You pretty much know what you're going to get when you visit a Cold Stone Creamery. A solid ice cream with lots of options for add ons. And that is what was on offer here when we stopped by recently. The place was clean, if a little dark and small inside. The place is a little recessed from the street, which takes away some of their seating options. The service was good. They took the orders from the kids and gave them a good portion. Some of the ice cream was too sweet even for the kids to finish, and there are a few other places we would like to try in downtown that aren't chains, but with one kid with allergies, we picked this place for the allergy-free option. read more

It's been a long while since I've visited a cold stone location. I remember really liking it so since the weather was on the warmer side, I figured now was as good of a time as any. There was a small line when I arrived but it moved quickly. I ordered the Peanut Butter Perfection and my wife ordered the Cake Batter Batter Batter. The mix ins were well integrated and the ice cream held its shape together while we enjoyed it. We ordered them in waffle cones which I regret because the flavor of the waffle was underwhelming. Maybe even a bit stale. Next time, I'll order it alone in a cup. Check out process was easy. Customer service was dry but adequate. Cost per cup of the "medium" size came to about $11. Bang for buck, I'd prefer going to a more craft creamery. Bonus points for the funny drawing asking people not to touch the glass because it scares the ice cream. read more

I'm an OG Cold Stone fan - always have and always will be. They have some of the best ice cream ever, in my opinion!! This location is conveniently in downtown Paso, just across the street from the movie theaters and the paso city park where you can walk around or sit outside on a bench enjoying your ice cream in the park. There are a handful of tables inside and outside of the store as well. Visited mid day on a Tuesday and the girl working was so friendly and nice. I ordered sweet cream with Oreos (my regular) as a "love it" size and she gave me an extremely generous amount, overfilling the cup. Their shakes are also absolutely delicious! Can't deny how much I love getting ice cream from Cold Stone - it truly never disappoints! read more

Cold stone offers a BOGO deal for your birthday so I asked my husband to take us on my birthday so we could both enjoy a sweet treat. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach and of course I ordered too much ice cream. I went with the "love it" size in a waffle cup. I got the cake batter batter batter flavor and my husband got the peanut butter cup perfection in a waffle cone. I preferred the peanut butter cup over my cake batter flavor. The cake batter was super good for like 3 bites but it was too rich. The service was a bit stand off ish and a little rude. When we arrived I asked how the BOGO worked in terms of do the two orders need to be of the same value and if there were any stipulations on the BOGO and the response I got back was " its buy one get one free". Our total came to $11 for one ice cream which is very expensive. Overall, if I wanted another scoop of ice cream I'd probably pick a more craft ice cream shop over cold stone. read more

This Cold Stone is located in the beautifully decorated downtown Paso, a lovely place to bring visitors. The area looks especially charming at night with all the Christmas lights. Cold Stone is great to have nearby when a sweet craving hits. My one concern is that the young employees working here often don't seem very friendly and are lacking basic customer-service skills. In such a classy downtown area, it would be nice to see service that reflects that. I've noticed this for a while, but I'm not sure management is aware that their staff represents the store. At times the toppings taste a bit stale and the ice cream can be softer than expected. I prefer fresh toppings and ice cream that's cold and firm. Everyone has their own preferences, but I think most people would agree that some additional training in social skills and etiquette would go a long way for this location. read more

Cold Stone is still our favorite for ice cream. Located downtown Paso, next to the park and all the restaurants/shops, tucked between two restaurants, is Cold Stone. They have 3 tables inside and 2 tables outside to enjoy your ice cream. When you enter you are welcomed. There are many, many, many selections of ice cream, any way you can think of. I picked Dough Lightfull Peanut Butter. My daughter had a children's Boo Batter. They gave us a perfect amount of ice cream, right to the top. Mine was super soft, decadent, ultra creamy vanilla. Folded in was a scoop of peanut butter, cookie dough, and Reese's peanut butter cups! Chewiness and brown sugar from the cookie dough, went great with the creamy peanut butter and crunch of the Reese's peanut butter cups. It was heavenly. My daughter loved the black Boo Batter with the candy crunch added. Will be back soon! read more

Gross. The ice cream wasn't solid. They all looked pretty soft but I ordered the one that looked the best. Ordered it with fresh strawberry. They glooped on frozen strawberries with syrup. When I asked if that was their fresh berries she said yes, did I want to change it? Yes please. So she scraped off the goo as best as she could. The stone wasn't cold either because it was melting on the slab. She asked if I wanted to substitute it. I did swap it out for toffee. The ice cream was off and the chocolate tasted like the freezer. Ordered a custom birthday cake and asked for "Happy Birthday Pop Pop " . My 4 year old grandson calls his grandfather "Pop Pop. I got "Happy Birthday Popop". When I asked for it to be changed I was told it was the same word. She didn't want to change it stood there just looking at me. When I shared my experience with Cold Stone the owner Brandon he responded saying he was at the store at the time of the incident , and found no reason to address the concern. Popop is not Pop Pop . The worst of any Cold Stone I've been to. Dirty tables outside should have been the first clue but after a bad experience at Negreti's down the street it was the only other local option. "I'll have the coffee lovers only," which comes with Heath bar. After putting all but one of the ingredients together, the server then said, "What do you want instead of Heath bar, we're all out." The overall vibe was "we don't care" and it had an overall feel of being dirty. When we walked by the next day there were employees standing around but the outside tables were still dirty. I had one of the worst customer service experiences today. I arrived at the store about 3 minutes before closing, and from the moment I walked in, the staff made it clear that they weren't happy to serve us. I understand that it was close to closing time, but as a customer, I still expect to be treated with basic respect. Alondra, who was serving me, had a terrible attitude throughout the entire interaction. Even though I said thank you when she handed me my ice cream, she didn't respond at all--just gave me an annoyed look. It was obvious she didn't want to be there and didn't care about the quality of service. As if that wasn't bad enough, after the transaction, Jonhan, another staff member, seemed like he was ready to start an argument with me. His demeanor was confrontational, and he acted as if I was the problem for simply being there. The experience was so unpleasant that, after paying for the ice cream, we ended up dumping it in the trash right in front of them. It was a complete waste of time and money. I've never been treated so poorly as a paying customer, and it's shocking that employees think this behavior is acceptable. read more

Came in last week after dinner, the smell of waffle cones brought me in. Staff was super nice, and informative of all the great options they have. I ended up getting the Coffee Lovers Only in a waffle bowl and loved it! Location is very convenient, and though there was quite a line the staff took the time to make sure everyone didn't feel rushed when ordering to assure they got exactly what they wanted. Found a new obsession, definitely bringing the family back for some amazing ice cream. We noticed they have ice cream cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more which we can't wait to try out. This store does is not COVID safe. They allow people with no masks and shoes to enter the building. There is no sanitation, no signs for COVID safety measures or guidelines, and no social distancing. This location should shutdown until they can better prepare their business to follow state and county guidelines. For example, when I asked the cashier, "Are you allowing people without masks in?" (A couple standing in line ahead of me didn't have face coverings) and she replied with a yes.
