My air went out called on Monday set up appointment for Tuesday afternoon , took an afternoon off from work without pay , they never showed up I think it is bunch of AI computers making calls , after five calls and text to them , nothing ! Non-responsive. They don't return phone calls. They have AI send texts as if they're responding, but they don't. Last year, we had the same problems. If I could give no stars, I would. I purchased a new home in HSB, moved in end of June - Dalton Air installed the Rheem HVAC. Well, when we had our first deep freeze during Christmas, when the unit goes into defrost mode, a horrid stench like a dirty sock with chemicals comes out of my air vents on the next cycle. It only does it after defrost mode. The builder has been silent, no response every time I file a warranty claim. I called Dalton no less than four times, all I got was voicemail each time and no callback - I'm being ghosted. Just save your time and money and look elsewhere for reliable HVAC. I have contacted Rheem to try to get Dalton to respond and actually inspect the system. read more

I have been using Lewis for years. He's maintained my HVAC system on both of the homes I've owned. His maintenance program is one heck of a deal for the peace of mind it offers. They will come do a spring and fall check to ensure your systems are not only surviving but thriving. If they notice anything during their inspections they provide you with a detailed report and photos so you can see everything with your own eyes. They offer incredibly reasonable prices for any repairs needed (even a quick filter change) and are always dependable. A few years ago, I made an appointment with Lewis Dalton and one of his coworkers came out the first time and diagnosed the issue incorrectly. Thankfully Lewis came out the next time and found that we needed a new damper. Since he didn't have them in stock, he would get one and call me back. As it wasn't urgent, a couple of years went by during Covid and he never bothered to call back at all. Finally I called again this year as it was becoming more urgent...some rooms were rising above 80 degrees. We received a very reasonable quote, but again there was no part on hand. Many weeks later and several unreturned calls, but they finally got the parts needed. Since we didn't know any other companies specializing in dampers, we swallowed our anger with their lack of response and waited patiently for the appointment. Finally the appointment came and one of the dampers was the wrong size, so he only replaced one and made an appointment to replace the second one the following month. Instead of making an effort to quickly correct the issue, the followup appointment went by without the courtesy of showing up, or even a return call/text! In summary, communication is horrendous with this company, but prices are reasonable. We won't waste any more time reaching out to them. read more

I was referred to Daltons air by someone. The good - 1. Quick turnaround time 2. Person was courteous, friendly 3. Even though he spent 1.5 hr on service but charged me service fee only for an hour. Bad - 1. I was horrified when he charged me 10 times the cost that the part is available in big box stores. Overall, I think he overcharged me a lot more that some other such service would have done. On August 8, 2013, Dalton's Air was called out through our American Home Shield Home Warranty to handle an issue when our central A/C unit stopped cooling. When Lewis Dalton (the owner) arrived, he was nice enough and proceeded to try and diagnose the problem. He found there were several leaks in the interior unit and that the filter (which was part of the interior unit) had to be bent in order to be installed. This caused air to bypass the filter altogether when the unit turned on and needed to be corrected. He explained that he would have to get an approval from our home warranty service before he could start the work. As we've had claims in the past with American Home Shield, we were very familiar with the process and went along with it. He said he did not have time that day to correct the leak issue but would take care of it when he came back out to install a new filter mount outside of the unit. We signed off on the work order and after he told us he would call us in a few days, he went on his way. A full week went by and we didn't hear anything back from Lewis or anyone else from Dalton's Air. We continued calling periodically over the course of several weeks in fact with no responses until we hit the one month mark. Finally, he answered our call when I called from a different telephone number and claimed he was "just about to call". Talk about a coincidence... He finally gave us an update and said he received approval from AHS and now would have to come back out to take measurements before he could order the parts. Why didn't he measure everything when he was out the first time? Anyway, we scheduled a time and date with him which he ended up being a no-call no-show for. In fact, he did this for the next appointment after that as well. Lewis had no excuse for it and didn't even apologize when we finally got him on the phone days later. For the 3rd appointment of the week, I asked that he please call me 30 minutes before arriving because I couldn't wait around all day as I had for the two previous appointments that he didn't bother to show up for. I wouldn't be home but could get there within 20-25 minutes. I figured 30 minutes would allow me a few extra minutes in case there was a delay of some sort. Instead, he called and said he was pulling into my neighborhood. I explained that I would head home immediately but that it would be at least 15 minutes before I could get there. He said ok. But then when I arrived, 12 minutes later, he had already left! What the hell? Why tell me ok if you're just going to up and leave??? What pissed me off even more was the fact that he no-showed on me for 2 other appointments which I waited for more than 5 hours each time, but he couldn't wait for 12 minutes? Seriously? The 4th appointment he did show up for... over 2 hours past the 1:00pm - 3:00pm time frame he gave us. Once again, without calling first to let us know what was going on. At this point, we figured just let him do it so we can finally be done with all of this. He came in, quickly measured and then left after telling us it would be just a couple of days. Funny, we should've known better since we'd heard that before. Needless to say, the "couple of days" came and went with no word from Dalton's Air. Repeated voice and text messages went unanswered until September 27, 2013 when he finally informed me through text message that the parts were in and he could install everything within 2 days. I said great, and to please let me know when he was available so I could schedule my week accordingly. I asked for 2 days notice so I could juggle my clients appointments. He didn't contact me again until October 2, 2013. In that text message he said he would be here on Friday October 4, 2013 between 1:00pm - 3:00pm to do the install. But of course, as is his M.O., he no-calls no-shows yet again. I finally had enough and left him a voice mail stating that we were done with his company and would find another service provider who would actually complete the job they've been paid to do. We will never use his company again and will let everyone know of the poor service he provides and that he seems to enjoy wasting his client's time. I strongly recommend you find someone, ANYONE other than Dalton's Air for your Air Conditioning or Heating needs. Hell, go take a course on how to repair it yourself. You'll be able to get your license to do it professionally long before Dalton's Air will complete your original service request anyway. read more

This company has no idea what they are doing. We had them out numerous times to fix our HVAC, They continually put a bandaid on the problem. If they would have been honest with the previous owners and told them that there was a freon leak in the system, (which they would then by law put on the seller's disclosure) it would have saved us several thousand dollars. I finally got them to admit after numerous times of freon that if you have to continually add freon, it must be getting out of the system through a leak. After being told by two other repairmen that our furnace needed to be replaced ($3000+), Lewis promptly told us that the pilot light was just mis-aligned and just charged us an $89 service fee. Oh, Texas in July without air conditioning - what a cruel, cruel place. Our A/C went out Sunday evening, and I put in a call to our home warranty company. They assigned a contractor to us, but they only had one star on Yelp. We called back, and were assigned to Dalton's. Manuel was great about calling to let me know when he would be at the house. On June 11, 2015, Dalton's Air was called out through our American Home Shield Home Warranty to handle an issue when our central A/C unit stopped cooling. I spoke with Mr. Dalton on the 11th and set up an appointment with him for the following day for the time slot of 12-3pm. (The time was confirmed 3 times) I left work early the next day so that I could be home by noon. I was told the day before that the technician would give me a call 30 min. prior to arrival. At 2:50, I hadn't heard anything so I called to get an update. I spoke to Mr. Dalton again and he told me that they had me down for the 3-5pm time slot. I told him that I was told several times the day before that it was from 12-3, but 3-5 is fine, as long as someone can look at the AC. So, 3-5 is now my new time slot. Fine. 4:50pm...I still hadn't heard anything or received any phone calls. I call again to find out what the ETA was going to be. No answer. I called 3 times and on the 3rd call, I left a voicemail asking someone to call me back so that I can know what's going on, possibly get and ETA. 2 min. later I get a text message from Mr. Dalton: "We will be there just chill out, you are not the only one without AC, we call u when we are on the way". I texted him back explaining that a heads up letting me know that they were running that late would have been nice. Nevermind that my initial appt. was for 12-3, now it's 3-5 and they still couldn't make it there on time. I never received a response to that, nor an update. Finally I call at 5:35pm to cancel the appointment. I had to leave a voicemail, as no one was answering the phone. I told him not to bother sending anyone out, as I have waited long enough and wasted too much time waiting around for them. All I wanted was an update of an ETA. I had been waiting around since noon and now at 5:30, still nothing. Never got a response to that message. At 6:35pm, I get a call from one of the technicians telling me that he was still in Austin and would be headed up to Kyle shortly and that he was giving me a courtesy call to let me know that he was running late. Are you kidding me? CLEARLY at 6:35 you are running late from 5pm!!! Obviously Mr. Dalton didn't let his tech know that his Kyle appt. had cancelled at 5:30pm...AN HR BEFORE!!! Ugh! The lack of customer service from this place just...well, it sucks. I finally called AHS Home Warranty to set up another appt, but this time, I specifically asked for another AC contractor besides Dalton's Air. I refuse to give them any of my money or anymore of my time. Mr. Dalton...a phone call goes a long way. And yes, I know I am not the only person whose AC isn't working, but what I didn't know was what was going on. A simple phone call (or text, since you seem to be so eloquent in that arena), perhaps to reschedule, would have been nice. Reported a call to my American Home Shield Warranty about issues with our AC unit. They said a company would be calling me within 24 hours to schedule an appointment. Next day I received a call from DALTON AIR who gave me a window frame from 3-6PM, WITH A 30 minute notice. GREAT No problem! 6:55pm came around and I received no call about them being late so I called American Home Shield who contacted Dalton Air - and the service guy with Dalton Air said I needed to be patient, he was still with his other client. REALLY!! any other professional company would at least have the courtesy and call their client that they were running late. SO- 8:05pm comes around and I get a call from the owner, wanting to resch another appointment, I told him how VERY upset I was, - and the owner just went off about being contractors and sometimes another job takes longer than others. I Agree, my husband is an owner himself, and maybe that's why he gets word of mouth referrals because of his professionalism. He always calls his client EVEN if he is running 5 to 10 minutes late. That's all I was asking, I had things to get done but had to wait around closely for that phone call from that time frame - (3-6pm) I mentioned I would contact American Home Shield to send another company over- the owner last words,(instead of apologizing) was OK,- Good Luck!!
