Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. I went for the sogogi dolsot bibimbap. It was served quickly and came with a large variety of banchan. I loved the bottle of spicy red sauce and probably added way too much, but it was so tasty. The rice crisped up on the dolsot at the bottom and provided a nice texture. The kimchi banchan was delicious so was the fish cake banchan. I recently saw a few foodies post about this spot so I assume they're going to get pretty busy soon. I will try and get a group of friends next time so we can try more things. You also get a yakult at the end of your meal. Easy parking in the lot, or pay parking on Anson. Come check it out!

You have to order from 1, 2 and 3 to complete the set. They tell you the base cost in 1 and you can pick sides to add to the pan for free or for cost in step 2, 3. Except.. step 3 only has items priced at $5. I asked if I can just omit it and they said no, it is mandatory to pick one. Why don't they just add $5 to the base cost and then make step 3 free. Adding a price make it seems like I can choose to add it or not. So now the budaejjigae is $41 instead of $36 with sides I didn't really need. Quite pricey for a very simple ingredient dish. Soup base was very flavorful but not a lot of ingredients was in it for that price point. One thing I didn't like was the buying of positive reviews. They offer you free soda/pop for positive reviews only. Parking is limited but we did find a spot on a weekend lunch.

Unfortunately most Korean restaurants in Vancouver do not have purple rice. -Cold Noodle (14.99$, but they have a lunch special where, for 16.99$, you get two potato pancakes): At first I was hesitant to order this because I love buckwheat (dark gray/purplish colour) cold noodles, and these weren't those, but am so happy we did. I love the texture. The flavour of the broth was also excellent. My only qualm was the "cucumber garnishes" that, in my opinion, were actually too-sweet pickles. Other than that, highly recommend. Potato pancakes were also very yummy. They served complimentary barley tea, and had yummy banchans (kimchi radish, fish cake, and soy sauce pickled onions).
