Excellent Tri-Tip Sando with Skinny Fries
Joe S.

I was on a quest for a Tri Tip Sandwich and after perusing reviews and photos for all things Tri Tip, this brewery won the battle of who is going to stuff my mouth? (it's not a regular contest... yet). Plus, it's a brewery and like at least 1/9th of the United States Supreme Court Justices, I like beer. First, the sandwich! This was a 10/10 (or in 1990's figure skating, a 6.0). The tri tip was shaved thin and was super easy to bite in to. The bread held up nicely and the tiny bit of greens added some crunch and healthiness (I guess, right?). They also had skinny fries which is a yes please from me! Excellent all around meal. They had a decent selection of beers, which is always a plus for a brewery. I'm a wheat fan so they lacked any choices for me. The wheats they had were all high ABV which must be a California thing or something. I sampled them (thank you) and just didn't like them. I didn't even finish the samples. I ordered a blonde and it was pretty good. I can adapt if they don't have what I want. This hit the spot after a long drive from San Jose before a weekend of wine sampling. If you're in Paso Robles, give this spot a try!

805 Cerveza Fish Tacos

We're in Paso Robles for the weekend and decided to drop in for lunch. The spot was bustling, ambiance lite, and our server was on point, attentive, and polite. As for the food, it was surprisingly very good, full of flavors, and well crafted. Each dish we ordered was a culinary masterpiece that exceeded our expectations. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend!

Food-My Ahi Tacos were awesome and seemed fresh. I would have liked some more heat to the sauce but they were delicious. my friends had Brussel Sprouts and they said they were good. My husband had the burger and he said it was really good. Service-Front host was awful. Unfortunately the place was super busy. I'm surprised they are not used to being busy especially during FIFA. They didn't seem to plan for the rush however the young girl at the front of house was not organized and she kept changing the time for our wait. We saw tables empty for over 20 minutes and nobody was being seated. I asked her if we could take a bar area table and she was visibly stressed and snapped at us and said no. We waited for like 45 minutes before we were able to sit down. Luckily you can order drinks at the counter near the bar. The fish tacos were good but the Ahi Tacos were so so good.

Classic Smashburger. I think this is the best thing we had here.

I don't really understand the lower reviews. We had a great time. Food came out quickly, and the service was good. This is the second time I've stopped here while driving down, totally worth it.

Finally made it back for Spring break and enjoyed more of it by signing up for the brewery tour. I know the burgers are the way to go and tried 3 different burgers this time, with 3 different fries skinny, lion, garlic parm, lol. Different is good, but I think the classic 805 smash burger is the KISS, keep it simple stupid, fav. Same with fries, skinny or lion are the best. The garlic parm upgrade was tasty but too oily. I love the regular fries with their crack ranch sauce to dip into. Oh, I did get to try a sample of one of the sours. Never had sour ale before, so this was a great chance to try it out! Definitely an acquired taste, as it was not for me. Glad I didn't just order a glass of it! I'll stick to my fav kiss UDBA, lol. For the brewery tour, my bad in misunderstanding in signing up. Per person over 12 does not mean the ticketed participant pays to drink the samples, while under 12 can go for free without samples. It means, no one under 12 can go on tour period (not just stroller babies, anyone under 12 is no go), it's the law so that's that. They kindly offered to still get me beer flight while I relaxed in the room with the under 12 kid:) All the beers I chose were delicious and I had a great time chatting with Ms. April, like a personal bartender! Tour came back in about an hour and wife was tired from it. Glad I stayed behind to just enjoy the tour, since inside the factory was loud when had to enter the door to use the restroom. So if thinking of doing beer flight in the restaurant, just go across the street and do the tour without doing the tour and enjoy the flight here! A must stop in Paso for me. I still need to hit the one in Venice - Marina Del Rey area... Wife recommended to her coworker and they went to that location and loved the burgers and beer. So if can't make it up to Paso for the OG location, the one in LA is much closer for us LA/OC folks. April told me the Sunglider beer they had was developed in the Venice/Marina location, and it's become popular to become a permanent offering or something. So maybe time to go check out the Venice/Marina location to discover what is under R&D! (but I am sure I will still just get the UDBA there, lol)

A variety of craft beers are served at this taproom restaurant, from lager, india pale ale to hazy IPA and even barrel-aged beers. You can totally customize your beer flight, so you get to try even more options. I chose Mind Haze Cosmic Crusher, Hopnosis, ParaPajamas, Parabolita and Baltic Merlin The food was so good too, especially the Ahi Wonton Tacos. The food goes great with the beer and isn't overly salty like some other gastropubs.

Unfortunately I didn't find anything worthy of praise except for the facility. Cool place. The food was seemingly without quality control. An expediter capable of steering the direction. Waaayy too much salt in the pot pie. Way too much heat in the ahi tacos. I didn't even finish my second bite. The polenta under the modestly tender short ribs had no salt. There was only one component of that plate I could not specifically identify as having just the right salt. It wasn't the rib. I didn't know what I had expected of FW. Seems like I had hoped for more "Stone" since I am from Escondido, CA. It was a big buyout, yet nothing said Stone. All the FW hype seems to be the 805 brand. Please don't serve your "non-alcoholic" selections (beer) in a glass that "obviously says non-alcoholic". Why not just ask her to stand up next time. Not impressed with the service either. Oh, BTW, my beer was fine. "Been there, done that!" CritDicks

Stopped in for lunch at Firestone and had a great experience all around. Service was good, the ambiance was nice, and the food hit the spot. They also have a great selection of beers, which made it a perfect lunch stop for beer lovers. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed, enjoyable meal in Paso Robles.

805 cerveza

3.5 stars. Came Saturday afternoon 5:15pm it was getting towards crowded but not packed. We sat on the patio which was nice on a warm Saturday afternoon with a kiddo. lots of cute dogs to look at. but no one came to check on us, I had to ask the hostess and someone came out. We ordered 2 beers- 805 cerveza & mind haze, waters, kids chicken tenders, kids lemonade, tritip Sando, and 805 fish tacos. We got our food pretty quick which I appreciated but had to wait for the utensils and kids lemonade. My fish tacos were meh, tasted plain with batter being the main flavor. Was hoping they would taste amazing with the 805 cerveza but it was meh. Hubby loved his tritip sando. He loved the bbq sauce and aoli sauce. He ate it all up. My kiddos chicken tenders and fries was huge!! Had to get it packed up to go. Would be great for a hungry growing boy. Overall it was ok, liked the patio, service was meh, and my tacos were meh, we will be back though I just won't get the tacos again. it's great stop driving back from the beach.

The vibe, the beer, the service, and the food! We liked it all. We have been here many times over the years and as usual were happy with our meal. I love that they have meat free and dairy free options, and my husband was happy with his meat full option. We sat on the back patio, in the perfect weather and our server was very attentive. My portabella sando was fantastic, and my husband loved his fish tacos. Paired with a Cali squeeze and a 805 Cervesa we had a great time and a great meal! Go there if you prefer beer on tap, far better then in a can. You can even take your littles! Family friendly all the way.

805 Smash Burger and Basket Garlic Parmesan Fries
Roger R.

Always a ritual to stop by and get 805 Cerveza with 805 smash! The smashburger is a perfect blend of meat, juicy cheese, onions, pickles, house sauce and with the soft bun. Every bite was great and Wasn't overwhelming in any way. Perfect smash burger! Also got the buffalo chicken wings this time which was decent but can be skipped if you're not into it. As far as service Ely was a great server as well and very attentive and always checked up on us. This place is great stop by and try them out! Everyone's friendly, good food and good beer!

Braised rib on bed of polenta with roasted vegetables

We felt like we hit the jackpot when we found out we could visit Firestone Walker while we were in town. We've had several of their special brews so getting a chance to try them in person was a real treat! We were seated immediately by the friendly host staff and we were off to the sampling races in no time! Our attentive server Nicholas was so helpful and provided great service and suggestions! We got a few flights of some brews we've never had a chance to try before and snagged a few bottles and cans to go to enjoy at a later time. We were there around lunch time so we wanted to get a bite to eat too and that was definitely a good choice! We decided to share a braised rib on a bed of polenta with roasted vegetables which was absolutely delicious and oh so tender! It was very refreshing to see families gathering around us and all the laughter and joy filling this large space! All of the staff were noticeably happy so it felt good to see that too! We had no idea Firestone Walker was in Paso Robles but now we know! We couldn't believe how large the production facilities were when we pulled up! Wish we had more time to be able to do a tour but we'll have to plan for that next time we're in town. It was our first time in the area but it won't be our last! We can't wait to come back! I hope everyone else doesn't hesitate to go check them out too! You won't regret it!

Food was really good! Had fish and chips with steak fries. People in my party had burgers and their fries were okay should give option for steak fries. Service was 7/10. Drinks and food were good will come again if in area

Do you accept reservations for party of 8 ?? Thanks.

Hello! We're currently accepting reservations for groups of 9 to 15 people. Please call the taproom directly if you're interested in making a reservation.

Still have bottomless mimosas?

No they do not offer bottomless mimosas

I want to pick up 805 gear for a friend. Which location, Paso or Buellton, would have the best variety of t shirts and hoodies?

Paso will always have the best selection of everything!!!

Is there a kids menu for the restaurant?

Indeed!

Can I fill my growler here?

Yes. You definitely can fill growlers

I would like make a reservation for a tour of the brewery on Thursday but cannoli find the site that allows for making them. Can you help me?

Hello Judy! You can make a tour reservation here: https://app.anyroad.com/tours/copy-of-firestone-walker-brewhouse-tour-paso-robles/s-f51c3ec2

Do they serve duvell?

Sorry Sonny, we do not have any guest taps at this time, serving all Firestone Walker beers only. Plenty to choose from though!

Can we make reservations?

I called today to make a reservation for a large party. They said they don't take reservations and to call about 10 minutes before we want to come in to find out if they are busy and can accommodate us.

Are they dog friendly?

They let us bring our dog on the patio when we were there last October. There were quite a few dogs there.

We had the bone-in bbq wings and the cranberry chicken salad. There were 8 wings in the order. They were meaty and dressed with the right amount of sauce and worked perfect as a light meal. The cranberry chicken salad had a generous amount of chopped chicken and with the mixed greens, candied pecans and dried cranberries was a great balance of flavor and texture. The pacing of service was good. There were the right amount of people dining and drinking at the bar and tables to give the spot a good energy. The only downside was that they only serve wine by the glass. We would have brought our own bottle and paid the $15 corkage if we had known. Other than that, it was a great late night choice for dining and drinks.

Here's how your breakdown lines up: Burger (main miss) --frozen patty, no crust, unmelted cheese, weak sauce--usually means: * Pre-formed frozen beef puck (not fresh ground) * Cooked on a grill instead of a ripping-hot flat top (so no smash crust or Maillard flavor) * Cheese added too late or heat too low to melt it properly * Sauce under-portioned or used as a light spread instead of a flavor layer Result: bland, dry, and flat tasting burger Mac & cheese That "pasta + runny cheese water" texture is a classic sign of: * Pre-boiled pasta sitting in liquid * Cheese sauce broken or watered down * Very little actual cheese base (often just milk + starch + seasoning) So yeah--more "pasta dish" than mac & cheese. Salad (surprisingly the win) Good olive oil + vinaigrette can carry a salad hard. That's usually the only thing that doesn't rely on heavy kitchen execution, so it makes sense it stood out. Fries (another win) Crispy, salted fries usually come from: * Proper double fry or high-temp fry oil * Frozen fries done correctly (ironically, frozen can still be great if cooked right) Pulled pork Cheap BBQ sauce + pre-cooked pork is pretty standard for mid-tier spots. Not amazing, but at least it has flavor, unlike the burger. Beer Hard to mess up--good call there. Overall read of the place This is the vibe I'm getting: * Strengths: fryer, sauces (salad dressing), bar program * Weaknesses: grill station, mac & cheese, burger execution * Kitchen style: "assembly + reheating" more than scratch cooking

At least one party got angry and said, in a loud voice, that they were were going to leave if they weren't served soon. The sausages were under cooked and pink in the middle. At this point we decided to leave. I walked up to the manager and told her about the under cooked sausage, offered to pay for the beer, and said that we were leaving. She told me that the sausage was supposed to be a little pink and that it was fine. Of course she didn't take the time to look at it. In what world is eating under cooked sausage ok. Needless to say, we won't be coming back. Hopefully they will improve before its too late and they're out of business
