops of protein. The tuna and salmon were fresh but the scoops could've been bigger. I loved the mixture of sauces (Pokewan, K Spicy, Sriracha Mayo) I got because it added great flavor and heat. I'm not rushing to come back here, especially for the price, but it's a pretty solid poké bowl.

    My favorite poke place in SD county, flavor wise. Good quality fish, good sauces, good portion for the price. Depending on the person that makes your bowl, the protein portion seems to vary a bit in quantity. Is it "good value"? Debatable, but for the price of a good roll you get a huge bowl of food. Today they had no seafood salad. Bummer... and they charge for the first scoop of crab, which used to be included.

    Three people in line = 15-20 minute wait. Why? Because the team was nonstop working on to-go orders while only two people handled in-store customers. The food is fine, but the service setup makes no sense and kills the experience.

    I ordered a poke bowl in the "Happier" size, and got salmon and tuna as my proteins along with several toppings. They have seaweed salad as one of the free add-ons, which is really nice! The portion sizes are smaller than most of the poke restaurants I have been to in San Diego, but most of the ingredients were pretty fresh. They also have some unique ingredients that I normally don't see at other poke spots, like mango salsa, beets, and herb tofu. Service was kind of slow on the day I went, but there seemed to be a large volume of online orders and only one worker when I went. The interior is clean and there is plenty of seating as well. I would probably come back once in a while if I am in the area and this is a solid choice even if it is pretty pricey!

    I was skeptical about this place at first because it is a bit overpriced, but overall a solid place! It's hard to find really good poke in California that has a reasonable price these days. The bowl with 4 scoops is $16.95. I will say that the fish is fresher than poke 1/2. I didn't love the sauces that I got because I was expecting something spicy, but it tasted more sweet and tangy. The bowl is filled nicely and the fish itself is pretty good. I don't think the small bowl is worth it, so definitely size up to the bigger bowl! Service was quick and nice, not a long line on a Friday evening.

    Shared 1 Create Your Own Poke Bowl (Happier) with my wife for dinner; and we did not even finish the whole bowl. This place has one of the best Poke Bowl in town: 1. Good amount of protein 2. Can still taste the fish that we added (tuna, salmon and spicy tuna) which means that the toppings, the base and the crunch really complemented well with the fish 3. Fish texture for their spicy tuna (not mashed potato-like texture) 4. Best sauce combination: pokewan and garlic mustard Highly recommend trying this place.

    Super pleased with Pokewan - The employees here make good bowls. Like a lot of OCD when putting the bowl together which makes for a really awesome presentation and eating experience. Love this place

    In town for work and came across this Poke Bowl spot. The selection of poke, sides and toppings were plentiful and if you wanted more of a certain topping and sides, no problem. The rice was plain and when I eat Poke Bowl, I expect sushi rice and not plain rice. All of the ingredients were fresh. The service was pleasant. I would consider returning to this location.

We found nearby street parking fairly easily. The hostess was able to quickly accommodate us with a table despite our early arrival. Indoor dining space is minimal. But as an upstairs restaurant with "Balcony" literally in its name, the outdoor patio is where you want to be. Our server was a inconsistent on attentiveness & was slow to warm up, though she was quite personable later in the meal. Along with all of the al fresco charm dining on the balcony offered, there was also a curious & less desirable element of the ambiance. During our meal, someone went around shooting pics/ videos for social media. It felt distracting & intrusive. While the SDRW menu was what brought us here, we opted for the Chef's menu after looking over all the options. I ordered the Salmon Croquette/ Denver Steak/ Churros. She ordered Cioppino Soup/ Barramundi/ S'More Cake. Although the pacing of our courses from the kitchen was uneven, most of what we had was good to great to wonderful. Sharing tastes of our dishes with each other, the 1 egregious miss for me was the Cioppino Soup. The seafood in it was good. But that broth was not. Aside from that, the Salmon Croquette & the Barramundi were delicious. The Denver Steak was a revelation. I'd never heard of this cut before, so I looked it up. Truly, a bang for the buck all star. & prepared perfectly here with a fantastic chimichurri. For our desserts, my Churros were good but not anything to get particularly excited about. Now, on the other hand, that S'More Cake? Wow. insanely indulgent with an ooey-gooey center. I honestly can't think of a better way to end a meal. Overall, the ambiance, service, & food all had highs & lows. Collectively, though, the sum total of the experience was pleasant enough that I would be interested in coming back. My threshold for 4 stars is if I'd come back. So, 4 stars it is.

Once seated, the hostess passed me an envelope with a sweet card from the GM congratulating us on our special milestone. I got a refreshing lychee mocktail. All the food was fabulous. We started with their hanging bacon and their complimentary bread rolls. The hanging bacon slices were thick, beautifully presented, and delicious. We also got the scallop entree for an appetizer. It came with 6 huge, tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned scallops and an extraordinarily delightful sauce. I held onto the sauce for my steak! Incredible attention to detail for each guest. Service was extremely attentive. Our water glasses were refilled frequently! They paced the courses well and did not make us feel rushed. A couple of additional delighters-- the toilets automatically open their lids when you are there, they auto-flush, and their lids auto-close. I love the high tech and very clean bathroom. This is the portion. It had good amount of jugó but the flavor wasnt like anything we'd tasted in Peru. BUT there's many many areas in Peru and we've only lived in a few and have only visited a handful more so just because it's not like any lomo we've tasted, doesn't mean it's not Peruvian. My daughter still liked it. It was high soy sauce and high vinegar taste. Lomo has both, but it was missing the cumin and flame flavor for me. None of the dishes are repeats for us but again, they taste good, just not the flavors we are use to, it's been a while so maybe that's why the causa and lomo tasted different.
