On their best days this is decent not great Thai. Some dishes are consistently better than others. Some dishes are good some days and so-so other days. The pineapple fried rice is always a safe and worthwhile pick. It's good when first served and reheated as next day leftovers. And as we all know, I'm a sucker for good leftovers. The pineapple fried rice looks like a small portion but it's much more food than meets the eye. Stay away from the fried tofu. It was an epic let down. The drunken noodles are just ok. But they are perfectly fine when I'm hungry and in no mood to cook. The red Thai curry was too greasy, weak and thin for my liking and I wouldn't order it again. Honestly, I would only order the pineapple fried rice again without hesitation. I don't usually comment on other reviews, but I am really confused by those saying this is the best Thai in the city. Either I'm missing something or people really need to get out more and explore the plethora of exceptional Thai this city has to offer. The folks at Dannee are very friendly and seem like the sweetest group I've encountered in a long time. For that, I enjoy stopping in as well. That said, it's worth ordering pick-up or delivery via phone because they seem to have problems syncing up their online delivery systems and I've had issues with orders never making it to them. Came to this restaurant last night when visiting my friend who just moved to Brooklyn 2 weeks ago. Thai food sounded perfect because it was raining like crazy that day, so warm and spicy sounded heavenly. Thank goodness this place satisfied that crave. The interior of the restaurant is super cute. It's dimly lit with a modern Asian flare. Perfect for date nights and girls night out. We ordered pineapple curry, tom kha, and veggie dumplings (comes with 5). Everything was delicious! The pineapple curry had the perfect kick and had a generous amount of actually pineapple pieces. The dumplings were soft and juicy. I love that rice came with the meal too. Many other Thai restaurants will charge you for rice. They have a lunch special. I believe it's a drink, appetizer, and entree for $10. If I lived in Brooklyn this would definitely become a go-to spot for me! read more

Not a bad Thai spot. Had the panang curry and pad Thai, both with tofu. Panang was good, but we wanted a little more spicy pep (maybe ask about spice levels!). There were slivers of red peppers in the sauce, but no other vegetables. The pad thai was a lovely combination of textures, I especially appreciated the bean sprouts. The only thing with this dish is that it was almost unbearably sweet, which I understand is a commonality with the dish, but here, it was just a little too much. Not really sure why this place has such high reviews...went here, ordered thai iced tea, two soups, veggie pad thai, and veggie dumplings. Everything was just kind of gross minus the Thai iced tea. The soups had chucks of stale and butter green onion (dark hard yellow pieces) which made unedible. The Pad Thai was really greasy, lacking a lot of flavor, had almost no peanuts on it, and the tofu was slimy. The dumplings were lacking in any real sustenance or flavor. The decor was nice, the place was cozy and quiet at the least. I would say for $40 w/ tip for 2, you can do better in Brooklyn. read more

First time having Thai food and I enjoyed it. I had the shrimp pad Thai, vegetable rolls, and coconut sticky rice. All were tasty.. The Thai Iced tea was excellent. There was a $10 fixed lunch menu that included a starter, entree, and iced tea. There was a decent variety of options and the portions were perfect. The restaurant itself is small, no frills. Really great food and fantastic lunch special. I had never heard about them, until a coworker ordered, and I was thrilled to see they came to our offices because there aren't any good Thai options in this area. I went with their $10 lunch special which includes an appetizer, main dish, and a drink. I chose pad thai and some kind of dumpling for the app, both were very delicious and the portions are big, enough that I wasn't able to finish and had left over for dinner. Best Thai food in the hood! I'm obsessed with their Tom Yum Shrimp Noodle Soup which is what saved me this week as I was fighting through a severe head cold. I ordered it twice along with a delicious order of Tofu Pad Thai. I didn't realize the tofu would be fried (not my favorite) but I ate it anyway! Next time I'll stick with the shrimp. Yum. I had thai food for dinner at Dannee's yesterday and I had thai food again for lunch today. The pad thai is SO GOOD. The portions were pretty big and I thought I would have to take some home, but it was so good I couldn't stop eating. Hence, another thai place for lunch today due to endless craving. I tried to come here for lunch when the restaurant was still new, but oddly, the place wasn't open at noon, even though it technically should have been according to their official hours. The food is good and they deliver to my side of Bushwick but after a few orders, I noticed this place is inconsistent (they will randomly be closed during regular hours) and their delivery person was so beyond rude to me after he went to a different address than the one given. ugh WHY WONT YOU LET ME LOVE YOU DANNEE THAI amazing food. It's a good option to have available, although I would never recommend it to someone looking for good Thai food. Oh man! I loved this place. And so did my 18 month old. It was nothing fancy - basic Thai food - but it was very light, fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent. The decor was really warm and welcoming. And the place was clean. One of the people working there even insisted on cleaning the high chair before we sat the baby in it - parents, when was the last time a restaurant cared about handing over a non-sticky, yucked up high chair to you? For me it was never, until here. Really glad they're in the neighborhood - it's been a long time since I had Tom Ka soup, for example, without it tasting greasy and fishy. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Went on a Saturday night around 8p, had the spring rolls, steamed vegetable dumplings, chicken pad keemao and the chicken in basil sauce. Everything was fresh, prepared quickly and was absolutely delicious. Big portions, for an inexpensive price. Love the atmosphere within the restaurant and that its BYOB! One of my more recent reviews on Yelp lamented the lack of Thai delivery options in Brooklyn. But that was before Dannee started delivering to my area! This is REAL DEAL Thai. Perfect flavor profiles, really fresh food, and incredibly attentive service. The food is amazing and, most importantly, authentic. This area is full of Chinese- or Japanese-run Thai places that make the food wrong, add different ingredients and spice blends, and overall create dishes that are rather different from those you'd typically find in a real Thai restaurant. Dannee is a real Thai restaurant, and all my favorite dishes taste exactly like they should. I've ordered delivery twice in the last week! The food is flavorful and made to order, the ingredients are high quality, and it's surprisingly affordable. The owners are really nice people, and called me to ask how I was enjoying my food. The delivery guy was 7 minutes late the second time--I didn't complain about it, they just knew-- and they offered me free items in my next delivery. I won't be taking advantage of this, because I really like the restaurant and didn't think it was necessary, but the fact that it was even offered goes to show how much they care. These guys are really great, and I love supporting local businesses that both do a good job and care about their customers. I'll probably order again tonight. read more

Hearty and homey, very flavorful and safe Thai food. What I mean by 'safe' is that, yes the food is cheap but no, you won't get food poisoning! It's a really clean place serving up delicious hot food right in the middle of Dekalb. A really great value place. It's not 'safe' in the sense that they only serve typical Americanized Thai food. They do have more exciting choices such as Dancing Chicken, somtum (a range of delicious papaya salads), and seafood. I recommend anything on the menu! Though my personal preference is anything with ground chicken in it. It just tastes so flavorful and limey. And I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They recognize and befriend their customers and make you feel so welcome and part of the neighborhood. read more

We come here all the time, either to dine in or take out. First of all, EVERYONE who works there is so freaking nice. And they remember us (and our - well, my - order haha). Our fave things to get: - Pad See Ew - Drunken Noodles - Crab Rangoon - Panang Curry w/ Soft Tofu - Thai Iced Tea - Chicken Curry Puff Panang is my go-to at Thai restaurants but, to be honest, Dannee's Panang isn't consistent. It's different depending on who makes it in the back. It's never bad but sometimes it just doesn't taste like Panang. But since everything else is so awesome there, I really can forgive it. In any case, I'd recommend their noodles or rice dishes. They do those real good and it's always spot-on! Also, the Thai Iced Tea is enormous and made with fresh tea so I definitely recommend that! I know it seems weird but this place has the best Crab Rangoon I've ever had. So much so that my boyfriend and I are tempted to just one day order like 5 orders of it and chow down on an enormous pile of some Crab Rangoon as a meal haha. Not kidding. They deliver and do carry out orders through their website. But dining in is great too cus it's nice inside and they're super attentive. If you live in the area, this place will def become a go-to when you're not in a cooking mood! We definitely eat here at least once every two weeks. read more

What a way to pop my Thai cherry! I loved this place. The ambiance is mellow, and chill. It's a small restaurant with about 12 tables and a bar but no liquor license as far as I know. A friend and I arrived around 8pm for dinner. We tried the bacon shrimp, as well as the shrimp and chicken shumai for appetizers. Both were equally as amazing. For the entrees, I went with the beef pad Thai, and my friend ordered the fish in garlic sauce with mixed veggies. We also decided to share an order of shrimp friend rice. I was in love with the way all the flavors of the pad Thai came together. The bacon shrimp was a dish from up above!! We were so glad we visited this place. I ordered the food on seamless. I got the pad sew ewe, crab rangoon and thai tea. For delivery, you need to order more than $15. So the order came earlier than expected, by about 20 minutes. So its gets some stars for that. The pad sew ewe was AMAZING. Definitely would order from here again. Also got the thai tea which was awesome. Didn't even spill too much on transport. It was wrapped up nicely. However, one thing I would never order from here is the crab rangoon. It tasted good. However, $6 for 5, maybe 6 tiny pieces of crab rangoon is not worth it. Its just too expensive and not worth that kind of money. And, why are the crab rangoons so small? They were like cute baby sized. Also, why wasn't my sauce for the crab rangoons full? It was barely half full when I received it. No spillage in sight, just not even filled. I got a lot of lettuce with my crab rangoon, which I think is supposed to be aesthetically pleasing but I want more crab rangoon. Not tiny baby fried things with half the sauce and a bunch of lettuce. Overall, I would definitely order from here again. Probably only the main entree stuff though. read more

The first time I went was a weekend around 1:30. Although it said online and on the door that they were supposed to be open, the doors were locked and no one was inside. This made me not want to try their food but I decided to give them another try. A few weeks later I went back for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Their lunch special was decently priced and the food was very enjoyable as well. However I must say my favorite part is the Thai iced tea that comes with the lunch special, it is HUGE! I've never been to a Thai restaurant that includes a drink in their lunch special, especially one so big. read more

Super lovely addition to the neighborhood! Ate in recently, no liquor license yet but they were super friendly and encouraged us to grab beers from the bodega next door. BYOB score. Decor was inviting yet industrial- only thing I would change is have them dim the ceiling lights a bit more so the accent lighting could work it's romantic charm. Thai iced teas are strong and come in a delicate large glass that makes a pleasurable sound to stir. Tried fresh rolls and spring rolls, both excellent. Penang curry was 7.95 and was a huge bowl of the classic Penang beauty of veggies and spiced coconut flavors. The green beans had a satisfying fresh crunch when biting into them. Thai fried rice had a delicate smoky flavor that seems to be a theme in many dishes. Will be retuning again for the chill relaxing dining experience, and definitely placing delivery orders. read more

went here twice in a week now although i live in Williamsburg!! One of my most favorite thai spot in NYC, I hope it stays consistent because right now it's dirt cheap + awesome service + plenty & tasty food. Tried like 8 items and none of them fail so far! MUST GET: fried watercress salad w/ shrimps & calamari + lime juice. Whole red snapper with mango + avo is also insanely great deal. And really, we were fans of their mock duck - we tried it on everything, pad thai, pad kee mao and fried rice, everything was well executed! Also, their Thai Iced Tea is served on a jumbo glass - for like $2.50 it's very worth it although it's not exactly the best I've had. For this item it's more of quantity vs quality (BUT I'd still recommend this place!!) Next - gonna try their Kao Soy and Kao Mun Khai (chicken rice). Looking forward! read more

This place is predatory and inconsistent. I've ordered the salmon with basil sauce online from Dannee on Uber eats and Postmates in the past and was always charged no more than 16 dollars before tax. I recently ordered on grubhub and Dannee adjusted the price 30 dollars more than what I would normally pay. They didn't even call, I had to see on my bank statement that they charged me almost 3 times the normal amount. I'm very disappointed that they would do this especially during a pandemic. They'll never get my business again. They also overcook the rice which is honestly ridiculous especially if they're charging 45 dollars for salmon in basil sauce. read more

Love their basil fried rice. But more than anything, the grilled squid is divine. The sauce that comes with it is the closest thing that reminds me of the flavors I experienced in Thailand. It's so potent and intoxicating, I almost was knocked to my butt because I was taken back to my travels. And the grilled squid reminds me of walking through tight alleys at night and getting fresh grilled squid over charcoal from the kind old ladies who worked the stands. I wish they had whole grilled tilapia with lemongrass to really complete the experience haha. read more
