I found this cozy place located in a small retail center with ample parking. As I pulled up, I noticed the line coming out of the door. Nevertheless it moved at a timely manner. We were in town on business, and I was craving a donut on our first morning in Atascadero. The hotel desk clerk told us to come here as it was very close and good. There were a few people in line, but the line moved fast, no issues. We ordered a half dozed donuts (2 each for the 3 of us), I noticed they had Cronuts!! Wow, I was excited because I have never tasted one before! So I got the chocolate covered cronut, along with a chocolate old fashioned. The old fashioned was nice, similar to so many old fashioned donuts I've had through the years. The cronut, (being my first one, and I don't have a frame of reference I can compare it to)...was soooooooooo awesome! Imagine a croissant that has been crispy fried then dipped in chocolate! It crumbled and was messy to eat, but the taste was worth the trouble! Very delicious! I wish I had a cronut right now....(insert Homer Simpson noises here). We also got hot coffee, but sadly this left a lot of be desired. No half & half only milk or yucky Coffeemate creamer. It did not taste good, as I don't like drinking chemicals. Next time, I would stick to the donuts and get my coffee elsewhere. read more

The doughnuts and croissants are good, but I feel their prices are kind of expensive. I went in there the other day and got two ham and cheese croissants, and it cost $11.00. Considering their croissants are 90% bread and 10% meat/cheese, I find that a bit exorbitant. What I also didn't get is when I went in there two weeks ago and got four doughnuts and two ham and cheese croissants, that was also around $11.00 So, I'm not sure why they're charging the same amount for just two items when I got 6 items the previous time. When I commented to the woman at the register, she just gave me a blank expression. Probably won't be going back there again. Just too pricey!!! read more

We came here while we were waiting for our vehicle to be worked on. We got coffee and 2 donuts each. I got their maple bar and chocolate cake donuts, both were good. BF got their cinnamon crumble twist bar and creme filled donut with chocolate on top. He thought the twist bar was good but did not like the filled donut. Too much creme and the creme itself wasn't very tasty. Overall, we will probably not be back as we feel another place is alittle better. read more

I've never had better donuts. The apple fritters should win a medal for the world's best. Recently I went to get an apple fritter too late in the afternoon, so they were sold out-- but they had blueberry, which I didn't mind trying. Now I don't know which I love more! They always throw in a little something extra, like donut holes. Such nice people, and the quality is superb. read more

Continues to be the best donut shop in town. Hometown feel with locals sitting at the tables drinking coffee, enjoying donuts and shooting the breeze. Good variety despite being incredibly busy no matter when you go in. The owners are super nice, and will often throw in a freebie here or there if you have a kiddo with you. Donuts taste fresh, are flavorful, and are nice to look at. They are a cash or check only establishment, so keep that in mind when coming on in. I have not yet tried a breakfast croissant, but those looked huge and yummy, so I may have to forgo a donut the next time I'm in to give one of those a shot! read more

We've been wanting to come here since we moved to Atascadero! The working hours never worked, since they close at 1pm. We were lucky enough that last week they were open at 6pm. They only accept cash... No credit cards, no debit cards either! Donuts prices range from 1 dollar to 3 dollars. Its cheap, and they are delicious! The cinnamon roll is very good and huge! The lady, which I think is the owner, gave me a free donut with my order. :) The place is very small, with no air conditioning, nor wifi. If you want a place to work on stuff this is NOT the place. Get your donuts and go to another coffee place. They do offer other menu items, I think breakfast, and coffee. Don't know if I would go for it .. But I will be coming back for more donuts!! read more

Ok, it's 10 in the morning and Ellie is home not feeling well craving a Old Fashion Buttermilk donut. I drove by DKs Donuts as its easy to spot and park. There was a line at 10 in the morning. amazing. The donuts from 4 cases had been consolidated into 1. Looks like they still have s pretty good selection with only 1 Old Fashion left. That's ok, all I need. The line moves quickly, I was greater by a pleasant woman and the remaining Old Fashion is now mine I'd recommend this spot, clean store, courteous staff, easy access and good donuts read more

I had an early morning errand to run on the weekend, so I came here at 5am to grab a quick sweet bite. I was lucky to have a whole selection to choose from. We were eating at Don Pedros outside when we noticed the donut shop was open around 5 pm on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago we ate then went and bought a few donuts not knowing what we might get. These donuts are very fresh and delicious. They very much compare to Krispy Kreme if you like their donuts. The place was clean the lady who helped my husband was very kind. Our only complaint is we don't know when to go back we keep calling Pedros and they says their hours are whenever they are there. We live 30 miles away so we can't just drive there hoping they are open. These are some of the best donuts we have ever eaten. 10 stars if we could give it. ********** read more

Solid donut shop. Really a 1.5 star. The doughnuts were nicely risen but the coffee was yucky. First of all if u want a "flavored" coffee it comes out of those powder mix machines you'd find at a 7-11. Definitely gross. The ham and cheese and bacon and egg croissants are greasy as hell, you'd be better off hitting up a burger king. They don't make sense as to why they'd be in a log style form. You can taste the hydrogenated oil as you take your first bite. Maybe I'm just a croissant snob but if you want 800 calories and heart disease for breakfast, hit them up. The place is also filthy and it's really awkward because they seem to have "regulars" that are all men who sit in the middle talking real loud and obnoxious. This is an unassuming looking little bakery in a strip mall, but their donuts are really excellent. I'm kind of an Apple Fritter nut, and their's is the best I've had outside of Buttercream Bakery in the Napa Valley. Their Buttermilk bars are also bar-none on the Central Coast. Doughy on the inside, but with a delicately crunchy crust...very moist and well-made. Their old-fashioneds, glazed and un-glazed, are also great. If you like old-school donuts that are well made, moist and no frills with a lot of weird flavors, this is the place to go to. We just moved here and are constantly checking out bakeries everywhere we go, and this is the best donut shop I've been to since I was a kid and visited Buttercream in Napa the first time. Just terrific. Also, they don't accept credit cards, so only cash or local check, which is a little inconvenient but worth it for the quality. Only drawback in their coffee is just standard Farmer's Brand and kind of weak. read more
