Donut with sprinkles
Claudia T.

Easy to locate, plenty of parking options on the side, and was open early enough. My kiddo loved the donuts and I tried the bear claw with plenty of apple inside. Staff was friendly and service was prompt upon arrival. They have tables inside to enjoy a sweet treat and welcoming atmosphere to grab something to do or enjoy it there.

Glazed Cronut Fresh at 2AM

I showed up randomly at 2am today 6/29 because I was visiting a friend in Paso Robles. This place is open 24/7, and it had free parking and decent reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I waited for the only other customers to leave the open window for ordering, and I made my way to make my order. I was greeted by a Filipina with a very positive and friendly vibe, which was peculiar so early in the morning. She offered me cronuts, which just came out and were still warm. I took one and a Gatorade and ate it next to my Mustang. Not lying, but it was probably one of the best pastries I've ever tasted, even better than Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara, and also better than my favorite places in Paris and Rome overseas. I went back to the window for more, and the Filipina baker gave me a generous deal for 5 more fresh cronuts, two with strawberry topping. I'm Filipino too, and I felt like I had a memorable connection with the staff and food. This place should be on the bucket list of anybody visiting California. My only regret is not being able to tip much this time. Wish the staff the best.

Fresh donuts!

Jeannie is probably the most consistently, friendliest person I've run into in a long time! She is always so sweet and welcoming & seems to make friends with every customer she greets! I just had to come & update again because my granddaughter "needed" a doughnut! & Jeannie seemed so happy to see us, I had to come & comment!!!

This is the best place to get donuts! Jenny is the best and made me cream filled maple glazed long John's since I dont like chocolate! She even warmed up my donut so I could eat it on my way with my coffee. This place is extremely clean. Donuts are deliciously tasteful and moist! A must stop if in the area!!! Thank you Jenny, great service!!!

A perfect end to a really hot day, thanks Jeanie!!!

We stopped by D K Donuts just a little bit ago because I had a sweet tooth. The lady manning that counter, Jeannie (I asked her name) was amazing! She was funny, inviting and so very upbeat! She claimed that all the donuts tasted great with wine! Lol. She was a delight! Also, the donuts were very fresh and in abundance! Usually at this hour donut places have slim pickens! NOT THIS PLACE! I went in wanting one thing, but ended up getting all kinds of donuts! They also have a loyalty program. Buy 9, get 10th one free! This place is awesome and is open 24 hours.

The frosted maple sour cream is a bit denser than I'm used to though good. It didn't settle well in my stomach. They are open 24x7.

Here is what we noticed: - The inside is very cozy and the location is just about a block or so off the Paso Robles Square. - The menu has a broad range of cocktails, so my wife and I each selected one of those. There are daily specials and so we opted for the Chicken Pot Pie, which was the special on Monday. We started with the Wedge Salad with Chicken, and split both that and the pot pie. It was a perfect amount of food and both dishes were really good. - Service was very good. Bottom line: The Hatch was a great place to go...Not super fancy but also not too casual. Food was great as was the atmosphere. We would go back!

The space is somewhat small and tight for larger parties; however, it is perfect for casual dining. I really liked the place--it wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I wasn't disappointed either. Keep in mind that it can be a bit pricey; it's not so casual that it's inexpensive. I would estimate spending between $50 to $100 per person for a nice meal, including drinks and gratuity. When you're in Paso Robles, do what the locals and visitors alike do: head over to Hatch Rotisserie & Bar for a nice, down-to-earth upscale vibe.

Of note, we were never given an option for indoor seating when making our reservation nor when we were seated. After ordering, we received our starter (shishito peppers) within 10 minutes. However once we finished the starter we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our entrees. There was no communication from the wait staff at all, no refills on water, nothing. In fact in the patio dining area I saw three plates of food (including our peppers) delivered to tables in the hour we had been sitting there. Interestingly the wait staff all seemed very busy and moved around the restaurant but not much appeared to get done. Having worked in hospitality previously I have a lot of empathy for the staff as they seemed to lack direction and management support. My husband ordered the mushroom and scallop pasta. It was okay. Overpriced, but was tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and steak. The chile relleno was filled with a large amount of corn that tasted freezer burnt. My steak was thin and grey and overcooked. It was nearly all grey inside with a couple spots of pink. It wasn't seasoned either. The sauces on the plate were good. Our server was polite and did take it off the menu. However, no manager ever came by to check on us or any other table on the patio in the time we were there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. It was a real let down to have a lackluster food and service experience at "one of the nicest places" in Paso.

I ordered the beet salad and it was honestly the best beet salad I've ever had -- super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Total standout. My dad tried the salmon taco, which he thought was just okay. A bit greasy and not something he'd reorder, but still fine for a quick bite. The outdoor seating is lovely -- a peaceful garden-style patio that makes the whole experience feel relaxed and charming. My only wish is that the menu had a few more options, as it's definitely on the limited side. Overall, great ambiance, exceptional salad, the service is fast, friendly; a nice little stop if you're passing through Paso Robles.

Ziggy's is fully vegan but Sylvester's is not. Staff recommended the house plant burger. I got the mushroom -it was loaded with greasy, oily, mushrooms. The burger was overly fried to the point you couldn't taste anything besides char and oil. My partner ordered the onion ring burger. The onion slid right out of the breading. He tried to eat the naked onion but it was not chewable. He said his plant burger was just as nasty as mine. We also ordered the Korean fried cauliflower. Very very fried. The flavor was decent but overwhelming and the pieces were drowning in the sauce which made it also inedible. The only staff member we spoke with was nice. The space isn't not nice inside. Small and diner like. They close at 7pm so we had to rush since we arrived at 6:30. Maybe it's more of a lunch spot? This is extremely unhealthy fast junk food. We like our plant food to remain plants, not fried, greasy, oily, char that makes you feel sick. I want to support vegan spots but I can't recommend this. Maybe they have other menu items that are good but it wasn't our thing.

From the moment we walked in, it felt less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone's passion project. The intimacy of the setting made it special right away--small group, shared experience, and a level of attention you just don't get in a traditional dining environment. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, but more importantly, it delivered. The food was the clear star--clean, intentional, and incredibly well-executed. Every dish felt like it had a purpose. The steak and mushrooms were a standout, and dessert was right there with it. The wine pairings introduced us to bottles we wouldn't normally find or order ourselves, which added to the experience. If anything, I would've loved even more storytelling around the pairings--how and why each wine was chosen to complement the dish--but that's a small note in an otherwise incredible night. What really elevated the evening was the host's passion. You can feel it in how the food is prepared, how the evening flows, and how guests are brought into the experience. It's not just dinner--it's connection, storytelling, and craftsmanship all rolled into one. If you're looking for something beyond a typical night out--something more curated, more personal--this is absolutely worth it. A memorable night all around.

He welcomed us in, walked us through each course, and somehow managed to keep everything flowing smoothly. The absolute highlight was the wine--truly out of this world. Every glass he poured was exceptional, and honestly, it became the star of the night. The food, while creative and nicely presented, just didn't quite hit the same level. It was fine, but it lacked the depth and excitement that the wine brought to the table. Even so, it was a special night, and watching him pull off the whole dinner on his own was something we won't forget.
