Poor quality putty repairs. They did NOT use a dustless refinishing machine and left my air conditioning on while sanding. All of my air conditioning units filled with wood dust. Cost over $2000 to professionally clean and repair air conditioning. See photo of the ac filters. Over a year later still find wood dust in crevices while the poorly done putty repairs are falling out. Notice that all the reviews are old. Maybe he used to be good but no longer true. read more

Da Vinci Floors - AC filters packed with wood dust. Dustless sanding--no way. - Flooring Near Me

Da Vinci Floors was an excellent choice for our hardwood floors. The floors, originally installed 16 years ago, had water damage near the oceanside doors. We thought they'd have to replace the boards but after refinishing they look new again. The work was high quality, the dust was limited due to the care in which they wrapped things and the equipment they used. The professionalism and quality were excellent. Da Vinci was more expensive than a few others but it was definitely worth it. read more

Rafal and his team did a fantastic job on refinishing our deck, and making some repairs. As another reviewer has said, he is a craftsman, attention to detail was noted at every turn. This matters, and we appreciated that about him. He also went the extra mile to give us what we wanted. We wanted marbau wood to be consistent with the flooring in the interior of the house, and despite being a challenge, he found it for us. The deck looks gorgeous. We are so pleased with their work that we will be hiring them again to work on a smaller deck and outdoor shower. We felt his pricing was fair, despite having nothing to compare it to. Truthfully Rafal was the only flooring person on Yelp to actually return my email inquiry and quickly follow-up with an on-site estimate. I guess no one else needed the business. I'm thankful for that. Thanks Rafal & Junior! read more

I cant say enough about Rafael and the work he did with our floors. We bought a house from the 40s that still had the original hardwood floors but had been covered in carpet, abused, stained, damaged, and even some tile over it( see before photo). I was given an honest assessment and was told that everything might not come out and that there would be some boards that needed to be replaced, but ultimately it would look pretty good. I was given a fair price and was not disappointed. Our floors were absolutely beautiful and we loved them for the 4 years we were in the home until we moved. ( see after photos) 4 years later. I highly recommend davinci. For me it was a classic under sell and over deliver experience. Going above and beyond Rafael even took time out of his schedule to talk me through some significant issues I was having with another local hardwood flooring company recently. Once a customer always a friend! read more

We had our floors resurfaced in a condo we just bought. I was very nervous about how it would turn out because there was some major sun damage. It turned out AMAZING!!!!! Wow. I am so impressed. Amazing service and amazing work. read more

Refinished our floors and advised us we could could put back everything on the floor after 2-3 days. We waited 4 days just to make sure. Within a month the finish came off onto our rugs and left a difference in color. Also asked for satin but ended up with Matte finish. Additionally they left many areas with gaping seams. He promised he would come back to fix it and that was over a year ago. DON'T GO WITH THIS Guy! read more

I highly recommend Da Vinci Floors/Rafal Maleszyk for wood flooring restoration, new installation, or related services. We bought a home this past fall - it had great flooring material but it was damaged and far more textured than we wanted. Rafal and his very talented partner Junior did a spectacular job of restoring the floor. I can't imagine it ever looked better and its a treat to walk on it barefoot. Rafal worked around our other contractors, stayed on the schedule he had promised, and even worked in a few other additional wood-finishing jobs we discovered as the project went along. Give him a call! read more

Rafal Re finished our main floor which was faded and cracked from the sun. They did a fantastic job! He responded promptly to my questions and finished the job on time as promised. His pricing was comparable to other quotes. I love our new floors hopefully you can see the quality of work through the before and after pics. Thanks Da Vinci! read more

Rafael and his crew are awesome the job came out beautiful we couldn't be happier especially for 50+ year old floors. Originally we were just going to do the living room but he suggested we take it a step further and do the hallway too since you could see it. That was a good suggestion one we probably would have regretted if we didn't do it. If you're thinking of refinishing your floors we highly recommend you give him a call. read more

Rafal is a true craftsman. He did a very professional job on refinishing some engineered hardwood floors. In my opinion I think he made the floors look better than the original. He arrived on time and the job was completed sooner than expected. It is nice to be able to hire someone and just have them do such good work without any supervision. Rafal re-arranged his schedule to accommodate my timeline which was MUCH appreciated. I highly recommend him! read more

Rafael of Da Vinci Floors is very professional and serious about his craft. We had carpet in 3 bedrooms with a knowledge of a beautiful wooden floor underneath. Rafael & his team torn the carpet & all that comes with carpeting up and finished the floor with excellence. With the sanding that needed to be done, he covered all areas with plastic so the clean up after him so VERY small. read more

Rafal and his guys are awesome! I got my kitchen and bathrooms redone and the flooring by these guys was the best part. Fast, professional, attention to detail, and beautiful. I highly recommend you go with these guys after doing my research, they proved to me the reviews are accurate. I will post some pictures to prove the amazing job. read more

I have an older 3/2 home in Kailua that had a very old, ugly parquet flooring. Rafael proposed a bid that was feasible for my family's budget. His work and integrity is second to none! We are very pleased with the work that was performed and I could not praise his attention to detail that he demonstrated during the job. It is without hesitation that I would recommend Rafael and his crew to anyone looking to beautify their investment. read more

We were new to the Island and were very lucky to find Rafal. First off, he did an excellent and thorough job on the quote. We could tell from the first time we met him, which was at a showing of the home, that he meant business. We didn't get any other quotes, but I felt like he was giving us a fair price and he gave us several options to keep the cost down. The best part of working with Rafal's team was the installation. They are consummate craftsmen. While people comment on how "good" people's floors look, that usually doesn't reflect on the installer. However, in our case people often comment about the detail/precision on the stairs that lesser installers mask with trim. If I didn't know better, I would think that the floors went right under the drywall. Every cut was perfect. Rafal was also very flexible. After getting the materials delivered, we decided to do some additional areas of our house. Rafal accommodated our request and adjusted his schedule to make our move in deadline. Also, to show what a perfectionist he is, he was very concerned because we had to substitute different T molding that we got on island for the additional space. It is nearly indistinguishable, but he wanted to make sure it was the best it could be and fretted over it significantly. That's how personally he takes each job. Lastly, I would also recommend working with his supplier Leilani from Complete Custom Flooring. Rafal set us up with her and she was great. Spent LOTS of time with us as we weighed the options and was always helpful. Don't hesitate. read more

Rafal is courteous, dependable & prompt. He re-accommodated us several times due to construction delays & does very good work. He showed up on time for the assessment and provided 2 re-finish options within 24 hours. We chose the less expensive option, $2K to re-coat instead of $7K to re-finish old wood floors in 2 older apartment units, one with mahogany and one with oak floors. He & an assistant did a fantastic job & left the jobsite very clean. I also recommend him without reservation, read more

Rafal did an amazing job on my floors in Belvedere five years ago and now I have tenants in that house who want to refinish the master bedroom, which we didn't do then because we had carpet in the master bedroom and that's where we stored all the furniture when he did the rest of the upstairs. I emailed Rafal and he got right back to me, but unfortunately (for me) he is now in Hawaii! The floors he did, which were almost beyond help (hadn't been done since 1970 - a lot of sun damage from 16' tall wall of glass at the apex of 22' width), came out so beautifully and STILL look so good that I got complements from the crew that we had to hire here in Marin - who also did a nice job, but they were considerably more than Da Vinci. I was stunned that I didn't need to have them do anything to the floors Rafal had done in 2007! This is doubly amazing because the tenants that just left were very hard on the house with 2 little kids and a big dog. Whatever Rafal did to preserve and protect really worked! read more

Da Vinci floors just did my floor and it looks fantastic i would highly recommend them for floor refinishing work.

Rafael was easy to work with, very professional, fast and reasonably priced!I would call on him for flooring work anytime!

Rafal is professional, responsive, organized, and flexible. His crew showed up on time, performed quality work, and made sure all details were handled before finishing the job. I needed a trustworthy contractor to do the work without my oversight while I was out of state, and Rafal exceeded my expectations. I recommend him without reservation. read more

Rafael did a fantastic job refinishing the 70-year-old fir floors in our Kailua home. He also laid new wood in our office that blended seamlessly with the old. The entire process was smooth and pain-free. His bid was very reasonable, the work was done in exactly the time frame estimated and every day the house was left clean. Rafael had a few reservations about our floor which he explained clearly so we would have realistic expectations of the outcome. In actuality, the floors looked even better than we had hoped for. We will absolutely use Da Vinci Floors again when we lay wood on our staircase and master bedroom. read more

We had our floors refinished and were very pleased with the outcome, it exceeded our expectations (excellent job). Rafal was very responsive, easy to work with and very efficient. He was able to come out the next day after contacting him for a quote and scheduled the job with efficiency. Flooring was done fast and with great quality. Price is reasonable. Davinci flooring is professional and follows through with the promise they make. Rafal gives you the personal customer attention that you won't find at other companies. I definitely recommend people to davinci floors. read more

We just had Da Vinci Floors do one room for us and we are very pleased. Their price was fair and Rafal and Mario did a great quality job. They took out the carpet and refinished the wood flooring underneath. The whole project took about 11 days due to waiting for each of the 3 coats to completely dry and cure before helping us by moving the bigger pieces of furniture back. They even helped us put felt on the bottoms of the furniture which we appreciated a lot. We will definitely use Da Vinci Floors again when we're ready to do the next room. read more

If I could give a 6-star rating, I would! Rafal and Kalani made magic of my floors. I wanted the oak flooring in my 65 yr old living and dining rooms and hallway that had been carpeted for 50 years, refinished. Rafal called me back in a day, and then came out to see the house. He suggested that I consider also refinishing the Douglas fir flooring in the adjacent extension and bedrooms. My plan was to just lay laminate flooring or carpet since I didn't think the wood would be very nice. He sanded a "sample area" (the entire room!) so that I could see what the wood looked like. In the end, I had the wood floors in the entire house refinished and result is beautiful. Prior tenants left pet urine stains which couldn't be sanded out. Rafal replaced the boards in those areas and you cannot tell where it is. They worked extremely hard 7 days a week and kept the house tidy at the end of every day. After the floors were done, I asked if they would install 1/4 rounds around all the baseboards since the edges of some of the floor had some damage and they added that to the scope for a very fair price and it was done within 2 days. When the job was done, they wiped down the surfaces and there was almost no evidence of all the sanding that took place over the prior two weeks. I have nothing but high praise for DaVinci Floors. read more

We had some original oak flooring (living room, dining room and front entry) which needed to be refinished. Upon the recommendations found in Yelp, I called and left messages for several flooring companies. Rafal of Da Vinci floors responded quickly and came to the house the next day to look and give me an estimate. I had another firm also come and look. I called several of Da Vinci's references and they were all pleased with their work. I couldn't do the job right away but Rafal and I worked out a start date. The work was started right on schedule, it was done well and the floors look brand new. I would definitely recommend Rafal and Da Vinci Flooring. Thanks, Rafal and Kalani. read more

We are so happy with our hardwood floor that was just recently sanded and stained by Rafal and his crew. He was so easy to work with - we got a quote the same day that we called initially and then they were able to start the job a couple of days later. Our floors looked so much better after the refinishing, really great and we were so pleased that we had them come back to do our bedrooms that were under construction. Rafal even worked over the Christmas holiday which helped us greatly because we were able to move in sooner. They were fast, professional and affordable and we would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

We asked Rafal and his crew to refinish original ohia wood flooring which was underneath the carpet in our classic Manoa home. Da Vinci Floors is all about competitive pricing and quality workmanship! Rafal's experience and knowledge about floors gave us the added comfort we needed to make our decision in his favor. Once he got started, he gave daily progress reports and kept to the projected schedule. He and his helper Mario were very neat and clean throughout the job. This was unexpected having worked with floor contractors before who left the house extremely dusty. Rafal and Mario delivered our floor makeover as promised and on-time. Our seventy year old floors are stunning to say the least thanks to their passion and excellent workmanship. We couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. Working with Rafal was a good experience. We highly recommend him! read more

Owner Rafal Maleszyk was a pleasure to hire and to work with during our recent installation of new hardwood flooring (carbonized bamboo). He is very knowledgeable, experienced, professional, dependable, and personable. His concern for a superb finished floor impressed us in all ways. His employees, also experienced and knowledgeable were prompt, courteous, dedicated, and concerned for quality craftsmanship. While the project took about double the time Rafal predicted it was because he added a step (sealing the concrete base with a moisture barrier to reduce the chance of cupping) that more than doubled the estimated time table. The fact that the work was of excellent craftsmanship served to help us forget the original schedule. His primary assistant, Mario, was such a delightful and trusting person with whom to leave in charge of the home while we needed to be away (and to trust with a key). Good men, both! You can't go wrong employing Da Vinci Floors. read more
