In Monopoly I think they say " Do not pass Go". In California I say, if you are on the 101 Fwy and in wine country specifically San Luis Obispo County " Do not pass exit 230, Paso Robles St". Please get off and after making that left on 13 th St and then Pine park your vehicle and experience a life changing meal at Ziggy's - this is not an exaggeration! You have to get the Korean Fried Cauliflower or KFC drizzled with the OMG gochujang sauce! One bite and game over!! That beautiful bold, spicy n sweet addicting umami flavor! This is from the heart and taste buds of a guy who used to love steak, burgers and could eat 3 double whoppers at BK with large fries and still have room for dessert! We requested more sauce as we were just in love with this item. The very kind gentleman at the counter ( his 21st birthday day is on Tuesday 10/28) gave us a big container. We then turned to the Taquitos with the chipotle and Julio sauces and just closed our eyes and relished every bite. The chef was smiling as he saw us really enjoying this meal. The mushrooms on the burger were divine. The melted cheese was amazing. Our smiles got bigger as we realized we had more of these Korean Fried Cauliflower bites in the untouched Cauli bowl. So extra sauce and even more fun! You can order on the computer outside or walk in and do so at the counter. There are 3 tables with seating for 10 and a couple outside. Loved that NASCAR was in the tele and they had paper and crayons for the kids. They have a dual set up with Sylvester's ( non veg food) also in the same location but they prepare the food in separate stations. Love that! Ziggy's is a must stop. Definitely recommend to vegetarians! So many choices at a cute place in downtown Paso. First off - I was lowkey confused where it was because we followed directions for Ziggy's on the gps and I couldn't find it. Turns out - it's a shared joint with Sylvester's Burgers. Second - the food was so freaking tasty. Some vegan spots may not have variety in flavor but the sauces Ziggy has, is super delish! What I had - the Cali burrito (small - $9.95). I asked instead of the grilled beyond steak, if there was a substitute similar to a black bean patty and the woman who helped me (didn't get her name but super friendly!), gave me the rec of substituting it with their Ziggy patty. And y'all...it was so on point! Their Ziggy patty is made from black&pinto beans, carrots, corn, bell pepper & spices. Along with that, theres a bunch of ingredients & this mouth watering habanero creama Seating - enough seating for 10 people inside and 2 outside. It is quaint & they have a restroom. Ziggy's is now in the same little building as Sylvester's Hamburgers. Odd combination. Vegans and meat eaters eating together. I ordered a taco which I normally love, but it had way too much much chipotle on it and it was not palatable for me. I just ate the cauliflower that was in it. My friend and I both felt like there was too much kale, as well. The two young women who worked there were very nice and helpful and apologized for the food being too spicy. I would have liked to reorder, but wasn't given that option. Pretty much left unsatisfied. We rechecked the menu and we didn't see anywhere where the food was going to be this hot! It's hard to accurately rate this Ziggy's because it's now meat hamburger/ vegan order up front establishment. Because of healthier living choices, I've been eating a lot more vegan (plant based) options. Reading about Ziggy's it sounded like a good healthy place for a quick lunch. To my surprise (and confusion) there was a large Sylvester's burgers banner on the storefront. I originally thought Ziggys went under, but aperently they both share this small space. - Black Bean taquitos. I liked it, it was a bit dry inside. - Mushroom "burger". Loaded with mushrooms and special sauce. Their Ziggy patty was good. We visited for my birthday and liked it so much we ate here twice! The server was very friendly and the food was served fast and warm. Our first time I ordered the taquitos and my wife the bbq cauliflower. The Taquitos was fine but the cauliflower were so good! They were crisp on the outside but fully cooked and the sauce was tasty. Both orders came with large kale salads. The next meal we shared a vegan burger and a side of onion rings. The onion ring order was large and fried to perfection. We were in Paso and wanted to try a different kind of place for lunch...while we are not Vegans, we do like to eat health. Boy, are we glad to have found Ziggy's! Here is what we noticed: - It was a Wednesday, but the place was pretty empty...which I wasn't sure that was a good sign. We were able to each at one of the three or four 2-person tables though. - My wife and I ordered both the Crunchwrap Supreme and the KCK Salad, so that we could each try both dishes. Wow, is about all I can say!! - The Crunchwrap looked to be on the smallish side at first, but was filling...and, it was incredible especially with the grilled outside of the burrito. The KCK Salad was topped with lots of the Korean fried cauliflower, which perfectly complemented the ranch on the kale salad. It was probably one of the best salads I've had in a long, long time...just be aware that it is pretty spicy. - We got water from the water station. Service was at a counter and our food came out pretty quickly, hot and piping as it has clearly just been cooked. Bottom line: We'd go back to Ziggy's anytime, especially since there are several other menu items we'd like to try...frankly, we forgot that it was a Vegan place. read more

I've been to Ziggy's a few times and always enjoyed their avocado taco as well as the french fries. However, this time I had the vegan soft serve and it is so good! - I believe the flavors change regularly but today they offered vanilla and chocolate swirl. I ordered mine in a cone to-go. It tastes just like traditional soft serve and is perfect for a hot day! - Last time I was at Ziggy's, I got the vanilla milkshake and it was soupy. It simply wasn't frozen enough and it kind of ruined the experience. However, the soft serve this time was a perfect consistency. Be sure to pay in cash and you will get a 4% discount. read more

This place is labeled as Sylvester's. It's a combo restaurant. We came for dinner because it's the only place we could find that was fully vegan in the area. Ziggy's is fully vegan but Sylvester's is not. Staff recommended the house plant burger. I got the mushroom -it was loaded with greasy, oily, mushrooms. The burger was overly fried to the point you couldn't taste anything besides char and oil. My partner ordered the onion ring burger. The onion slid right out of the breading. He tried to eat the naked onion but it was not chewable. He said his plant burger was just as nasty as mine. We also ordered the Korean fried cauliflower. Very very fried. The flavor was decent but overwhelming and the pieces were drowning in the sauce which made it also inedible. The only staff member we spoke with was nice. The space isn't not nice inside. Small and diner like. They close at 7pm so we had to rush since we arrived at 6:30. Maybe it's more of a lunch spot? This is extremely unhealthy fast junk food. We like our plant food to remain plants, not fried, greasy, oily, char that makes you feel sick. I want to support vegan spots but I can't recommend this. What a great find! So happy we drove directly to Ziggy's once we arrived in Paso Robles! Ziggy's shares the location with a burger place...but just head to the pink stand to place your Ziggy's order! We opted for: - Avalon Burger, with Gouda (not noticeable), arugula, garlic aioli and pickles. $12.95 - Lettuce wrap standard burger. $11.95 The Ziggy patties are very black beany, which is what we expected walking in...but still overwhelms most of the other ingredient flavors. Three large lettuce leaves wrap the burger and give a nice crunch; still fell apart at the end. For the regular bun on the Avalon, the burger had an overall mushiness. For at least one of us, the black bean burger quickly passed through our system later that evening, if you catch my drift. I guess you can count that cleansing as a win...? We were on our way out of Paso Robles when we decided to do a quick stop here after picking up some coffee at Amstrdm (equally amazing! look out for a review for there as well!). We didn't know it was vegan until we got there. The place was quaint and cute! Definitely Instagram worthy if that's your thing. The interior had a few tables to eat inside and a couple of tables to eat outside. They also had t-shirts and doggy bandanas for sale. They had an extensive menu for lunch items like plant based burgers, tacos, salads, chicken sandwiches, ect. And a few breakfast items. I got the crunchwrap supreme while my partner got the breakfast sandwich. I took my first bite and the first words out of my mouth was "Wow. This is so f*in gooood!" with eyes wide. Tbh, I'm drooling and missing it while writing this. It was bursting with flavor and the "beef" was so tasty. The best part was that my tummy didn't feel guilty for indulging in it! It used to be way better. I am saddened to know they now share the space and cooking area with non vegan food. I ended up with a very upset stomach after my last visit. We stopped by this little spot on the way home. My wife is lactose intolerant and she likes eating plant based as well so it was perfect. The service is great! 5/5 no complaints! Super welcoming and friendly and just smiles all around. I had the Phoenix with the Ziggy's patty. It's a bean based patty and the flavor was great but it was just falling apart. Not sure what you can do to keep it together but that's the only knock on the food. It was delicious, overall. Tater tots- good tots not much else to say. One of the biggest reasons for a 4 vs 5 is the price to portion ratio. It's a little much for how much you get but produce is also really expensive so I kind of get it. I give it a 4 because I can't for sure say "go it's worth every penny". It is delicious and worth going just be aware that it's very pricey, especially the small shakes! read more

We noticed this vegan burger spot on the way down to LA and thought maybe we could have some healthy eats here without getting sprouts stuck in our teeth. Their burgers had a solid "meaty" taste as they were made from a combination of black and pinto beans, carrots, corn kernels, bell peppers, and various spices. We dropped the bun and went for a lettuce wrap - a good move though the lettuce could've been cut in half. Rating: (1 star) Title: Bizarrely Rude Staff & Confusing Hours. "We Are Closed" (While Open?) Was driving back home to Santa Cruz with about 2 hours to go and was specifically looking for vegan food to tide me over. I was so excited when Ziggy's popped up on the map! I found parking and walked in around 11:15 AM. The website said "Open" and the front door was literally unlocked and open. I said hello to one worker whose back was to me. A moment later, a young person with dark, long hair came out from the kitchen area and, in a really rude, sharp tone, just snapped, "We are closed." No explanation, no "Sorry, we open at X," just... "We are closed." Confused, I walked back outside. I double-checked the website, and it clearly listed an 11:00 AM opening. Since the door had been open, I thought, "Okay, maybe it's 11:30 AM they open? I'll wait a minute." Just then, another potential customer walked in. I overheard the same employee tell them, "We are closed." I was still standing right outside, and the employee then came to the door, aggressively slammed it shut, and very pointedly locked it. If you're not open, fine, if you can let customers know nicely. Luckily, it all worked out. I turned the corner and found "The Neighborhood Açaí and Juice Bar." What a difference! They were super friendly, had an entire plant-based section, and I ended up with a delicious meal and an amazing golden latte. Looking for a scrumptious vegan meal? look no further! We found Ziggy's on Yelp and it far exceeded our expectations. First of all, Amanda was just the sweetest and most accommodating young lady. She even pointed out that the way I ordered my salad could have been cheaper another way (of course I find a way to make my order more money lol). I even dripped water at the water station and she happily said she'd clean it. I mean seriously, give Amanda a raise! My daughter ordered the Buffalo Chick'n sandwich and said it was very spicy, fresh, and delicious. I got the Kale Salad with Korean fried cauliflower a/k/a KCK salad. Omgggg quite possibly the best salad I've ever tasted. With a generous portion of crispy cauliflower bites laying on a kale salad drizzled with THE BEST ranch dressing! I'm still drooling. I even ate the leftovers cold and it was just as tasty. GET THIS SALAD, and you're welcome. We finished off lunch with a cookies and cream milkshake. Deeeeelicous!!!! My only regret is that we decided to share one. Pro tip: get your own. The inside is small with some tables and super cute, as their logo is a Flying pig. Cute little spot with a good choice of vegan "fast food" options. I opted for the caesar salad which was pleasantly tasty to start it off. Then I went on to try the buffalo "chkn" sandwich which had just the right amount of kick to it. I also tried the onion rings that were very nostalgic of my childhood, they even add vegan ranch to dip them in. It was all very tasty, the service was very nice. Be aware they do not take credit cards so you either pay with cash or order online ahead, which I kind of prefer anyway. Delicious food and excellent service. We ordered the crunch wrap, the albondigas special, and two milkshakes. Everything was absolutely delicious and we're not even vegans. The Oreo milkshake was maybe the best milkshake I've ever had. The chips that came with the albondigas were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The wrap was comfort food at its finest and the albondigas were yummy. (My mother makes kick ass albondigas so I know what I'm talking about.) The woman behind the counter could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Customer service is important to me and she did an exceptional job. Tbh, we hesitated about going in at first bc the place was empty, but after we ordered and sat down, we noticed a steady flow of customers ordering stuff to go. The restaurant itself is quite small and seems to cater mainly to take-out. I only wish we were able to get another meal but we were just passing through. We had the mushroom burger made with a veggie Ziggy burger patty which is made of black beans, pinto beans, corn, carrots and spices. The burger had lots of mushrooms and tasted very good. The bun was no match and got soggy quickly. The cauli bowl consists of spicy fried cauliflower florets which I wished there was a little more, rice, and veggies. I was walking through downtown Paso one weekend day in search of brunch, when I walked right in front of Ziggy's and the answer became immediately clear. I had been to their SLO location once before, and was so excited that they've opened in Paso. I had the breakfast burrito that morning, which has Beyond spicy sausage, JUST egg, hashbrowns, and vegan cheese. It was super yummy (especially the hashbrowns!), and I was contemplating how I could make it at home next. I've also had the Phoenix burger, which is great and on a really nice soft bun with lots of flavor. All of their burgers give you the option of choosing between the house-made Ziggy's patty or an Impossible patty, and I've chosen the house-made one every time. You can get an Impossible patty anywhere now and it's not worth the extra $3 (and their patty is really good!). I want to try more of the sides, but I keep getting the KCBs because they are sooooo good. KCB = Korean cauliflower bites. They're lightly battered and fried, and covered with this delicious gochujang sauce that is the right balance between sweet and savory. I actually live in the Bay Area, but was last here a few weeks ago when I stopped in Paso on a drive from SoCal in the afternoon literally just for Ziggy's and an order of KCBs.
