Disappointed. Thinking that we can do a little to support the local restaurant every weds...due to covid -19 what happen to my portion? did you ran out of food? ...let's not even start with the hamburger steak... the salad, corn, spicy macaroni...not even 1 spoon full.... I'm willing to pay, but, please keep the portion as usual.....

2.5 Stars There is a small shared free parking lot around the corner from the restaurant. There is also pay street parking on Kingsway. First impressions, it's not that big of a restaurant and quite narrow. We walked in for dinner around 730pm and the right side of the restaurant was packed. A few customers were waiting for take out and orders thru skip the dishes were getting pumped out. The whole left side of the restaurant was empty, but every table had dishes left on them from the last seating. We walked in and weren't acknowledged for a couple minutes. They were very busy serving tables and taking orders. You could tell they were under staffed. We were asked how many of us and still had to wait for a table to be cleared for us. Ordered: Original Dae-Ji Pork Cutlet - really crispy, tender, and juicy pork. Very tasty gravy, went really well together. Curry Chicken Cutlet on Rice with Miso Soup - flavourful curry, but lacked chicken. There was maybe 5 little pieces of chicken in the curry. Spicy Sweet and Sour Chicken (bone in) - really good flavour, not too spicy, big portion (whole chicken I believe). The fried potato slices, pickled radish, and shredded cabbage go well with the chicken, as the sauce will be too over powering by itself. Service was the downfall of this dining experience. When we were seated, we were surrounded by dirty dishes from all the neighbouring tables. It took almost 40mins before we received our first dishes. A couple that sat down after us, and ordered after us got their food well before us and they ordered fried chicken as well. If my wife hadn't asked for them to check on our order, I don't know how much longer we would be waiting. I'm sure they make the chicken to order, but this seemed excessive. The food really saved the rating. Overall Experience: Service - 4/10 Cleanliness - 2/10 Food - 7/10 Value - 6.5/10 Parking - 6.8/10

Cheese Hamburger Steak

Dae-Ji is a popular Vancouver-based Korean cutlet house that specializes in deep-fried cutlets of various meats as well as hamburger steaks (similar to Hamburg steaks). The location on North Road in Burnaby is on the second floor of a busy mini mall just south of Lougheed Hwy. The interior here is fairly spacious and it wasn't very busy during my weekday lunch hour sojourn. The decor here is more basic than high-end with plastic cups and water jugs at the table. I wound up ordering their Cheese Hamburger Steak ($13.99) which comes with 2 hefty portions of hamburger steak topped with cheese and accompanied with rice, macaroni salad, corn, crunchy cabbage, pickled radish, and gravy. The thick hamburger steaks were quite filling but a bit on the dry side in the middle (nothing that a dose of gravy couldn't fix). I did like the cheesy pull on top of the hamburger but I would have preferred if the cheese was on the inside of the hamburger instead of on top. On a subsequent visit about 3 months later, I noticed that the restaurant was much busier during the weekday lunch hour. The thing that I like about this restaurant is that you can mix-and-match your order and I wound up ordering their Combo A ($15.99) with a Mushroom Hamburger Steak and a Shrimp and Cheese Pork Cutlet with chili sauce. This meal also comes with their regular assortment of sides such as macaroni salad, corn, crunchy cabbage topped with a Thousand Island type of dressing, pickled radish, and rice. The thing about Dae-Ji is they stick to what they know and what they know best is how to make deep-fried cutlets and hamburger steaks. The Mushroom Hamburger Steak is thick and juicy (almost in the shape of a large meatball) but tender. Meanwhile, their cutlet is perfectly fried with a nice crispness on the outside and then covered with melted cheese. If the chili sauce wasn't spicy enough for you, they top off the pork cutlet with jalapeño slices which gives you a serious kick. I guess Combo A is my go-to pick here... I like having the ability to pick and choose different things. Here's their Pineapple Hamburger Steak and Pizza Pork Cutlet as well as the Pineapple Hamburger Steak and Curry Chicken Cutlet. The food usually comes out fairly quickly but they do slow down a bit when it gets super busy here.

The pork chop is good here. I have to say my eye is bigger my stomach. The portion looks small but its actually quite big. I had a hard time finishing it. As a hint don't eat most of the rice they give you. I failed because of that. I went here at night and the place is not exordinary busy. Its good that they open till midnight. I highly recommend the place. As well they only serve pork chop and patty burger.

This restaurant offers pretty decent priced meals. They're supposedly known for the cutlets but I didn't really enjoy mine as they were hard and dry. I thought the hamburger steaks tasted much better. What I really liked was the kimchi fried rice. For $10.99, you get a pretty good portion of fried rice, salad, and miso soup. You can also add a side to it. We added the curry pork cutlet for 4.99(?).

Came here because the Taiwanese noodle house next door only took cash, which I didn't have. Turned out to be a good thing, because I loved it here! I've never been to a cutlet house before and was skeptical to try this place out. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Everything on the menu basically sounded the same to me, but I was pleasantly surprised: *Spicy Cheese Pork Cutlet (5/5) - I asked the waitress for her recommendation and ended up getting this. Doesn't sound good, I know. But damn, I was happy I listened to her because it was so good. A deep fried pork cutlet smothered in cheese and gravy. YUM. *Curry Chicken Cutlet (5/5) - Basically a fried chicken with curry on top of it. I would compare it more to the Japanese yellow curry, but it was really good with a nice amount of spice to it. *Kimchi Fried Rice (5/5) - I literally could've just ordered this and been happy with it. It was a little on the greasy side, but it had so much spice and flavor. So delicious. Huge portions. Miso soup and a small salad served with every meal. Friendly and attentive service. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area!

I was greeted and seated as soon as I entered. This place is small about 15 tables and it was about 1/2 full with patrons. The waitress offered a jug of cold water and I took a good look at the menu. They have a good selections of different type of cutlets and flavours. They also have other specialty dishes such as cold serve pork hocks and boneless fried chicken. I have quickly decided on kimchi pork fried rice with a side of curry cutlet in about 5 minutes. I've waited for the waitress to come back and take my order, she passed me twice to serve other table and about 15mins passes by I've grown impatient and had to flag another waitress down. My food arrived in 15mins. The quality of the food is good; the chicken cutlet breading is crispy and just the right thickness, the meat is soft and juicy. The kimchi fried rice is spicy and good portion with an egg on top. The rice is slightly on the wet side, i prefer it drier. It also came with a bowl of yummy miso soup. All in all, I think the food is delicious and the price is cheap. I recommend anyone who enjoy cutlets to try it out, I will come back for different style cutlet in the near future. They also have 6 different locations all across Metro Vancouver and offer take out delivery for your convenience through "skip the dishes" as their courier.

Cheese Hamburger Steak

This restaurant serves really good food, with good taste. I've ordered hamburger steak, cheese hamburger steak, pineapple hamburger steak several times. But for the past 2 weeks+, they made most of the Cutlets as well as Combo "SOLD OUT" for the Uber Eats, and SkipTheDishes, (including my past orders) and didn't show any reason to why they did that. Apart when I went into the restaurant 4 days ago to eat, they still serves my recent orders which I was waiting to eat. Anyways I've phoned and told them face to face as well to fix it, although they just ignored it. Wow!!

One star because the got my delivery order completely wrong. I ordered the Spicy Sweet and Sour Chicken via Skip the Dishes , which is the one that comes with bone in but instead got the boneless one instead. I was looking for something similar to Bon Chon. Tried calling the restaurant but got cut off twice. Very disappointing, considering it was my first time trying the place.

I first tried Daeji Pork Cutlet House at their downtown location about three years ago. Since then, prices have gone up a bit, portions have gotten a wee bit smaller, but the food is still good and filling. I ordered the pork cutlet with gravy sauce, salad, corn, and rice. It was delicious but I would have preferred having a little less gravy on the pork. The pork cutlet itself was nice and crispy and not greasy. After we had ordered, we were given a large bottle of water and two cups. I liked that we were given water without having to ask. However, once we got our food, we were pretty much ignored. After trying and failing to get a server's attention to get our bill, we ended up going to the front to pay. Maybe this is the way it's done here? I really like the food here, but the service could use a little work.

Very good value This is my second time at this little restaurant. The quality of the food has been consistent. Portions are quite generous and if you are a fan of cutlets, this is the place for you. For under $10, you get 2 pieces of cutlets of your choice, rice, salad, and random side (i got corn, but I think this changes based on the season). If you live in the area you must try it!

Big portions of good food for a solid price. We have enjoyed the pork, hamburger, and fish when we have come here. The macaroni is also very tasty too. It can get busy so expect to wait during peak meal times.

Been here twice now and discovered it on a whim. First time had the spicy cheese cutlet & kimchi fried rice which was really good! Would definitely recommend getting one order of the cutlet (two pieces) and the kimchi fried rice. Recently ordered just the kimchi pork cutlet and was good as well. Can't go wrong as the cutlets are fried and they're super crispy. Also provide a good portion of rice, small mac salad, and a small bunch of refreshing shredded cabbage with dressing. Definitely recommended! Not sure what their hours are (i'll snap a pic next time) but they did close at 11:30pm when I went on a Tuesday night. Lots of parking in the shared plaza as well. Service was pretty regular. The server wasn't very attentive and had to call him over whenever we needed something. Overall food is pretty good and I'd return.

Service was pretty quick when I visited, wasn't too busy with about three other tables of diners. Food-wise: their prices and portions are quite reasonable but I have yet to discover my favorite menu item or their best dishes as taste for bulgogi was just okay. Overall, their weekday lunch special is good value. Though their food on my first visit wasn't especially memorable, their spacious interior + modern ambience + efficient service + good value and free parking brings them up from 3.5 stars to a 4 stars rating since this is a place I would definitely consider visiting again to try other dishes. And I am hopeful about finding items to my liking because they offer a fairly diverse food and drinks menu.

It's simply decorated with Soju bottles or posters of Korean pop stars or actors. Love the casual and laid back vibe! There is a bell on the table if you need attention from the servers, and they are usually pretty efficient and fast when it is rung. We saw that there was a $9.99 combo deal and everyone at our table was shocked. We all ordered that. The combo comes with your choice of a noodle dish (Jajangmyeon or Black Bean noodles, Korean udon, or Spicy Cold noodles) and a Beef Bulgogi on the side. I ordered the Jajangmyeon with the Beef Bulgogi and it was great! I enjoyed the nice chew from the noodles and the Black Bean sauce was flavoured well. I was pleased to find chunks of pork in the noodles also. The Beef Bulgogi was a little watery, but tasted sweet and tender. All that food for $9.99. That's unheard of in this economy and in these times! Amazing. We'll definitely return as we saw other great deals on the menu also!

I dont really like jambong, so I'm super glad 88 noodle house lets you choose 2 jjajangmyeon! Perfect combo. For the meat dish, you can get tangsuyuk or gganpunggi. We chose the gganpunggi (sweet chili chicken). Jjajangmyeon was ok. Nothing too special about it. Good portions. The gganpunggi was also a good portion! However, I found that it was mostly batter, and since they use a mix of tapioca starch and other as breading, it gets jello-y when not completely cooked. The flavor was really good, but I was disappointed with the batter to chicken ratio. I will continue my search for this type of combo!

Same goes for the sweet and sour pork. I love their coating and the flavour is great, but sometimes I just get a coated piece of fat which is a bit off-putting. We also like the japchae, but find it has a bit too much onion for us. Ok cold nights we like to get the 88 noodle soup. Hot, peppery, slightly spicy. Goes well with the pickles they give you. Service is always quick and polite. No issues there. And the seating is spacious with lots of booth seating.
