I was at this pretty far away restaurant (at least from my normal neighborhood) with a group a while ago as most of the people had never had pocha/포차 style food before. The lighting was dim as expected for a bar/gastropub and the woman serving us was friendly dealing with our group as best as she could. I presume the majority of people here are to drink and have anju but I was the only drinker of the night having a Terra which is a light lager. There was a large one and a smaller one and I had a large which worked with the food and I think it was around $10 or so. The first thing that arrived was the Sausage & Rice Cake Skewer in Sweet Spicy Sauce/So-tteok So-tteok/소떡소떡 which is $7 for 2 pieces. I've had this prior and it was good here. The rice cakes/tteok had a good texture with a bit of a crisp which was nice with the slightly sweet sausage. The sauce had a slight spiciness to them and paired nicely as always. The Fried Jokbal/족발/Pig Feet With Scallion Salad for $18 was very good. Said jokbal had a good mix of fat to meat with a good crunch on the outside and there were plenty of pieces to share. The scallion salad had I believe some gochujang on it or something similar. Favorite of the smaller plates was the Stir-fried Beef Belly/Chadolbagi/차돌박이 With Bean Sprouts for $22. The meat was very tender and flavorful with the sprouts cooked down well. There was also some raw vegetables on top covered with some dried chili seeds which added a nice spice and pop. I would recommend this also. The Rose Sauce Spicy Rice Cakes/Rosé Tteokbokki/로제 떡볶이 for $16 which is also available for $2 more with cheese was pretty tasty. It had a mildly creamy sauce, bacon & some pieces of Gimmari/김말이 fried seaweed rolls which was a nice touch. The rice cakes had a pretty good texture though I would have preferred it a bit spicier but I expected the slightly mild sauce due to the rosé variety. This was fine with a pretty good sized portion. The Kimchi Fried Rice/Kimchi-bokkeumbap/김치볶음밥 With Egg & Cheese In Sizzling Plate for $15 was a bit below average. The kimchi flavor wasn't nearly as strong as I would have liked with it being mostly eggy and I found that it was cooked better at some other spots. I have preferred versions much more at many other Korean spots even in Manhattan's KTown like Five Senses for instance among others. The Kimchi Pancake/Kimchijeon/김치전 for $13 was below average outside of the price point (at least compared to Manhattan Koreatown but that is probably different in Murray Hill.) The kimchi flavor like in the fried rice was a bit muted and it didn't have as much of a crisp I like at the ends. I wouldn't recommend it much. While I could not have it due to a severe cephalopod allergy, the rest of the people disliked the Spicy Stir-Fried Octopus/Nakji-Bokkeum/낙지볶음 for $22. I tried a bit of the sauce which was nice and spicy but apparently the octopus itself was very chewy (it did look overcooked.) Our final plate was from their specialties which was the Pork Baby Back Ribs in Sweet Spicy Sauce Served With Udon and Mozzarella/Maeun Dwaeji Galbijjim/돼지등갈비 철판 for $45. As per the price, the plate was massive with several large very tender pork ribs which had a nice mix of sweetness and spiciness though I do wish they were a little bit spicier though if I recall correctly, someone had asked him to tone it down a bit. This came with more gimmari as well and my favorite part was when the sauce and meat juices had cooked down and burnt slightly as it added a nice touch. If we didn't get the bokkeumbap before, I likely would have preferred the fried rice with the rest of this instead. This was a pretty good though inconsistent Korean meal. Oddly, the kimchi based dishes were the weakest thing here and stuff in general felt a bit lighter than most pocha I have been to. We have a couple tasty dishes and I might go back but it is more likely that if I go to this far off neighborhood again, I would go somewhere else instead.
The roasted pork belly is delicious. Bacon kimchi fried rice: not enough bacon. Kimchi a bit too sour. A nice place to hang out to grab a drink and snack on Korean food. Price is decent. Will come back again...
Great place to have some drinks and yummy food. The vibe is very bar like, but they were very kid friendly. The service was attentive. We ordered the stew pork, rosé pasta, kimchi bacon fried rice, kimchi pancakes, pork cutlet and fried oysters. My favorite was the fried oysters and stew pork. The pork cutlet was a good size, but lacked flavor.
The best late night Korean comfort food you could get in Flushing! The Okonomiyaki is ridiculously addicting and packed with seafood. Friendly and attentive service! Restaurant is lit with a cool blue/purple lighting creating a comforting late night experience especially when out with a group of friends!
this spot is now my favorite whether it's for a late night bite or a casual dinner. they opened pretty late and their menu has a great selection. you must try their ribs. it comes right off the bone and the sauce makes you crave for more. service was amazing and the interior is spacious!
Legit Korean bar food. Really liked the udon and pasta. So saucy. Liked the Jokbal salad - very refreshing dressing and huge portion. The beef stirred fried with veggie was also tasty. I think the kimchi fried rice could be better, as they used the very fishy type of kimchi. There wasn't any service, but it's understandable for the vibe of the place. Pretty chill place. Besides the dark ambiance, the music was not loud at all. Service was very good from our waitress. We were unfortunately too full when we came and just wanted a place to drink so we only had an order of the ramen with egg and an order of the dried fish with nuts. Both tasted just ok. The dried nuts that came with the dried fish tasted like those Planters choice nuts that were low quality. Overall, not a bad place. Just a lot chiller than expected when me and hubby wanted something a bit more exciting.
It's such a vibe in here with the neon light signs and TV screens constantly playing the MVs of hit kpop songs. Bf and I had this place bookmarked for a while. We ordered the pork belly with baby octopus udon and cheese. We requested mild spice. LOL our mouths were on FIRE still. We loved the kimari seaweed noodles. There was a decent amount of protein also. Wish they gave more udon noodles though. The cheese helped calm the spice. This dish can definitely serve 4 people. It was too much for just my bf & I. Overall would probably come back to try other things. Def a loud atmosphere so if you're sensitive to sound, this is not the place for you.
This place is probably the worst place I've ever been to on Northern Blvd in recent memory. We came in on a Saturday at 7:30PM and it was completely empty (for good reason as it turns out) Food was absolutely mediocre -- I ordered the rose tteokbokki which costs $16 with a $2 addition for cheese. The price is above average for tteobokki in the area which caps out at $15 including cheese. However, for the price you'd accept great taste! The rice cakes were rubbery and tasted like the pre packed ones. Our table also had an order of Bbudae Jjigae. Service was also not the best. Our table had a person who couldn't eat spice so we tripled confirmed for the soup to be mild. When it came it was spicier than we've ever had it and when we spoke to the staff they told us "that's how it comes" which is definitely not true. We asked if they could give us another one or something else and he took it away. 5 mins later he comes back with the same soup but clearly just with water added in. Not to mention we noticed the staff looking and whispering. Ambiance was okay. Typical pocha place. Nothing special enough for the increased cost and mid service. I recommend going to Pocha Pocha or Adam's chicken and Pocha for a better experience.
TLDR: Probably my goto Korean "pocha" spot. Drinks are reasonably priced, super clean for a gastropub and the food is on point. Definitely grab the loaded kimchi fried rice and the army stew is great. Spicy rose rice cakes are also solid. Dangol is a small shop on Northern right where Prince 2 used to be. It's super clean inside, good place to grab some tasty food and drinks with friends. I've tried a lot of the different dishes but definitely my favorites would be the kimchi fried rice with the egg/cheese ring. It's smoky, it's got the right amount of char, it's slightly spicy and the kind of dish you just want to shovel into your mouth. The spicy rose tteokbokki is also great. Creamy, a bit spicy and lots of flavor. The rice cakes are thinner, there's bacon, fish cake, it's probably one of the best iterations of this dish in Flushing. Simply put - if you're looking to knock back some beers/soju with tasty eats; Dangol is a great choice.
The ambiance is that of a nicer dive bar.. tables, neon signs, a bit dark and a bit dingy... the service was on point and efficient. The food was surprisingly good. I really liked the fried tofu, it came on a bed of lettuce and had a really delicious sauce on top... sesame and peanut sauce, not overwhelming, but perfectly balanced. The tofu was crispy on the outside without being greasy. I really enjoyed it. The kimchi pancake was fine... nothing amazing, nothing terrible...a decent staple. Same with the rice sticks. The sauce has a little kick. There were these absolutely delicious rice in broth wrapped in seaweed and deep fried ginger shaped things...i don't know how they were so most and deep fried... is order those alone! There were also sheets of something...I couldn't write identify it, the texture was reminiscent of very thick bean curd skin or flat fish balls... it also had a little scallion that added a bit of flavor..I don't know that the cheese added much, but then again I'm not a cheese fanatic..I love that they're actually open late... we went to 3 other places on the block that are listedd as open late, but were closed or closing..
Pleasantly surprised by the food here. I'm normally hesitant on pocha food, but everything I had was good! We ordered the rose tteokbokki, army stew, and kimchi fried rice. My favorites were the tteokbokki and fried rice. The Tteokbokki had a nice, unique flavor. Would definitely recommend as a chill plan to come drink and eat with friends, good vibes!
A great pocha-vibes spot to chill with friends! I came for dinner and drinks with my friends on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy inside. There's a good amount of seating and I think it's definitely under-recognized since there were so many open tables. Service was good and food came out fairly quick. Menu has a good amount of variety with some unique items as well. We ordered: - Butter Corn Plate: basically corn cheese. Very buttery, very cheesy, very yummy. - Bacon Kimchi Fried Rice: such a big portion!! Could've had a bit more bacon but there was lots of kimchi, a good amount of cheese, and we added a fried egg which is always a must. It was comfort food. - Boodae Jjigae (Army Stew): we got the small one but the big one comes to the table on a burner to be cooked at the table. This small one still had all the fixin's - ramen, spam, etc. Not too spicy and good flavor. - Fried Jokbal: loved this. It came on a hot plate so it kept it nice and hot. It was fried so it had a lovely crunchy exterior but the batter wasn't thick at all. I also loved how gelatinous it was. It came with a sauce that was a little sour but helped to cut the oils. - Roasted Pork Belly: also loved this. Their meat dishes are done really well and the quality of the meats were great too. It was also served on a hot plate and since it was thinly sliced pork belly, the meat also got a nice sear from the bottom. Also came with the same sauce and a refreshing scallion salad. I would come here again! Food was delicious and now I'm interested in trying more of other options from their menu.

I was a little skeptical of this place at first because of the low amount of reviews but the vibes be popping here! The servers here don't really speak English but service is super quick and attentive. They're always ready to take away your trash! They also close at 3am so this is the perfect place to come if you want late dinner. We ordered: Steamed egg ($5.99) Sausage and rice cake skewers ($5.99) Rose sauce spicy rice cakes ($12.99) Army stew ($16.99) We got this free corn snack but It was flavorless. I appreciate the thought though. The steamed egg is fluffy and light but comforting on a cold day. The sausage and rice cake skewers were a little overpriced for what it is since it was kind of small. But the rice cake was crispy and the sausage was tasty! This is my first time trying rose sauce spicy rice cakes and I liked it more than I thought! It tastes like spicy vodka sauce but much more creamier and sweeter. It was a nice change from the standard sauce and I am a fan of sweeter things! 10/10 would come back just for the this. It was also a decent portion size! The army stew was a disappointment. It was a small serving and where's the ramen??? There's only a few strings of ramen and that's it. Like hello??? It ain't army stew if there's no ramen! Give me the full packet please. It was mostly a random mixture of cabbage/kimchi and some ham (?) couldn't really identify what's it in. It was too mixed. It was also way too spicy for me so I couldn't even taste much. Overall, solid dinner! I liked that their menus offered so many appetizers since I like to try different things without over ordering. Great service and immaculate playlist. I've ordered Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice twice from Dangol. Each time it was super delicious filled with bacon, medium spice rice perfectly cooked. The egg yolk gooeyness adds richness to the dish perfectly. I definitely want to try other dishes, but I seem to be stuck on the Bacon Kimchi Fried Rice. read more
Nice environment for a date night or friend gathering to drink. Prices are reasonable and their food is yummy. I ordered their spicy pig feet, spicy rich cake and okonomiyaki !! All of them are delicious ! I love the okonomiyaki the most! Super crunchy and filled with ingredients. I will return for more! read more

An electric Korean restaurant with great food. The waiter and waitresses are mostly friendly. The music is loud yet enjoyable. At nights the crowd can get loud but it's a fun place to get dinner and drinks at. read more

Excellent food and great vibes! It's definitely popping here Friday night. We have a great meal. The baby octopus and pork belly with cheese is delicious but be careful, it's super spicy! The restaurant was very helpful and were able to provide us with some soup to help us de-spice, but even the soup was delicious. The food is fantastic for a modern hip place. The place carters to young adults with loud KTV, lots of drinking, and good looking but loud (fueled by alcohol) customers. But the ambiance remains pleasant, the decor is fresh, and again the food is a modern take of traditional Korean food, a wonderful combination of flavors and comfort food. read more

I've been here a couple times and really enjoy it. The food is always good and the service is excellent. I like that they added new drinks, like the wheat beer. They also have music playing all the time, so it's loud and fun. I would recommend going here for drinks with friends, or even to just eat the food! read more

Love the vibes here. Waiter was super attentive, and food comes out fast. The food is really really good! I feel like it's a hit or miss when you order delivery. I def recommend going in person for their food. They also have a photo booth, you have to pay for it (I think $5) but a great way to end your night by taking pictures with friends and making memories. read more

This place is a Korean pocha where you can get drinks. To be honest I didn't really have high expectations for the food going in BUT there was so many good food options here. If you ask for recommendations from your waitress or waiter they could also give you something that might surprise you. A lot of the food came out on a portable gas stove, super cool and keeps the food warm. This place is super chill to drink and eat and there's a lot of alcoholic beverage options as well as non alcoholic. One cool thing about the place is that it's filled with a-lot of neon lights on the wall and there's a photo booth machine. Give it a try and bring ur friends! read more

Such a great addition to the Flushing/Queens area! My friend and I enjoyed a delicious meal here. We ate the baby octopus and pork belly with cheese, fried dumplings, and the butter corn. The baby octopus and pork belly with cheese was 10/10! I liked how it wasn't overly spicy. The portion was also perfect. It comes on a grill pan/stove and the cheese starts to melt. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and packed with pork on the inside. The butter corn plate is a must to get as an appetizer. Everything paired well with each other. I thought with all the cheese I would feel greasy afterwards but I didn't at all! The server was also friendly and very attentive. He constantly checked on us and even gave us recommendations on what to order. They also have alcohol (beer, soju, etc). Can't wait to come back here again! read more

Been here a total of 3 times so far. I'd recommend the fried jokbal with scallion salad the most. Beef belly with bean sprouts was also good although a bit on the salty side. Creamy sauce fried shrimp tasted very similar to the honey walnut shrimp you get at cantonese restaurants except without the walnuts and the shrimp is cooked better here. The first time i came here I got the ribs with cheese and I would definitely get it again although a small change I would suggest is adding something to change up the texture. The 2 that were just okay but i wouldn't get again is the specialty beef soup and the mentaiko udon. Beef soup i think is just not my preference and the mentaiko udon was very heavy to me. read more

Some yummy Korean food! Every time I come, I always have to get the spicy rice cakes!! The fried seaweed rolls filled with glass noodles on top are so good as well, they pair so well with the sauce, I can eat a whole plate of them! The bacon kimchi fried rice was presented so well, I popped the egg yolk and spread it with the rice for a richer flavor. Service is great here, food came out really fast and everyone was so nice. A plus is they have a super cute photo booth with a bunch of props! read more
