Rafal and his team did a fantastic job on refinishing our deck, and making some repairs. As another reviewer has said, he is a craftsman, attention to detail was noted at every turn. This matters, and we appreciated that about him. He also went the extra mile to give us what we wanted. We wanted marbau wood to be consistent with the flooring in the interior of the house, and despite being a challenge, he found it for us. The deck looks gorgeous. We are so pleased with their work that we will be hiring them again to work on a smaller deck and outdoor shower. We felt his pricing was fair, despite having nothing to compare it to. Da Vinci Floors was an excellent choice for our hardwood floors. The floors, originally installed 16 years ago, had water damage near the oceanside doors. We thought they'd have to replace the boards but after refinishing they look new again. The work was high quality, the dust was limited due to the care in which they wrapped things and the equipment they used. The professionalism and quality were excellent. Da Vinci was more expensive than a few others but it was definitely worth it. read more

Poor quality putty repairs. They did NOT use a dustless refinishing machine and left my air conditioning on while sanding. All of my air conditioning units filled with wood dust. Cost over $2000 to professionally clean and repair air conditioning. See photo of the ac filters. I cant say enough about Rafael and the work he did with our floors. We bought a house from the 40s that still had the original hardwood floors but had been covered in carpet, abused, stained, damaged, and even some tile over it( see before photo). I was given an honest assessment and was told that everything might not come out and that there would be some boards that needed to be replaced, but ultimately it would look pretty good. I was given a fair price and was not disappointed. Our floors were absolutely beautiful and we loved them for the 4 years we were in the home until we moved. ( see after photos) 4 years later. Refinished our floors and advised us we could could put back everything on the floor after 2-3 days. We waited 4 days just to make sure. Within a month the finish came off onto our rugs and left a difference in color. Also asked for satin but ended up with Matte finish. Additionally they left many areas with gaping seams. We were new to the Island and were very lucky to find Rafal. First off, he did an excellent and thorough job on the quote. We could tell from the first time we met him, which was at a showing of the home, that he meant business. We didn't get any other quotes, but I felt like he was giving us a fair price and he gave us several options to keep the cost down. The best part of working with Rafal's team was the installation. They are consummate craftsmen. While people comment on how "good" people's floors look, that usually doesn't reflect on the installer. However, in our case people often comment about the detail/precision on the stairs that lesser installers mask with trim. If I didn't know better, I would think that the floors went right under the drywall. Every cut was perfect. Rafal was also very flexible. After getting the materials delivered, we decided to do some additional areas of our house. Rafal accommodated our request and adjusted his schedule to make our move in deadline. Also, to show what a perfectionist he is, he was very concerned because we had to substitute different T molding that we got on island for the additional space. It is nearly indistinguishable, but he wanted to make sure it was the best it could be and fretted over it significantly. That's how personally he takes each job. Lastly, I would also recommend working with his supplier Leilani from Complete Custom Flooring. Rafal set us up with her and she was great. Rafal did an amazing job on my floors in Belvedere five years ago and now I have tenants in that house who want to refinish the master bedroom, which we didn't do then because we had carpet in the master bedroom and that's where we stored all the furniture when he did the rest of the upstairs. I emailed Rafal and he got right back to me, but unfortunately (for me) he is now in Hawaii! The floors he did, which were almost beyond help (hadn't been done since 1970 - a lot of sun damage from 16' tall wall of glass at the apex of 22' width), came out so beautifully and STILL look so good that I got complements from the crew that we had to hire here in Marin - who also did a nice job, but they were considerably more than Da Vinci. I was stunned that I didn't need to have them do anything to the floors Rafal had done in 2007! We just had Da Vinci Floors do one room for us and we are very pleased. Their price was fair and Rafal and Mario did a great quality job. They took out the carpet and refinished the wood flooring underneath. The whole project took about 11 days due to waiting for each of the 3 coats to completely dry and cure before helping us by moving the bigger pieces of furniture back.
