Very nice place great decorations, I loved Marzipan Cooky it was very soft and tasty. Coffee is ok. Cheese bread could be better.

This bakery is so cozy! I loved everything I ordered. Got the danish, cookie, and French waffle. Best French waffle I ever had! They have good amount of tables inside. Nice bakrey on the Solvang Mission Drive. The highlight are the show window props and the prop of the founder baker, at the entrance. The place seems to be always running busy. So be prepared to be in a long queue at any point of time. There is a huge variety of cookies and Danish. Breads loafs also are available. We were lured in by the fake baker dolls (dolls? Mannequins?) in the front because it was kind of cute. We ordered a hot dog, ham and cheese croissant, and the Aebleskiver. Hot dog: strong sesame seed flavor and soft bread. Nothing too special though. Ham and cheese crossant: Had lots of flavor. Very cheesy-reminded us of the cheese on nachos. Pros: location. super clean inside. Cons: The coffee was terrible. Really really bad. We ordered the same iced mocha and they're different, equally horrible. Watery and you can't feel the grounds. The quality of the butter cookie wasn't great. My sisters and I ordered to go so our stuff that we didn't finish would already be packaged to go and walk the rest of the street. This bakery has a seating area, that was completely empty. We asked if we could sit there and she said "well you said to go, atleast she did" and looked at me. We ordered a rum ball, little apricot cookie, and the recommended almond marzipan The cookie was my favorite so far today so fresh and soft way better than Mortenson's. Highly recommend getting these simple little cookies to bring home! The rum ball here was softer and fresher than Mortenson but didn't taste the rum. With each bite, I'm instantly transported back to my summer study abroad in Copenhagen. WILL NEVER GO BACK. I was told "MY BOSS DOESNT CARE" Here the employees seem to show preference to their hispanic customers (skipping the ones that don't speak Spanish) and are not hesitant to make the rudest comment that will ruin anyone's vacation. This is the picture of the the employee (with her back turned toward me) that made the most rude comments to me the President day weekend on 1/19/23, when after waiting for 10 minutes standing in front of the bakery counter I commented that many other customers were helped before me even though they are behind me in line (That was after waiting 20 minutes in line to get to the counter) Her come back was "You should have stayed in line" - even though a man waiting for his drinks blocked the way for customers after him to look at any of the pastries. (Why someone couldn't have him go to the end of the counter while his drinks were being made is beyond my understanding) When I mentioned to the lady in the picture that I patiently waited to be served - not to be spoken to rudely this employee retorted "Well my boss doesn't care either. You can go somewhere else". After such comment instead of even having someone else help me she went past me to help the next person in line - this time intentionally skipping me - showing complete disregard for the waiting patron. When I asked her for her name she went on pretending she didn't hear me and refused to give me her name and turning her back towards me to avoid me. I felt so discriminated by these hispanic workers that were happy to help someone that spoke to them in spanish. It had nothing to do with the busyness of the bakery - all the bakeries in Solvang have lines out the door and long wait is expected. In fact, I had gone to Olsens Bakery twice during my stay and the lines there are just as long if not longer. Still the servers at Olsens brought my drinks to me at the table along with my pastries. In my opinion if you have the audacity to make rude remarks to customers then be ready to own them. Not giving your name and turning your back to the customer is complete disregard who drive 4-5 hours to visit your town. My family and I visited Solvang and checked out this bakery before we left. We got a few different pastries and we asked for 4 kringle kages and was charged for the price of 4 when we only got 1 in our box. I'm not sure if the woman serving us had forgotten to put them in the box but she repeated my request of 4 kringles back to me. It was a shame because we did not realize it until we had gotten back home. The other pastries we got didn't exactly stand out to us either.
