We tried LeoLeo for the first time when I got one at the hotel I was staying at in Pismo. It was memorable enough that I zoomed into the picture of that cup to see what company made it, the next time I was down in the Central Coast. We stopped once on the way home back to the Bay Area right before they were about to close for the night and again for a "cheaper" dessert option after a spendy dinner at In Bloom next door. So many flavors from cream based to fruit ones to choose from, they were nice enough to let us sample so we get what we want. But honestly, you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose and some of their fun names makes it even more memorable. read more

Perfect dessert after lunch. Had a bit of trouble finding it, but it was inside the food court building, so just go inside the building and find it in the front corner. The building itself seemed pretty empty, but it was super clean and had clean bathrooms too. I came to try the sea salt caramel flavor, but they were out. Went for 3 scoops - choco chip coffee which was good - pistachio which was excellent, my fav - mixed berry very refreshing great milky smooth gelato I also found leo leo on the menu of Rustic Fire pizza place, and thought about going there are dinner just to see if could get sea salt caramel there, but of course was too full and too tired at night to hit the pizza place. We love gelato and we will pretty much get some every night we are on vacation lol. I came here with my girls and we were surprised there were no chocolate based flavors. We made due and I got coffee with hot fudge and I honestly can't remember what my girls ended up getting. The hot fudge seemed old and way overcooked. I was disappointed in it. My daughter added chocolate chips to hers which were really good. The gelato itself was delicious and perfect in texture and freshness. The little wafer was a nice addition! It's cute - but if you advertise that you open at 4:30, open at 4:30. We went out of our way to stop here on the way out of town. At 4:37, we gave up, went to the restroom and came back the team member finally having arrived (4:40 at this point) helping a family of six sampling every flavor. When we politely asked to go ahead since we knew our order, they said they were almost done and spent several more minutes. The staff member could've interjected while providing a positive customer experience to both parties saying, "while you're finalizing your choices, let me quickly help her." So after spending 20 minutes there total, we left without gelato and just frustration. Would recommend any other shop that actually respects all customers time equally. read more

There is AC blasting and plenty of seating which was much appreciated in the 100+ degree weather. I chose coconut and honey lavender. No wait at 2PM on a Friday. The honey lavender had many pieces of dried lavender throughout which I wasn't a huge fan of because it was overpoweringly fragrant and a bit strange to chew though. Someone that loves the flavor of lavender would likely enjoy this flavor a lot. Overall though, the texture of the gelato was excellent and next time I will ask for a sample first :) read more

This was my first experience with Leo Leo. We tried the Vanilla Bean Gelato. It was sooooooo sweet that it was inedible. I honestly don't recall ever having vanilla ice cream before that was too sweet to eat. I should mention I bought this at the supermarket, not at their brick and mortar location. What an unexpected surprise. We were searching for ice cream and most were closed. We found this and it was a big WOW. Not only were they open but they were fabulous. This is top notch no matter what you compare it to. Even the snob that was with us had to admit it. I had the coffee. I hate coffee but love coffee ice cream. Creamy, delicious and made me wish I tried another flavor too. We go to Paso every year and we will definitely go back. Earlier in the trip though so we can bring back to the house.
