kimchi pork tofu, rice cake skewers, fish cake soup, half & half order of fried chicken, and fried gizzards
    Tony J.

Small Korean restaurant in a small plaza on Kingsway near Boundary Rd. Mostly known for their Korean fried chicken but have some other items as well. Mostly filled on a holiday, but not completely full. There are some interesting Star Wars and anime memorabilia on display if you look carefully. Got their boneless fried chicken, half original and half with the sweet sauce. Fried chicken was very tasty. Chicken was juicy, and shell/skin was on the lighter side, so you can eat a lot of pieces. Also got their fried gizzards which were delicious as well when they are piping hot. Got the nice juiciness and crunchiness from the gizzard. The garlic butter fries was also delicious, and so were the rice cake skewers. We also had their fish cake soup, and kimchi pork tofu, and those were decent. The soup was quite peppery, and the kimchi pork is a little spicy. Managed to finish everything except the kimchi pork tofu between the 3 of us. Prices seem reasonable... 20-30 for the larger dishes, in the teens for the smaller ones.

My rec team had everything line up well for a late night team bonding outing. Our games ended extra early, and we had a break in our schedule for the next little bit. To celebrate how well things had gone, we agreed on grabbing some good old Korean fried chicken together. We ended up at Todak Todak off of a recommendation. It's not the biggest place in the world but there was enough space for our group of 8 to sit comfortably, as well as allowing for other tables still. We ordered a lot of chicken as well as the army stew. The stew showed up first. It was a delicious warming soup for us with plenty of assorted food in it. It had a nice but not heavy kick overall. We devoured it fairly quickly given how cold the night was. Our parade of fried chicken was next. We ordered a ton of chicken. The Matchoking and Snow White boneless chickens were definitely the standouts that we ran through quickly. The dishes were all very nicely fried and the flavours were unique and delicious. Overall, we definitely got what we were looking for in terms of finding tasty fried chicken. I think all of us were quite happy with what we were served up. I, personally, am definitely keeping this place on my radar for more future Korean fried chicken cravings that need to be fulfilled.

Got delivery for a nice cozy night in. Was craving KFC and this definitely hit the spot. Service/delivery was also quick, so food was still warm and crispy once we got it.

Pretty new place in town, previously this place was occupied by a Chinese restaurant, now its a Korean gig. Nothing big changes from inside, same layout but different dishes. Opens at 12 noon today and amazingly we came 10 minutes earlier and there was a long line up already,Not so big place but we managed to get in as first batch of guests. Upon entry i noticed right away from the counter by the cashier that they are selling hand sanitizer...i even jokingly asked them"oh were these guys Korean sanitizer?" everyone laughed. This place serves different kind of fried chicken plus there were still traditional Korean dishes in the menu. Plus sign they are following the covid protocol, contact tracing and even checked our temperatures....kudos guys....good job. fro our appez we had the spicy rice cake skewer....good one.The next was the traditional Korean pan cake....nothing special with this i had better pan cakes in other place that serves the same. Complimentary salad came with our order, cabbage salad and radish cubes...i love the dressing kinda sweet, kinda creamy, it was good. The highlight of our visit were the fried chicken.... we ordered the Korean style, crispy and tender, the sweet chilli one ,well more spicy is best for me, and the best and catches my attention was the snow white cheese fried chicken.....awesome, my taste buds just fell in love with this dish....a must try when you guys visited this place. I highly recommend this one to all who enjoys different kind of fried chicken. Service was excellent, friendly, orders came on time, fresh hot and delish. Interior design is bare...just black which i found to be cool and chic. Noise level is average, good for kids and group. Pricing?its not cheap in here but it looks like it that every penny is worth. Another pride Of Korean cuisine in lower mainland Parking is free and shared by other businesses in that block, but theres always enough because there is also underground parking provided. Accept cash and cards. Another place that i will surely visit again and again and again.

Tucked in the back corner of a small restaurant complex along Kingsway, this Korean fried chicken shop unfortunately did not live up to the hyped feedback I've been hearing about. My party was seated at 6pm with a table left empty in between each dine-in group, the space was consistently half full...until the dinner 'rush hour' hit. Although plexiglass barriers were in place, the dining area was packed. Our group was at a slight discomfort as tables left & right were filling up quick. Further to the dense seating situation, the fried chicken was a slight disappointment. I had very high expectations for the honey butter chicken, thinking it'll be very similar, taste-wise, to Honey Butter Chips. The crunchiness of the chicken was nice, but the flavours were rather weak, it tasted much more like Chinese honey-garlic pork than honey butter chicken. The sweet chilli fried chicken was a lot juicer & flavourful than the honey butter order. I thought the tang + sauciness worked very well with the complimentary pickled daikon cubes. The fan favorite of the night was the spicy cheese rice cake. Unlikely most places, the rice cake here was not over cooked, it wasn't too mushy & had a very nice tender chew to it. My low spice tolerant friend found this dish's level of spicy perfect & enjoyable.

Went here for a quick dinner and was not disappointed. The chicken was fresh and flavourful, the rice cakes were tasty and just the right amount of chewy. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of vegetables on the menu, it seems like it was fried food or bust. Definitely will be returning!

There are Korean restaurants popping up everywhere specializing in fried chicken, but I have to say Todak Todak is easily my favourite so far. It has a decent variety menu with other items like soups, rice cakes, fried chicken skin, rice and noodles. Their fried chicken menu is decent, and has many boneless options (hurray for lazy eating!) and uses all dark meat. One of my biggest issues with boneless fried chicken is when they use breast meat as it's usually dried out from frying and inherently less juicy. The chicken at Todak is expertly fried - light crispy exterior, and juicy succulent meat inside. All the flavours are good, but I have to say my favourites are the yangnam (Korean style, or half Korean and half original) which is a thick sweet, savoury, and a little spicy traditional fermented bean style sauce. Their original chicken is obviously crispier as there's no sauce, but I always fine original Korean fried chicken lacks seasoning so I prefer the saucy versions. The Padak is always a safe option, with a sweet and tangy soy based sauce eaten with thinly sliced scallions. A couple unique flavours on the menu are the Snow White Cheese Chicken, and Onion Creamy Chicken. The former was something unique we had to give a try, however it's not really cheesey fried chicken, it's more a cheese powder (like the kind put on popcorn) which doesn't really taste cheese just a little salty and sweet like honey. It was a bizarre combination and texture, and tasted better as you kept eating, but not something I'd order again. The onion creamy chicken was a good surprise though, it came with a thick creamy sweet sauce covering slices of raw white onion over the chicken. I don't like raw onions as they give you onion breath all day... but these onions were blanched and were not too strong tasting. Oddly the sweet creamy sauce, was cut by the onions, and the crispy fried chicken and was a great combination. Todak is also licensed and serves beer, cause what pairs better with fried chicken? Prices are pretty standard compared to other Korean restaurants and still expensive for how much you get ($25 per dish), but at least they do fried chicken right here!

Yay! Korean fried chicken in East Van! Ordered the half & half chicken and the fish cake soup (currently mislabeled as rice cake soup on the menu) with fried chicken skin as a side dish. Service was very friendly and prompt. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavourful ... one of the better Korean fried chicken I've had so far in the Vancouver area. I appreciated that there wasn't a large amount of excess batter on each piece since I'm not a fan of overly battered fried chicken. You can enhance the original flavour with a sprinkle of salt & pepper. The chicken skin side dish is an uncommon menu item for many Korean restaurants, and the portion was much larger than expected. They were fried perfectly. There was a good variety of fish cake in the soup. The broth was spicy with lots of daikon and white pepper flavour. Overall a great dining experience and will definitely be back.

I used to come here all the time when it used to be Cattle Cafe. You'll notice the decor is exactly the same. Their menu is pretty simple, I expected this to be mainly a place to get drinks with the option of ordering small snacks on the side. We ordered a pitcher of the pale ale which came with chilled glasses, and some fries to start. If you're familiar with Costco fries, they are pretty similar! Aka delicious! We ordered the boneless fried chicken to share, with the hot sauce on the side. It turns out that most of my group didn't care for the sauce so it's good that the whole batch wasn't smothered with it! Instead, I asked for some sriracha mayo which was rather tasty. We also tried the cheese katsu which came with a strange sweet gravy -- wasn't much of a fan for this dish. Since this place is in my neighborhood I do see myself coming back here with my friends or family based on convenience. But if you ask me, the food is just A-OK.

We came here to order their boneless fried chicken for takeout. We got a half order of their original and a full order of their honey buttered garlic. Both were oh so delicious and crispy, and I cannot wait to try more! If you are doing takeout, I recommend ordering online as we had tried calling multiple times and no one answered. They did however give us complimentary pop due to the wait.

Great spot for Korean fried chicken! Got the half and half boneless fried chicken (loved the sweet chilli, wasn't too spicy) but the star was honey butter garlic boneless fried chicken! It's so good. The butter garlic fries are also amazing. Definitely recommend!

Great little chicken and beer spot at for those late night cravings--they're open until midnight everyday except Fridays and Saturdays, when they're open until 1 AM. The honey butter fried chicken is their bestseller, and we can see why. Its sweet and salty flavour is addicting. The batter is on the thicker side. They provided some pickled radish and a side of cabbage slaw for sides. Kinda missed the usual sides we'd get at a Korean restaurant though. We also ordered the spicy rice cakes with cheese. The sauce was spicy without being overbearing and was the perfect consistency for us! The torched cheese on top added great depth and elevated the entire dish. My only complaint was that the cabbage in the dish wasn't cooked under tender. The cheese snow looked really good too, so we'd probably try that next. Portions are on the smaller side, so it's a little more expensive.

The best Korean Fried Chicken I have ever tried so far. I came here twice already and it never gave me disappointments because all of my orders are amazingly delicious!!! Especially the "snow white cheese fried chicken" and "spicy rice cake"... The Snow White cheese fried chicken was overloaded with white cheese (obviously), and it is worth trying for and is highly suggested! I wish I get the chance to asked the server what cheese they have used... The spicy rice cake, moreover, has surprised my taste buds... I'm not a fan of Korean rice cakes but this is a must try... My boyfriend suggested this and I did not regret having it. Furthermore, I'm still in "awe" of how big the servings are! Well... it's a little pricy but again, the foods are great! I can honestly finish a plate of fried chicken as I love friend chicken a lot! Lol. The location is at Kingsway, surrounded with various restaurants as well. It is just a small Korean restaurant and when you go in, the friendly staff will approach customers right away following COVID protocols. One thing I don't like about this restaurant is the space.. I remember my Bf and I were seated already in the tight corner with all of these glass barricades around us. Going in and out of this corner was amusing.. As even the server had a hard time to move the barrier just to put our orders on the table. Washroom is clean. The environment was lively with Korean music as a background while waiting for the orders. I will definitely come back here in Todak-todak to try more. Maybe next time, with my family.
