I was in a bind - tenants moved out of my rental, not sure if I had the correct key, I lived 2 1/2 hours away, and in a few days I was to show the house - on a SUNDAY, when some would charge more!!! I called Daniel, who was understanding of the situation. He assured me that if I called him 1/2 hour before I reached the area, he would make sure to be available to meet me if my key did not fit. I was locked out of a house for a dog that I was taking care of. Daniel answered the phone on a Saturday and came out within 30 minutes. Originally it was supposed to be 20 but he was stuck in traffic and contacted me promptly to let me know. It took him 2 minutes to get me in. Daniel was great! Just moved into a new spot in Oakland and the deadbolt on the back-door got stuck and we couldn't open the door. It was 6 days ago that I arrived home from work, smile on my face, and a pep in my step. Upon approaching my door I reached for my keys, which I always keep in my right side pocket, but to my dismay, they were not there! "Why do you torture me, Spaghetti Monster in the Sky?," I cried, "What crime have I committed to deserve such cruel torture?!" At that moment, my neighbor opened his door and told me to keep it down, as his book club was in session. Perhaps it was my affinity for Biblical names, or my desire to legally change my middle name from Michael to "The," but one thing was certain, I had found my locksmith. Within a matter of minutes, Devin The Locksmith arrived at my apartment building, dismounted his motorcycle, and looked up at the sky with a stare that only comes from hours of lock picking, door jamming, and other locksmith related activities. I followed Devin downstairs to the Locksmith-cycle to view his wares, when I was blinded by 2 objects so bright, I thought the Spaghetti Monster in the Sky had come for revenge. No monster was present, but I was given two golden Schlages as my replacement knobs...to describe these locks as regal would be an understatement. Devin attached the two golden Schlages with ease, I paid with a credit card, and we said our goodbyes. I still wonder what exciting locksmithing conversations we could have had if his motorcycle had a sidecar, but I have plenty of chances everyday to lock myself out again.
