Blacken salmon with a delicious salad
Alma T.

I will highly recommend this restaurant amazing food from food to cocktails. Service great attentive and knowledgeable and friendly. Amazing view and the choice of patio or outside sitting with a sunset view. Food pricing really affordable for brunch and dinner. I will definitely keep coming thank you for taking care of me and my family .

I had a great time here for weekend brunch! Great location by Torrey pines beach. It was very empty when I was there which was interesting. They have a lot of indoor and patio seating. It was clean. The service was outstanding as he was very kind & attentive. I ordered bottomless (22$) which was worth the price. I also ordered the crab cake bene which was crispy and flavorful. My friend didn't like her omelet though. The menu has a lot of great options such as sandwiches, soup, tacos. I would come back to try the clam chowder. Parking will be tough on the street.

Elevated dining experience off the beaten path and good for a nice meal after visiting Torrey Pines. You can even walk there from the Torrey Pines North Beach parking lot. I tried a breakfast burrito, which was pretty good. It wasn't your average burrito and they elevate the cuisine with nice touches such as a sauce on top.

Tucked away in Del Mar, West End Bar & Kitchen is a laid-back neighborhood gem with a scenic lagoon backdrop. The menu leans contemporary American with fresh seafood, hearty portions, and crowd favorites like clam chowder, crab ravioli and more. The vibe is relaxed yet lively, especially on the patio during sunset. Service is friendly and attentive, making it an easy go-to for brunch, happy hour, or dinner with friends. While some dishes shine more than others, the overall experience is good food, strong drinks, and a beautiful setting- makes it worth a visit. Shoutout to Ricky for being our favorite server! Definitely coming back!

Figgy pudding

Came here for an early dinner to celebrate my birthday! I ordered my usual; meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies, dark beer and figgy pudding for dessert. I loved it so much last visit I just had to get it again. Lovely service, excellent food, beautiful view. What more could a person ask for?

Very happy that my husband found this last minute for our anniversary date night. Beautiful aesthetic and absolutely phenomenal food! Got the Tropicale Salad to start. And it was quite a nutritious and hearty salad. Fresh mango and tomatoes and hearts of palm with the rugula and that dressing was unbelievably good! We asked for the dressing on the side and added only a little and it was just perfectly enough. Added some grilled shrimp on top and that flavor was really lovely! Only downside is that there were only four shrimp there and portion size of the hearts of palm and the mango was also quite little. So it was a lot of arugula with very little of the extra toppings. Mussels in Coconut Curry - real good! What a large portion size of the muscles and the sauce was also very smooth and had a nice distinct coconut flavor with a nice herbiness as well. Grilled crusty bread on the side was very soft and perfect on the inside and crusty on the outside. The combination of the muscles with the sauce and the bread was really lovely. Del Mar Crab Ravioli - UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! I have no words to say how good this was! Really large raviolis with a good amount of filling(real proper crab not just some mixture of stuff) + very delicious creamy sauce. Super good! It was only 4 raviolis, but they were large!! That also got us a Figgy Bread Pudding on the house when I happened to mention that it was our anniversary dinner. The bread pudding was SO soft and warm and cozy and just wow! Super yummy and indulgent. Server also recommended a vanilla ice cream on the side and it was just the perfect sidekick. 10/10 recommend this place. Everything was a hit and service was really nice as well!

Crabcake Benedict

Pretty solid brunch spot! Lots of really yummy options, both savory and sweet! I'll have to go back and try more than things next time! Had the original Bloody Mary, crab cakes Benedict and the duck potstickers. All were great, service was excellent, they have a parking lot behind the restaurant, and prices were comparable to other spots in the area for the current market. 6 of us ate with drinks for $200 (automatic 20% gratuity included for our large party). Ambience was cozy, rustic, lots of windows let us have some great natural light in. Perfect spot to grab a bite after a walk in Torrey Pines.

Located right across from the Los Penasquitos Lagoon this little brunch and lunch spot is on the border of Del Mar and Carmel Valley. I have driven down this street countless times over the years and I've seen all the different versions that have been in this place and will say West End is my favorite of those. We usually stop in for breakfast and every time that we do it is consistently good. Inside is also recently remodeled and they did a really great job with the bar area especially. There is a free parking lot attached out back otherwise neighborhood parking is also easy to find. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. We started off with the Shrimp Ceviche, which is pretty good, although it was a little too watery in my opinion. It almost was like a soup with some ceviche in it. For my breakfast, I chose the Crab Cake Benedict and thought it was fantastic. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the crabcake was full of crab flavor and I just loved it. They were also perfectly crispy and I really enjoyed the meal as a whole. They also have other great options on the menu so I would highly suggest to anyone in or near the area to give it a try.

They made me brunch even though they're only on lunch menu! Plus, they let me in early! What a wonderful place Thank you so much, Fernanda!

West End Caesar with chicken
Kirsten K.

Ample parking, friendly staff, great food! The special was braised short rib ravioli which is what my friend got and I got the Caesar salad with chicken and no croutons. The ravioli was flavorful and filling. The sauce was creamy and the mushrooms were plentiful. The salad was crisp and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I would definitely eat here again!

I stopped by for Happy Hour and while I wasn't blown away by the HH food menu, the customer service made a big impression. Our server, Ricardo, was fantastic--super attentive--and I believe the owner also came by to check on us, which was a nice touch. That kind of hospitality definitely makes me want to come back. Roasted Brussel Sprouts ($12): Decent, but nothing special. Baja Ceviche ($12): Wouldn't reorder. Ahi Tuna Poke ($18): This was the standout--my favorite of the evening. Fries ($8): Disappointed. Portion felt small for the size of the bowl. I get that HH portions can be smaller, but maybe serve it in a smaller dish so it looks more intentional. Overall, the food didn't win me over for HH, and I'd probably try other spots for that. That said, I had a genuinely great experience thanks to the staff, and I'd be open to coming back for drinks or trying the regular menu to support the business.

Just had a great brunch here with five other friends. I was worried about parking since it'a a beautiful Saturday and I lots of people heading for Torrey Pines but it was not an issue at all. They have a lot in the back and there was plenty on the side streets. I ordered salad Niçoise and the seared tuna was a healthy portion and delicious. It could have used a little more of the veggies but the salad was very large. Dressing delicious. It was a great healthy option. Service was very quick and friendly. Nice decor and the restaurant was not overly busy or loud.

Cioppino Coastal Style

Great experience here tonight with my mom and husband. Parking was easy in their lot, not too busy on a Monday at 6 pm. Attentive and friendly staff, shout out to Carla! Had a craving for cioppino and this definitely hit the spot. The octopus carpaccio was yummy, and the pesto bread was good but I prefer the actual tentacle so I can actually taste the deliciousness of the meat. Clam CHOWDAH was bomb, had lots of clams! Meatloaf super flavorful. Husband got the hamburger- super juicy and fries perfect texture. Was a great spot. Didn't realize it's from the same owners as The Godfather, Butcher Shop, Studio Diner... all great spots! Looks like they allow dogs on the patio Would definitely come back!

Dog friendly and will bring my cavapoo next time~ We ordered mor k g glory sandwich ($22) eggs La Jolla ($21) and 2 piece stuffed French toast ($14.75). I'd say the ftench toast was meh. But the other two tasted great especially the morning glory! Yummmm Service was great too: our waitress was honest about the portion size and the two dishes were probably enough for the 3 of us females. We still wanted order one more and she recommended 1/2 size French toast. It's also located at a nice area where you can walk around. We parked the garage attached to the restaurant. We left within 1 hour and didn't have to pay but not sure what the parking fee is there. I will definitely come back to this place in the near future!!

They have outdoor seating, but it looked cramped and right next to the walkway and the road so not very inviting. The service was not very personable and only checked in on us once. We had to flag down someone to refill our coffee. We ordered the Benedict, French toast, and an omelet. The omelet was great, but the French toast tasted bland, and they charge for each fruit you add to it, so if you want bananas and blueberries you need to pay extra, which I found odd since the La Jolla location just brought a medley of fruit. The biggest disappointment was the syrup--it wasn't maple syrup but what looked like house-made pancake syrup, and the consistently was an unappetizing gooeyness instead of viscous. For the prices they charge I at least expect maple syrup, not high fructose corn syrup for my French toast. Overall I probably would skip this place and try something else next time I'm in Del Mar.

What a super chill venue!…read more Went here with my sister's friends for Sunday brunch this past weekend. The venue is pretty stellar! They're dog friendly, have large grassy areas and corn hole; it's such a vibe. It's all about the outside dining area and that awesome wall of jasmine flowers. It was breezy and the scent traveled making the experience super unique. We were famished and everything on the menu looked next level good. Our waitress Cynthia answered all our annoying questions. I got the lavender lemonade to start and it hit the spot. The lavender was perfect, not too perfumy (not a word apparently but it is today) but enough to say ok, there's lavender in there and I like it. It was refreshing. My main meal was the chilaquiles which had a nice kick to it so beware if you can't tolerate any spicy flavors. It was more of a soup in presentation but I love sauce and may have licked the bowl because I'm classy. We also desperately wanted the side of potatoes because we kept seeing it and all of us ended up getting an order and did not regret it. The potatoes include the skin, salted and super crunchy. It's like fry well fries and I'm all about it. We will be back!!!

Which is what brought us to Beeside Balcony in Del Mar during the 1st SDRW of 2026. We had Saturday night reservations & got into town early with some time to kill. We found nearby street parking fairly easily. The hostess was able to quickly accommodate us with a table despite our early arrival. Indoor dining space is minimal. But as an upstairs restaurant with "Balcony" literally in its name, the outdoor patio is where you want to be. Our server was a inconsistent on attentiveness & was slow to warm up, though she was quite personable later in the meal. Along with all of the al fresco charm dining on the balcony offered, there was also a curious & less desirable element of the ambiance. During our meal, someone went around shooting pics/ videos for social media. It felt distracting & intrusive. While the SDRW menu was what brought us here, we opted for the Chef's menu after looking over all the options. I ordered the Salmon Croquette/ Denver Steak/ Churros. She ordered Cioppino Soup/ Barramundi/ S'More Cake. Although the pacing of our courses from the kitchen was uneven, most of what we had was good to great to wonderful. Sharing tastes of our dishes with each other, the 1 egregious miss for me was the Cioppino Soup. The seafood in it was good. But that broth was not. Aside from that, the Salmon Croquette & the Barramundi were delicious. The Denver Steak was a revelation. I'd never heard of this cut before, so I looked it up. Truly, a bang for the buck all star. & prepared perfectly here with a fantastic chimichurri. For our desserts, my Churros were good but not anything to get particularly excited about. Now, on the other hand, that S'More Cake? Wow. insanely indulgent with an ooey-gooey center. I honestly can't think of a better way to end a meal. Overall, the ambiance, service, & food all had highs & lows. Collectively, though, the sum total of the experience was pleasant enough that I would be interested in coming back. My threshold for 4 stars is if I'd come back. So, 4 stars it is.
