Myself and my friend were looking for Jimmy o's bar and we took a wrong turn and ended up at this place we decided to stop at this bar last night for one drink and then head to the other spot. There were probably 3 other people there around 8pm. When we walked in the bartender looks at us and greets us he walks over and says what can I get for you guys. I asked him if he had Tito's and told him what I wanted he immediately then puts his hands in my face and says um excuse me. Hi welcome. I said hello. He says I have a couple more tables to attend to give me a minute. Myself and my friend were like oh sorry.. I immediately asked my friend am I trippen or was that weird. She agreed it was very rude but we brushed it off. Another guy comes up and he was very nice and asked us if we had been helped and we were like no. He then asks what he can get us. AGAIN that same bartender that was rude to us starting yelling at him "uhm excuse me chef. NO! Go hand the other people there waters" at that moment I looked at the bartender and stated that he was very rude and we would take our business somewhere else. He then laughed at us as we walked out. We went and spent 100 dollars at Jimmy o's and had a great time. Will never come back to this place. I put a picture from another recent Yelp review of the 2 bartenders. The one on the right was the nice one the one on the left was the extremely rude one.

I shouldn't talk about this, I shouldn't rate this but I can't hold back...Rodrigo is a legend behind the bar. The drinks are top tier. If you get the chance to come here, it's so worth it. Del Mar finally has a speakeasy! The tequila here runs deep, you'll find everything you like and more. This place isn't just a bar it's a speakeasy ran by Logan and Rodrigo who are both students of the craft at a high level.

Had heard great things about the new La Tienda Lounge in Del Mar so stopped by after dinner. LOVED it! Rodrigo made great recommendations for cocktails to try. Elevated ambiance, and a cool vibe! Loved my mocktail too! Definitely will be back to try the small bites menu with Cardiff Crack Nachos and ceviche.

I've always balked at craft cocktails--expensive and not that good. But the cocktails at La Tienda have changed my mind for good. They offer flavorful cocktails--where you taste the underlying liquor and the accompaniments--at a very reasonable price. I'll be back. And the bartenders are great! Logan and Rodrigo!!! Thank you!

Logan is the best! Don't waste your time with other places, especially the margarita next door. This place is rad!

The outside patio is especially pleasant and makes for a great place to sit, enjoy your meal, and take in the fresh ocean air. Being so close to the ocean really adds to the experience and gives the whole place a laid back coastal feel. The menu features Mexican and Latin fusion food with some creative and flavorful options. Everything I tried felt thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The cucumber margarita was incredibly refreshing with a bright cucumber flavor and just the right touch of sweetness. It was crisp, light, and perfect for the setting. The seaside molcajete was a standout dish for me. It is a hearty seafood stew served bubbling hot and packed with different kinds of seafood. If you enjoy seafood, this is definitely something worth ordering. The Baja fish tacos were also very satisfying with thick pieces of fish that were flaky and flavorful. It is a simple dish but done very well. I also tried the chicken enchiladas which came as a comforting plate with a little bit of everything. The chicken was tender and the dish had a rich and satisfying flavor. Overall Tamarindo Del Mar is a great spot if you are looking for Mexican and Latin inspired dishes in a relaxed coastal setting. Between the pleasant patio, the ocean nearby, and the flavorful food, it is definitely a place I would come back to.

This restaurant did absolutely nothing for my tastebuds, I should have saved my money and ate at the taco shop across the street instead. Fidel's was always the go to main spot, but it would often get too busy and crowded so Tony's Jacal was a solid second option. It's a traditional sit down Mexican restaurant with truly great flavors and quick service. It's quite large on the inside, they have indoor seating and out, and when you sit down you're given a number and then when you are ready to check out and pay, you leave the table and give the cashier your number and then pay at the front. A unique system, but it works. Parking is also extremely easy, there are plenty of free spaces all around the restaurant as there is a large parking lot attached on the side and then back. Everything that we ordered came out very fast and our server was friendly. I started off with a cup of the Albondigas Soup and loved it. It really hit the spot on a cold November night and I would happily order it again. For my entrée, I chose the El Rey combo and selected Carne Asada and Chile Colorado (red). Both were great as expected and the tortillas were fresh and delicious. Every part of the meal was honestly really good and I have zero complaints. Pricing is fair, the menu is huge, and service is fast. It's a great option if you're in the mood for some great Mexican food.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY…read more Came in on a Friday around 1:15 PM. The patio had a few tables already seated and looked nice at first glance. The experience started off a bit off-putting. There's a sign saying no dogs allowed on the patio, which felt odd for an outdoor space. We were told dogs weren't allowed, even though another table had a dog sitting there. Our dogs are registered service animals, and when that came up, the interaction felt tense rather than straightforward. We ultimately said we'd take our business elsewhere, especially since there are other restaurants very close by. After that, the situation shifted. One of the staff members ended up seating us, and our server was genuinely great. She was kind, attentive, and easily the best part of the service experience. Another staff member did seem a bit uncomfortable or standoffish when bringing waters, but things improved once our server took over. Food-wise, I ordered the turkey taco and enchilada combo with rice and beans. They're known for turkey dishes, but it didn't really stand out to me. The turkey was on the dry side. The beef enchilada was better and pretty standard for Tex-Mex. The salsa had a solid heat to it, which I didn't care for. They don't serve queso, which was surprising. I also tried the guacamole, but it tasted more processed than fresh, so I wouldn't order that again. We also tried one of their popular margaritas, which our server recommended. It was fine, nothing memorable, but not bad either. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. At checkout, the same staff member who initially handled the dog situation was much friendlier and even gave us a chocolate on the house, which was a nice gesture and appreciated. Overall, the patio is cute and the service from our server was excellent. That said, the initial welcome and inconsistent handling of the patio policy left a bad first impression. Food was average. I don't see myself coming back though.

It' is a charming little taco shop tucked away in a small mini mall at 524 Stevens Avenue in Solana Beach. I ordered a pollo asado burrito, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. Also, the service was impressively quick as my burrito was ready within five minutes of ordering. The ambiance was enhanced by cheerful, happy Mexican music playing softly in the background.
