I have been going here for a while when down this way. This is a go-to spot to keep on your list for consistently tasty, fast (but not fast food), fresh food at a great value. Prices here beat out most other places you can go and you can walk out of here for a great meal for under $20. We like the fish tacos (huge and stuffed with fish and cabbage and stuff), salmon sandwich-tasty salmon filet with slaw of carrot, cucumber, lettuce and other tasty stuff, fish and chips (portion of two pieces is plenty for most people), fried shrimp is good too. Not very busy but feel like the people that do come here are frequent flyers. BATTERED FISH - KIDS MEAL ($10.5) - Two fish pieces, served with a side/picked French fries, and a drink. What can I say? I eat like a bird. This meal was very filling that I had to pack half of it. It was plenty for a kids meal but I always wasn't devouring it because it was just okay-average. The batter on the fish tasted like plain fried donut (no seasoning and kind of cake-y flavor). The fries were crispy but plain. You do have to reply on the dips and condiments for flavor. I squirted lemon and tried both dipping sauces (dill dip which tasted like ranch and dill and tartar sauce; tartar sauce was a lot better). RECOMMEND CUP OF NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER ($7.5) - Clams, creme, potato, onion, carrot, celery. I was impressed with their clam chowder until after my meal I had the urgency to "drop the kids off at the poolside". It was hearty and creamy, not stringy on the clam meat, and full of flavor. The soft drinks station has Maine root beer, Mexican coke, blue berry soda, vanilla crème and ginger brew. The flavor of both seafood (Alaska cod and calamari) with the parsley tastes fresh and yes more flavorful than what I had compared to California fish grill. The Fish District really does that little extra--fresh parsley, brighter seasoning, lighter batte. So, it makes everything feel less heavy and more "alive." That herb finish I mentioned. Plenty of seating, you can sit down and they have a QR menu and you can directly order from your seat. Very reasonable priced, the most expensive item on their menu is $16. The food was great, we ordered clam chowder cup with a Half tuna melt for an extra $6.50; and fish and chips. Would recommend this place, from the tartar sauce, the crispy exterior well seasoned soft on the inside fish and chips. The tuna melt wasn't super mayo-ish and bread was well toasted. For a local chain this location rocks. Right off the highway with easy access to the hiking trails. Some of the best and fish and chips that can be easily customized that one can get . I ordered the chicken teriyaki, upgrading to quinoa instead of rice for $1, and opted for vegetables, though cabbage is also available as an option. There are so many great fish places in North Coastal San Diego so we finally tried this chain because of a free clam chowder coupon in the mail. We had the ahi salad that was surprisingly good especially with white rice at the bottom. Nice tangy dressing and generous amount of tuna. We also had the combo fish & shrimp with chips...excellent. Big shrimp, fresh fish, crispy...but the fries were soo good. PS - It's counter service and you sit anywhere. The level of disrespect from the employees at this place is unbelievable. I've never felt so openly unwelcome in a restaurant. From the moment you interact with them, it's clear they have no respect for customers or really for anyone whatsoever. The tone is rude, dismissive, and arrogant. You're spoken to like you're a problem instead of a paying customer. No basic manners, no professionalism, no attempt to hide their irritation. It's not subtle--it's blatant. What makes it worse is that this behavior is consistent across the staff. This isn't one bad employee having a rough day. This is a pattern. When every interaction feels hostile, that tells you exactly how this place is run. Management clearly allows--or encourages--this kind of behavior. And the food? Just as bad. Greasy, low quality, and clearly prepared without care. Heavy, unpleasant, and hard to finish. The food reflects the same attitude as the staff: rushed, careless, and disrespectful to the customer. This restaurant has a serious culture problem. Disrespectful employees, poor leadership, and food that isn't worth the money or the frustration. Until there is a complete overhaul in how staff are trained and managed, this place does not deserve customers. This small but welcoming spot is tucked away in a strip mall, but on the positive side that left a lot of available parking on a weeknight when most of the shops were closed. The salmon bowl had a generous portion of fish, well prepared, and the shrimp tacos were great. Worth a visit! Came here for the first time tonight looking for something fast and healthy and this spot was PERFECT. The guy at the counter was so nice and offered excellent customer service! That made me happy. We got 2 grilled fish plates (seared ahi and mahi mahi). Both were excellent and fresh tasting. You get 2 generous sides and bread with the plates, so plenty of food. I liked that the sautéed veggies were not greasy at all. We also got the poke on crispy rice which was hard to eat but delicious. Value is on point-- good portions and fair prices. The ambiance inside was really nice too for an order at the counter type of establishment.
