What is there not to like about Dalida? The vibe was great, the decor fab, the food incredible. Parking was easy too, which felt like a cherry on top. We asked the server what to get because everything looked so good. The bread service was fun to get and try, but with two people was on the more filling side. I forget the name of the appetizer we got. I think the pork skewers? They were good and gorgeously presented but personally, I think I'd prefer to try something else on the menu. But I'm glad I had it. The lamb though - and I'm not even a huge lamb fan - was phenomenal. It was lamb wrapped in ground lamb, so everything was juicy and delicious, and went so well with the hummus. I was worried that it wasnt enough food, my friend worried it was too much lol. It was the perfect amount haha. We also got a side of the rice and it was probably my favorite thing. It had such a crispy top and fantastic seasonings to the rest of the rice. Plus barberries which were fun. The only thing is I wish they had given us a reminder about the time before we actually had to leave. I was having such a great time with my friend that we lost track of time and before we knew it we had someone coming over and very politely telling us that the next table was already there. I mean I do appreciate how long they let us go for! But I would have liked a heads up before this, personally, because then we felt very rushed to leave since they were already there. They told us we could continue at the bar, but I had no idea where that was so we sorta just gathered up all our things and made our way to the bathroom haha. I've been wanting to try this restaurant ever since they opened but it was pretty hard to get a reservation. We finally got one for 5:30pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away! The restaurant itself and location in the Presidio was beautiful. There was plenty of space between tables, a couple of private rooms and a bar/lounge area for walk ins. We ended up not getting any drinks but the cocktails sounded delicious so we'll definitely be back to try those. For food we got two appetizers and two mains for three people and it was plenty of food! The pita bread came out nice and hot and fresh, and the octopus was very thinly sliced and very well sauced/seasoned! For the mains we tried the "pasta" and the steak. I personally enjoyed the steak much more. The "pasta" was very interesting but I didn't really like the consistency so it's probably not something I would order again. Overall it was a beautiful restaurant and the food was delicious! Side note: unfortunately the first time our main dishes came out they were room temperature at most (it seemed like they had been sitting there for a while cause it took a while before we got them). To be honest I did not know about this restaurant until I saw Top Chef, granted it has only been a year or so since it opened. Things in the Presidio tend to be tucked away behind historic or historic-abiding brick, I had no idea this spacious restaurant is there in front of the main lawn. Parking is free after 6pm, I imagine it would be harder to find parking during the day when Off the Grid is happening. Anyways we had counter seating and we had the chef menu. Every dish was carefully executed, for both eyes and belly. My favorite of the "snacks" was the mussel though all were delicious. Breaking bread was lovely, the pickled veggies tasted like the sea. The lamb skewer was super tender and had this amazing sauce with green oil. We definitely swiped the remaining sauce with our pita from the breaking bread dish. The lamb chop was perfect. Had local tastes of nasturtium fritter and fig leaf panna cotta with raspberries from their garden. Menu is super interesting with a generous amount of seafood items. We celebrated my wife's birthday here and it was fantastic! Our party of four ate family style (highly recommended to try a mixture of their amazing menu). Our favorites included the lamb chops, lamb pasta, bread with Mediterranean dips, short rib skewers, crispy rice, and artichoke salad. The desserts were also amazing as well. We had the rose infused Tres Leches cake, thin chocolate cake, and the most inventive baklava I have ever tasted. My coworkers recommended this place. I tried it out with my boyfriend for our anniversary. The restaurant located in a very nice location. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm, and we got to take some nice pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge at the park nearby. The waiter was friendly and helpful to walk through the menu. The cocktail menu was pretty pricey. We felt adventurous, and tried out this sesame horchata drink. However, it didn't fit my taste at all. There was some spice in it that overpowers the after taste. My recommendations are octopus dish and the bread. You can ask for a pita refill too. The bread is soft and handmade. All the sauces go well with the bread. The octopus dish was very interesting. I enjoyed a lot. I wished it is a bit less oily, and the dish comes with more crackers. We also got su borek (pasta) and 12-hour lamb shoulder dish. We went here for Valentine's Dinner (a day later), and it was worth the wait! The food tasted so fresh, like it was farm to table. There were great vegetarian options, including the chubby pita, Mocktails, anatolian erishte, beet salad, safte borek, and pistachio raspberry baklava. Our main waiter was rude, abrupt, and acted annoyed at us when we answered affirmative to a food allergy and again when we had a bug at our table and needed to change a water glass accordingly. Since it was our first time and there were only 2 of us, we opted for the chef's menu to get more variety even though the California tahdig was what made the restaurant catch my eye in the first place. Don't tell the Italian restaurants but the pasta might be one of my favorites in the city. I just love the bite the pasta gets from being made of bread flour. So what is it with these places that have a Chef's menu, and they can't tell you what you will be getting until they serve it. Always makes me a little suspicious that it's a way of managing inventory, and by the end of the night, they will be serving you what didn't get ordered á la carte to reduce waste...? I shouldn't start with a complaint, because after having no electricity for 4 days Dalida definitely lifted our spirits. Everyone on staff was friendly, well-trained and efficient. Our server promoted the Chef's menu, as she should, but added, if you see specific things that you prefer not to eat, you will more likely want to order individually. I would eat nearly everything on that menu, but my dining partner, not so much, so we went a la carte. Started with: Anatolian Martini: evoo washed four pillar olive leaf gin or evoo washed vodka, dry and blanc vermouth, house olive brine. $17 - 3* The special gin was a little too flowery for me, and I should have asked for it very dry, because too much vermouth for me. Pic anic Basket: vodka, gin, mezcal, or tequila, green apple, celery, tarragon, lemon, bubbles. $18 -4* T got this one with mezcal. I usually find anything with tarragon is overpowering, but this was very subtle and paired well with the mezcal. Wish I had ordered it. With dinner I had Domaine de Figueirasse 'gris de gris' rosé Grenache blend. Provence, France 2022 $14 -4.5* and T had Château Belá Riesling. Štúrovo, Slovakia 2019. $18 - 2.5 not a winner Zeytinyagli Enginar and Kereviz Aegean-style confit artichokes and celery-root, feta, orange-dill dressing. $16 - 4.5*. The artichokes were firm and not overcooked. Flavor was mild, but lovely herbaceous flavor. The addition of carrots, which were dreadfully soggy was a misstep. I would have given this a 5* with no carrots Dungeness Crab Stuffed Squid: Shrimp-crab-seaweed filling, kakavia Greek seafood broth. $38- 4*. This tasted delicious, but if you blindfolded me, I'm not sure I would detect the crab. The portion had about 4 very tiny squid, but the sauce over it and the mussels ( which weren't mentioned in the description) were kind of smoky. The seeded bagel-ish thing on top (can't remember its name) was somewhat sweet which was not a great match, but by itself for breakfast the next day with butter was a thumbs up Roasted Cauliflower harissa spices: $9- 5*. Perfect degree of doneness and level of seasoning. T who never eats cauliflower actually liked it. Cypriot Lamb chops: Encased in ground lamb and caul fat; hummus, lamb jus, chives. $35 - 4.5*. The ground lamb over the chops made them extremely juicy and added a depth of lamb flavor we love. Saffron Tahdig: Crispy Persian rice, barberries $14 - 5. The rice was presented socarrat side up. Each grain separate and tasty. I knew nothing about barberries. They taste kind of like currants, but with no sweetness. I would leave them off. Not bad, but just didn't add anything. We were too full for dessert. The Presidio is such a wonderful location for a restaurant, and we were sorry to see The Commissary move out some time ago. You can always find parking and it's a great place to bring out-of-towners. I will go back for sure! Front desk ladies were super rude and unapproachable. I politely asked if I could order take out since we did not have reservations and online yelp said we could call to order. The lady at the front desk said no. We looked like out of town-ers, but really a family just looking to order food to go outside and eat back at our hotel (Inn at the Presidio). We had a wonderful experience at Dalida! My husband and I went a few weeks ago on a Friday evening and we had an amazing time. We ordered the chef's menu, which is a pre fixe menu with SO many items. We started off with wine and cocktails--they have a great beverage program! I loved the Anatolian martini and hubs liked his burlotto pelaverga wine. Our favorites were the breaking bread and the Cypriot lamb chops. The chubby pita with the breaking bread app was unlike anything we'd ever seen--so fluffy and soft! We even ordered another, ha! The accompanied dips were also delicious, my favorite being the muhamarra. I was surprised I loved the Cypriot lamb chops because sometimes i'm wary of lamb, but these lamb chops weren't gamey at all and I loved the creative take on it, kind of like a lamb lollipop. The interior of Dalida is beautiful, I only wish we ate earlier so I got to enjoy it in the daylight! Service was amazing as well. Also on our way out, we caught a glimpse of the chef's counter. Beautiful decors at some corners, other corner like kitchen or warehouse, theme are pretty inconsistent, but you will find many cute corner for esthetic pictures Drinks were yummy and cute! Both mocktail cocktail were Instagrammable. Many dishes came in well presented, love the oysters!!! Love the not so nice looking bread, but very yummy! The Salad was pretty but taste was ok. Lamb was ok, little too salty but yummy. Rose Dessert was too sweet, but matcha dessert was soooo good! Their restroom started to play sound of birds as soon as you close the door, i think this is very cute and considered like Japanese restroom Service was nice while we were waiting for our table, but our waiter gotten little impatient or upset when we ordered a lot of small dishes, because we were just 2 girls. We came here for dinner before a comedy show for immigrant rights nearby and would journey here again for this restaurant alone. May I suggest a collective breath with assurance that you are doing beautiful things and that your efforts are and will be seen. If I had to narrow down all of the dishes we ordered (dips, apps, mains, drinks, desserts) the most stellar pairings were: Turbot & Raki Rice Pudding & Walnut Nocino The Walnut Nocino is what I would call a medicinal cordial. It had the consciousness shifting of one of my mother's concoctions; there was soul in the process. Evan, the bar director, explained to me the year-long steps which included cutting a hundred pounds of walnuts individually into quarters. He came over when he heard I wanted to order a Raki and asked if I wanted him to pick one for me. I pointed to two which stuck out to me, one of which he said he had to have his friend bring back in a suitcase. I went with that one, fermented with figs. It was clear, far clearer than anisette, somewhat similar to ouzo or grappa, but like absinthe, transformed from clear to milky. It was clean and dry and somewhat heart-opening. It paired with the grilled Turbot (a must order) perfectly to me. One made me want more of the other. The Turbot was incredibly tender. At first I thought it was slightly over-salted, and then, I simply enjoyed every moment. It was a rich yet delicate fish with delicious gelatin towards the bones. Loved sharing this with my loved one. I feel like this and Raki is like a family meal. The acoustics could be softer, and also, at our chef counter seats it was fascinating to see the staff our first time in. Chef Sayat visited our table with sincere eye-contact. I can feel when a restaurant is locked-in and awaiting something momentous like recognition and I believe they will get it. So happy you're here and I look forward to seeing you, again. read more

One of the best most memorable meals of 2024 -- and it's only April! My friends and I have been eyeing Dalida since we found out the chefs are competing on Top Chef. I was not disappointed! +Pita bread appetizer: 10000/10 I've never had pita so fluffy, chewy, and dense at the same time. We ordered 2 extra servings of pita. The pickled cabbage/olives were a nice touch as well. It was my fave thing! +Steak: I can't remember the name of the dish but this was another highlight. My wife and I are always searching for new and innovative dining experiences in the Bay Area and the more I read about Dalida, the more it seemed like the kinda place that fits all of our usual restaurant criteria without "busting the budget". Dalida opened in the Presidio in July 2023 and it fills the former establishment (Commissary) and given how hard it was to get a dinner reservation and from the appearance tonight of the bustling crowd at both their inviting bar and every possible seat in the streamlined and well lit main / front dining room - these folks are doing everything right and the neighborhood is lining up to eat inventive and thoughtfully prepared modern Turkish / middle eastern shared plates of yumminess ! We opted for the chefs choice menu and at $75/each it was a good selection. We started with an amuse bouche of cold stuffed mussels and a lovely candied cube of squash filled with creamy goat cheese ! I could have eaten a plate full of those veggie cubes of wonderfulness ! Next came their version of a mezze platter called "breaking bread" - with nicely prepared versions of thick and tasty smoked yoghurt, a terrific pepper spread as well as hummus and assorted olives and pickles - with a fluffy side of pita. Excellent pita ! We also got a nicely prepared grilled beet fatoosh dish and a lobster bisque with bulgar dumplings, followed by a lamb tartar (one of the big hits of the night). The bulgar dumplings were nicely chewy but a tad bit too dense. The lobster and lamb are not usual menu items highlighting the nice option of eating "off the menu" items via the chefs choice option ! The grilled lamb chops on a bed of hummus with a rich and tasty lamb au jus was another highlight dish. They take the lamb off the bone then roughly chop the lamb and reattach it to the bone so you get a giant "chop" that is quite nice and beautifully grilled. Dessert was a persimmon sorbet with coco nibs (yum) and a charred rice pudding with caramel sauce. Neither were too sweet and both "did the job" of ending the meal with a slightly sweet note ! We didn't order drinks tonight (FYI - corkage is $40/bottle) but the curated wine list is thoughtful and quite interesting with a broad price point ($60-400+) and highlighting many (and I mean many) old world regional wines not typically available in the Bay Area. Kudos to the house sommelier and owners for such an imaginative wine program ! We intend to return and try out some unusual "old world" bottlings. We walked out comfortably full and very satisfied and we will absolutely be back !! This may explain why getting a reservation wasn't easy ! The Bay Area has already discovered Dalida ! Dammit !! On Thursday I came here for lunch with a friend of mine. I didn't have the reservation, but we found a table outside (it was a beautiful day). The restaurant is located in Presidio, a very nice and quiet area. Menu is very interesting: you can choose something from la carte or the tasting option. We just chose 2 items: one pasta (Anatolian Erishte) and one plate from land (Arayes burger). I found both delicious, maybe the meat in the burger was a little bit salty, but in general I liked it. Also the pasta was very tasty (maybe not a huge plate for a pasta dish). I'd like to come back again to try another dishes for sure. read more

First and foremost, the stuffed pasta, New York strip, and the pita were 10/10s and require a 5-star rating. We were able to see the kitchen from where we were sitting and the cooks were operating like a well-oiled machine. Regarding service, the waiter understood the assignment. We started with apps then seafood, then pasta and steak, and finally, dessert. It was beautifully timed and we never had to wait too long before getting our next meal. Regarding aesthetic, it is in the presidio and the vibe is fitting for the exquisite experience, Dalida serves up. Ever since they've opened, dinner reservations have been hard to come by, but turns out the move is to come during brunch. You can still get most of their most famous items at brunch (octopus and sujuk, breaking bread), and the space during the daytime is gorgeous - airy and light-filled, with a nice view of the Presidio lawn. We got: Octopus and sujuk - Really good, I liked the flavor combo of the super thinly sliced octopus with the pork and brininess of the olive-caper dressing. Seafood platter - This was fine, but can be skipped. The bottarga is a bit too briny for me, and didn't really like the flavors of the mussels escabeche (still a bit too fishy tasting for me). Hamachi crudo and oysters were good (but you can get good oysters easily in SF). California Tahdig - Glad to have tried it, but would skip this if I came back. It's really hard to split this dish, and there's so much going on it feel like you only get a tiny bit of it at once. It felt like the ingredients were a bit lost, and though I like uni, I didn't super care for the combo of rice + uni here. Breaking bread - The fluffy pita here is so good. Reminds me of the style of pita they have at Oren's, but just better (softer, less dry, fluffier). The dips that come with it are solid too, I loved the creaminess of the muhammara and hummus. Tepsi Kebabi - Fine but again not something I would get again (not a big fan of this flavor combo). Layered Baklava - This deconstructed version of baklava really surprised me (in a good way!). I loved that it was light and not too sweet. Don't miss this. Chocolate Muhallebi - Was underwhelmed by this since I was hoping for the more delicate, jiggly texture I usually associate with muhallebi, but instead this version just tasted like a chocolate mousse/pudding. Overall - great vibes and if you stick to the couple things they're most known for (octopus and sujuk, breaking bread, would also add layered baklava to that list), you'll have a great time. read more

Located in the Presidio, Dalida has THE BEST pita bread ever! Trust me, you'll want to order an extra to enjoy with the hummus that comes with the dish "breaking bread". Dalida expertly cooks their lamb, I highly recommend ordering the lamb shoulder. Another dish that I also enjoyed was the octopus, which is plated artfully. One dish that didn't meet my expectations was the chicken. I was hard to cut and wasn't cooked throughly. Our waitress was super gracious and took the chicken back and had the kitchen fire up a new one, which was also just meh. Give this place a try, I'd just not order the chicken. Parking is fairly easy and there's outdoor dining for those rare non freezing cold SF days. read more

Came here for a pre-proposal lunch on June 11 of this year and have nothing but great things to say about the staff, the food, and the ambience. I left them a note on OpenTable about the day and they definitely delivered on a special experience. They went above and beyond in all areas of service and the food was delicious. Came for a private party that started on the patio with sparkling wine and yummy hors d'oeuvres. My favorites included a butternut squash bite with goat cheese inside and blini with cream and trout roe. We then moved inside and had their breaking bread which was very tasty and I was very excited they had muhammara as that is a treat for me. The hummus and yogurt dip were very good too. Pita perfectly fluffy. Had a version of a Mediterranean samosa and the outside was perfectly crunchy and the inside had a very savory ground meat. I did feel mine was a little undercooked but very good. Our main server was Nayeli and she was amazing! She kept my glass of sparkling wine always full and attentive to all the guests!
