Gluten free selection 8/14/2025

Love seeing SLODOCO have so much success and open yet another location, this time in Paso! Per usual, there were tons of amazing donut flavors; all fresh. All the girls working were friendly. This is definitely one of their smaller locations, but there was still seating available inside along with a couple tables outside. In addition to donuts (including a spread of gluten free flavors), they also offer a variety of coffee, matcha, chai, thai tea, hot cocoa, etc. As a former SLOCAL, I was definitely happy to stop in this morning while enjoying a short visit in Paso.

Donuts are good and big, really pretty too. But, unfortunally beign that big can cause that sometimes the dough won't be cooked in the middle. That was the case with this purchase. I was exited to try them again, but they were raw.

Wow! I am very surprised about how good this place is their donuts are top tier and have so many options to choose from. Everyone who works here is super sweet and patient and I loved how the store was decorated for Halloween. There are little games on the tables you can play which is super fun! I will definitely be coming back here 10/10.

Your kids can color these boxes!!! Cool fun activity for the kiddos!!!

SLODOCO in Paso Robles is a donut lover's paradise! This place is an absolute sugar rush on steroids, serving up epic, creative donuts that'll blow your mind and your waist line- but who cares about waist lines when the maple donuts literally wink at you from behind the case. The selection is massive--think everything from classic glazed to wildly creative flavors that make every bite an adventure. Their maple bars? NEXT LEVEL, hands-down the best I've ever had. Even their "basic" donuts are far from the ordinary booooorinnng versions with a perfect balance of fluffy, sweet, and downright delicious. SLODOCO PASO ROBLES is the ultimate spot for large groups or anyone nursing a wine country hangover. These donuts are the perfect magical cure for your drunk ass. Grab dozen (or two) and watch your crew light up and praise you for the sugar rush about to ensue. They sell out fast, because these donuts are kinda like legal crack, so get there early to snag your favorites. Don't be whiner and get your hungover ass up and get in line! The place is fun, the staff is awesome, and the donuts are the perfect cure for your hangover. Whether you're a local, wedding wine party or just passing through Paso Robles, SLODOCO is a must-visit to scratch that donut itch! SPENCE and COCO

Parking a little tricky the first time you go, but my grandson loves the donuts! He got the maple bacon bar. Yum!

These were some delicious donuts. Definitely a higher class of donuts compared to other donut shops. Very friendly service too!

The only slightly awkward part at first was figuring out when we were supposed to come in because we were told not to enter more than 10 minutes before the session, so it felt a little unclear whether we should wait outside or come in. Not a huge deal, just a slightly awkward first impression. The employee who explained the locks and how things worked was excellent -- super friendly, upbeat, and helpful. Then we were brought into the room by another employee who stayed in character while explaining the story, which really added to the experience. I went in without huge expectations and had never done an escape room before, but it completely surprised me in the best way. The room was smaller than I expected, but the experience itself was incredibly creative and immersive. There were so many unexpected moments and surprises throughout the game that made it genuinely exciting and memorable. We didn't even finish our room, and I already want to come back and try again, plus try some of the other rooms too. Afterward, we got cookies and desserts, and they were fantastic. The cheesecake cookie with frosting, the macaron, and the white chocolate macadamia cookie with sea salted caramel were all really good. My kids loved them too. The only reason I'm mentioning this last part is because the rest of the experience was so good that it stood out: the interaction when we were leaving felt a little abrupt and uncomfortable. It seemed like the employee helping the next group may have been stressed or rushed, but the tone came across a bit curt and made us feel like we needed to leave immediately rather than relax and enjoy the shop afterward. A warmer, more welcoming checkout experience would really elevate the overall experience from great to exceptional. Overall though, we had a really fun time and would absolutely come back.

We booked online without any issues. This is our third time…read morevisiting this business. Each time we visited we played a different room. There was always just 3 of us in a group. I will say it helps when you have people in your team that balance out, having different methods of problem solving or different in height, even ages. Though none of the rooms require anyone to be too tall. A few of the clues are set very low or require you to bend down low in dark spaces. We haven't tried any of the food here-- but it looks like they have drinks and sweet treats and even a few tables to sit at with games if you like. All around great family fun! Insiders tip: if you've been before, it's recommended you try the room(s) again not only for a better score but some thing's might have changed since you last found yourself in Sweet Escapes! Good Luck!

We stopped once on the way home back to the Bay Area right before they were about to close for the night and again for a "cheaper" dessert option after a spendy dinner at In Bloom next door. And that is what was on offer here when we stopped by recently. The place was clean, if a little dark and small inside. The place is a little recessed from the street, which takes away some of their seating options. The service was good. They took the orders from the kids and gave them a good portion. Some of the ice cream was too sweet even for the kids to finish, and there are a few other places we would like to try in downtown that aren't chains, but with one kid with allergies, we picked this place for the allergy-free option.

There was a small line when I arrived but it moved quickly. I ordered the Peanut Butter Perfection and my wife ordered the Cake Batter Batter Batter. The mix ins were well integrated and the ice cream held its shape together while we enjoyed it. We ordered them in waffle cones which I regret because the flavor of the waffle was underwhelming. Maybe even a bit stale. Next time, I'll order it alone in a cup. Check out process was easy. Customer service was dry but adequate. Cost per cup of the "medium" size came to about $11. Bang for buck, I'd prefer going to a more craft creamery. Bonus points for the funny drawing asking people not to touch the glass because it scares the ice cream.
